We've been here with this nice family for almost 50 days and was one of our best experiences ever in workaway and also in our life. We did some renovation tasks and also enjoy being with the lovely kids Ona and Gala and we learned a lot Spanish from Ona 😉. We also had Paella together in the garden and had a 2-days trip to a nice village near
… read more Girona and were hosted by Marta's grandmother, who was super kind with us. They have tons of board game and not easy to beat them 🤦♂️. The house is nice and big and the city also have perfect atmosphere and is calm. The train to Barcelona is well accessed by walk and is frequent and regular. Our experience with Mohamed and Shima has been great. They are a very nice, hard-working couple who are very easy to get along with. They have kept the apartment very clean and tidy and have taken care of our cat. Mohamed has carried out several renovations in the garden and has maintained the windows and wooden blinds. Marta and Pau were incredible hosts. We loved our time looking after Ona and Gala, as well as doing a few odd jobs in the garden. The kids were a pleasure to look after and great fun! We helped them with English and they helped us with Spanish (although they primarily spoke Catalan). We spent a lot of time playing with the girls after we collected
… read more them from their holiday programme/ preschool, so generally had the days and weekends to explore the surrounding area, incl Barcelona and Costa Brava.
We had a lovely big bedroom, and our own kitchen and balcony upstairs where the parents had their offices and worked during the day. We shared some meals with the family but mainly cooked on our own in the fully equipped kitchen upstairs. It was the perfect place for us to spend 5 weeks in the Spanish summer. The family often invited us to join them in evening activities and we were lucky enough to spend a weekend away with them at Marta’s home town.
We hope that the family are all doing well, and look forward to seeing you if you ever come to NZ.

The two got on magnificently with the 7 and 1.5-year-old girls whom they picked up from school and then played with them until we finished work. Ben also helped us with various gardening tasks. Natalie spent a month with us and the experience was very good. She had to pick up the 7 and 1.5-year-old girls and play with them until we finished work. She is a calm, cordial, and responsible person.
