Bonjour, hello, hola, hallo, ciao, zdravo, добрый день, merhaba, salam !
Welcome to our page and to our place ! We are an energetic family of 5 mini and maxi backpackers, who have recently settled down back in Switzerland. Since Alex and Adele met - 8 years ago in Sarajevo, Bosnia - we kept travelling all over the world, as a couple and then as a family. Our last baby was conceived in South America during our last trip and we decided to come back to Alex’s birth country to raise this beautiful family and leave the nomadic lifestyle we love so much for some years (if we manage ;) ). Now it is time for us to enjoy the beautiful and calm Swiss atmosphere with Isidore, 4 years old, Dounia, 2 years old and Zéphir, a few months old.
In this mission, we need your help :D ! Playing with the kids, cooking, cleaning, enjoying our loud but funny company and adding your special note in this symphony while being in a very scenic region in the Swiss Alps… we promise you won’t get bored with our crazy team ! We love to eat, play music, cook, laugh and share.
We live in Chablais, a beautiful region between lakes and peaks, 1 hour away from the cities of Lausanne and Sion. We speak French here, but as you can guess from the greetings, we are a polyglot family. The kids speak French and they understand and can express themselves in Spanish too. It is very important for us that they stay in contact with the beautiful world we live in and its diversity, that’s why we would like to welcome people from all over the world !
We live in a renovated chalet in a very small village called Les Posses-sur-Bex, 900 meters above sea level. We have a double room and a bathroom for guests that you can use while you stay with us.
Fridays will be off as the grand-ma is around to give a hand on that day, and another day in the weekend will be free as well, depending on the plans (yours or ours). We expect +/- 5 hours of work a day. Apart from a train station, there is nothing but happiness in the village (no shop or cafe) ^^, but you can reach the nearest village where you’ll find life by walking 30 minutes (4 minutes by car).
We have been volunteering for many years in every corner of the world so we know what it is to be a workawayer. We want to make your stay unforgettable for you and us, enjoy each other’s company and grow together from this personal and cultural exchange.
We are both teachers (Alex teaches English, German and French as a foreign language and Adele is a primary school teacher), we then would be happy to teach you some language skills if you want. Even if you don’t, it is very likely to happen with our kids !
If you feel curious about us, send us a message ! And don’t worry, dirty nappies are on us !
A bientôt !
