Our place is a wonderful hidden heaven of about 7 hectares, loved in a private valley cut in two by a beautiful river.
It's about 2km away from Sandomil, a pretty, typical village at the feet of the Serra de Estrela national park with one of the best fluvial beaches in the area and all basic services.
The quinta was abandoned about 35 years ago and consumed by the 2012 fires. There was a lot to do but we couldn't help falling in love with it at first sight.
And started this dream....
5 years after, here we are:
Laetitia ( French, 45, artist ), my daughter Amanda ( 10, show girl ), our friend Hugo ( 59, handyman ) and our animal friends 3 cats, 1 dog, 10 chickens, 1 rabbit and 3 sheep.
Those who can talk here ;) speak good French, English and Portuguese.
We are looking for sociable, skilled and inventive people to accompany our family life, give us a hand with general maintenance and improvement of the property.
We would also like to focus on beautification of the Quinta
and thus invite ''people with talent'' to leave a trace on walls and buildings....
Please send us some pics of what you can do ;)
Technicalities:
We live simply but well ( we can very well fit in hedonistic category..;)),.
We are flexible, easy people with a sense of humor but with manners too..;)
We expect the same from you (independent, respectful and clean ).
We usually have of a private bedroom for you with breakfast facilities.
We don't have a special diet and are ALL foods lovers so we should be able to accommodate you whatever is your preference.
You are also very welcome to cook for us too, if you have taste for it...
We mostly like to share family dinners with our guests.
The rest of the day is more flexible, depending on your eating habits, but food is always available.
As we go to town twice a week at least, you'll be welcome to join us for buying your extras or make a ''to buy'' list for us.
As you can see on pics, the property is a quite sportive maze of terraces.
You have to come here in good shape and good shoes to enjoy yourself..
And of course, don't forget headlamps and such to see where you're stepping at night...;)
We have a very basic grey water system feeding our flowers, so bio soaps are a must...
Because of the mountain weather we live in ( big difference between day and night temp.) , you'll need warm clothes even in summer.
And finally, you must have a personal health insurance.
Até Já! Maybe....

I travelled for 10 years before ending up here in the Quinta. I love foraging, and making plant based remedies for the house..I will happily share that kind of fun with you. ...Amanda is a witty kid with a true talent for arts, cooking and showbiz....Hugo likes to build and do about anything outside.... We love to meet people from around the world, play games and share stories....

the 3 weeks we spent together with you , Amanda and Hugo.
I loved doing the mosaic and taking care of the garden and also playing with Amanda.
It is a good opportunity to help at a peaceful quinta and be surrounded by nature.
We had a wonderful, joyful month with Jeanne and Morgane.
Their presence was a true gift.
If you come across them, don't let them slip...;)
