I had the toughest week of my travels when I came to Bettina's house. After my unfortunate au-pair experience and my friend going home, I was truly lost and alone. I could have not wished for a better host to be honest.

… read more be around, but also totally open to get involved in deep conversations. Even though they had a busy schedule at work, they always had some nice words to me and made sure I had everything I needed. The house was wonderful, full of tiny details and memories. You could really see Tina's personality showing in every corner and if you like reading and literature, it is your place to be. Tina has a great selection of books and can always make such good recommendations. I spent most of my free time reading on the deck, looking into the creek at the back of the garden. Such a calming spot!
They live super close to the bus stop and I would say that the buses come regularly as well. I was not in the best place, so I didn't take advantage of this, which I quite regret, because looking back, everything would have been so easily available in the region. Anyways, I still consider myself really lucky, because Steph offered to take me out on a Friday afternoon and took me bushwalking and to the beach as well. She has incredible knowledge on the local culture, taught me so much about bushfood and also gave me the push to dive into ayurvedic medicine, which became one of my main interests in the moment.
I am super grateful that I could meet you and I truly hope that we will see each other in the future,
Blanka
Blanka is a bright and interesting young woman who was eager to help and learn new things. She put her hand to whipper-snipping, deck oiling and cleaning with equal enthusiasm, leaving the place looking so much better for her stay with us. My housemate and I also very much enjoyed Blanka's company and conversation - she was a pleasure to host!

Her home is beautiful with a lot of personality, and my room was spacious and cozy:) The garden is really nice too, and that is where I did most of my tasks for Bettina such as cutting down dead palm leaves, weeding, glossing the wooden deck, etc. She is growing some epic Dahlias🌷

The town of Nambour is fun to walk around and there are about 5 thrift shops all in walking distance of each other which I loved to go to. Bettina was able to drive me several places, and public transportation is easy to use (just takes a lot longer than driving) but I was able to go on fun adventures to Noosa, Coolum, Caloundra, and several clothing/farmers markets.
Bettina was so welcoming and introduced me to many of her friends. We had a great night at trivia! Bettina is a very caring, generous, and interesting host who anyone would be lucky to stay with! There are many interesting shops, nice cafes, and beautiful nature. I actually became to like Nambour, thanks to Bettina. And I loved and enjoyed having chat with her about what I did in the city. She let me work and spend free time flexibly. So I had really plenty of time to enjoy seeing the city. Besides, her house is very cool. It was really comfortable to stay in. Thank you again.
