  We are an Australian-German couple. Anna (my wife) works as a counsellor and I (Nicholas) am studying a PhD in behavioural economics. We enjoy board games, hiking, travelling, surfing, cooking, good (and bad) jokes, live music, and discussing anything from history to town planning. To sum it all up, we love good conversations and great adventures.
  
  We moved back to Australia from Germany over a year ago, originally resettled in Brisbane (where I grew up) but found it too chaotic so moved to Toowoomba for the great community and laid back lifestyle.

  We like to learn about people's experience and think that one of the best ways you can learn in life is by sitting down, having a beer, and talking. So if you want to go on an adventure or conversation then shoot us a message so we can have a beer, go on a hike, an exploration expedition throughout the town, skydive, or take a chance on any other of life's opportunities.
  
  If you share our mindset of learning from other people's experiences, then we have no doubt you will be able to learn lots from us too!

  We live 20 minutes walk from the Toowoomba city centre and around the corner from a really funky brewery. We live in a three bedroom house and one of the spare bedrooms would be yours, equipped with a comfy queen bed and storage! We are fairly laid back, though also like living in a clean and organised space (i.e. we are shoes-off in the house kind of people).

  There is a lot to do in Toowoomba! Here is a short list:
  
  Pub trivia at 5 Brothers and the Spotted Cow. Live music in nearly every main pub. Open mic nights at the Irish and the Met. Musical Bingo hosted by Drag Queens at Bodega. Historical walking tours. Painting classes at Pino and Picasso. Multiple different markets on weekends. Performances at the Empire Theatre (like School of Rock). Craft breweries such as Mouse Proof, Volcanic, and Monty’s. Events like the Food and Wine Festival, Crows Nest Rodeo, Beer Festival, and the list goes on. Comedy shows and old timey car meetups. Activities at board game meetups, jazz society meetups, German Stammtisch meetups, and more. Hiking at Tabletop Mountain, swimming at Crows Nest National Park, and kayaking at Lake Cresbrook. Historic walking tours and laneway graffiti art.
