    Description

Come join us in our mountain oasis!

We would love to have you involved with making our place special! Glad to have ya.

Nice folks. Artistic and eccentric couple with two grown kids, living the good life in a beautiful place. Gardens, funky projects, good eats, music, and smiles. Homebrewers, chicken ranchers. Black Rock Burners. Bikes, boats, potlucks, and good friends. Nuf said.

Over 225 excellent guest references on couchsurfing, you can check them out there if it reassures you. Ask us for the link. We are new to Workaway, but we love hosting new friends from around the world, near or far, and sharing our special place. We get busy during the summer when Glacier National Park is accessible, so contact us soon for a stay.
Look forward to meeting you soon! Travel well!
    Shelley Jo & Lance

LOTS of amazing trails, rivers, and lovely natural or historic places nearby.

We request that each guest clean their own dishes (unless someone is "in charge" of that task for all), keep the common living spaces picked up (vacuuming, dusting, windows), and/or offer to help with meals (or cook for us, we love that!), some gardening, or a funky art project/work (painting, building creative things, organizing parties, etc.) during your stay. Ideas: Housekeeping, gardening, lounging, chopping wood, singing for us, digging, baking, building, designing, organizing, cooking, creative experiments, entertainment - all welcome!

    Accommodation

Polite and honest people welcome for a night or two, or up to a week. (If you can't hang with being polite and honest for a night, best find somewhere else ;)

Our family loves to host visitors from all over the world who are traveling by foot, thumb, bike, motorcycle or car. Everyone's excitement about being in Montana is great to be around.

Family home, funky garden's all around.
Please note: we have cats and a goofy little dog in the family. If you are allergic to cats, dogs, or fun, you may not be comfortable here. All are loveable though.

Secluded garden-surrounded location in Westside Kalispell. Friendly family of two in house, plus pets and often other guests. Work away folks have access to two private rooms inside home with queen futons. One larger room upstairs, one smaller room on main floor. Shared bathroom and shower facilities.

We also have a "Community space" with fire ring, porch pavillion, cob oven (use with permission), and a comfortable vintage camper "The Ole Goose Egg", also available for private accomodations for guests or work away folks. . No amenities at this Back Back "park", but you can use shower, etc. in the house. It's a sweet campout on your trip to Glacier Park or for events in the Flathead. (If you prefer a bit more seclusion than the two guest rooms in the house). Owners cool with most polite folks. Bike riders welcome and encouraged. Two night minimum stay please.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Glacier National Park - 30 miles away
Bigfork (Spartan Race & ThetaHealing) - 20 miles
Lots of hiking/biking trails and lakes in the area.

    Public transport:
    Public Transportation Access
10 minute walk to downtown. Limited public transportation around valley. We may have bikes, snowshoes or roller skates you can borrow.
    FYI on Transportation:
There is VERY LIMITED PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION in the area. You WILL NOT be able to get around the area on a bus! Taxi, Uber, rental car, personal car, or hitchhike are the only available transport.
    Distances from Kalispell:
airport - 12 miles from any town
train station - downtown Whitefish - 15 miles away
Glacier National Park - 30 miles away
Bigfork (Spartan Race & ThetaHealing) - 20 miles

There is ONE early morning 7:00am shuttle from Kalispell to Glacier National Park only in High Summer season July/August. A couple busses run around Kalispell city & once daily to Whitefish, but that is all.

"Can you drive me?" - We may or may not be able to help you with transportation. Sometimes we are available or exploring the area ourselves - You can ask, but do not expect it/plan on it ;), YOU are responsible for organizing and paying for your own transportation.

We mention this here because sometimes travelers don't realize they are visiting a large rural area without easy public transportation. If you do not come in your own car, you need to arrange transportation or plan time to hitchhike.
