We are a new friendly hostel in the beautiful city of Mérida, the capital of Yucatán. Our cozy hostel has 24 beds (one mixed dorm and one female-only dorm) and is owned by a young guy who loves to travel the world and meet new people. Our priority is to offer you the best hostel experience. We don't only provide great facilities but also a friendly environment to create a home away from home for our travelers. We currently have one manager and 3 working employees who are helping us running the hostel. The owner is currently sleeping at the hostel to supervise that everything is running perfectly well.

During your workaway you can improve your Spanish as you will be in contact with locals, you will also have the chance to meet incredible people from all over the world. You will watch and learn how we run a hostel and a cafeteria, and you will have lots of fun while doing it! You will gain experience in the hospitality and tourism sector
Ayuda
We are looking for volunteers to help us with the typical tasks a hostel requires: check-in, check-out, general cleaning and maintenance, entertaining the guests and make them feel at home. We are looking for someone who is easy-going, friendly and with a huge passion for traveling. Part of the help would also be to organize activities and fun events for our guests. We want someone who has cool initiatives and is happy to get creative and look for new ideas.

Alojamiento
The volunteer will have a single bed in a shared dorm (can be a mixed dorm or female dorm only). Every room has air condition and private bathroom. Every bed has a privacy curtain, charging plug, shelf and reading lamp. Plus, two lockers to store all your belongings. Breakfast is included (eggs, onions, tomatoes, bread with peanut butter, jam, butter, coffee, tea, fruit). We have a shared kitchen our guests and volunteers can use and a big fridge. The terrace is equipped with hammocks, sunbeds and a nice little pool to refresh in hot days. We have a foosball table, a guitar, book swap and table games for entertainment.

During your days off you can explore the beauty Yucatan has to offer. Merida is a great city with a very pretty historical center. The beach is only 30 minutes away and just outside the city, we have thousands of amazing cenotes to explore, together with archeological sites and magic towns. Merida is perfectly located to go out and explore. Riviera Maya is only 4 hours away and it makes the perfect getaway to enjoy your days off. You could also take Spanish classes, or start a freediving or scuba course, or what about acroyoga? The options are endless!

This was one of the best volunteer experiences I have had. I was initially going to stay for a month but ended up staying for 3 months.
The hostel is splendid, with comfortable beds, a big kitchen with all the amenities, a relaxing hangout area with hammocks, and a cafeteria with a piano that I enjoyed playing often.
