  Before you contact us, please read this first:
  
  • We’re looking for someone to join our family at the end of December 2026 for a minimum of three months, but ideally a longer stay.
  
  • We cannot host couples. Our accommodation is for one Workawayer.
  
  • We cannot assist with the U.S. visa process or with entering the United States. You must already have whatever legal status, visa, or authorization is required to enter and stay in the U.S. for the duration of your visit.
  
  • We’re specifically looking for someone interested in a longer-term experience. We’ve hosted people for shorter stays in the past, but that isn’t what we’re looking for at this time.

  Hi!
  
  We’re Tyler and Laura, a family of five living on the beach in Point Roberts, Washington, just minutes from the Canadian border. We have three young children, ages 5, 3, and almost 2.
  
  We’re a relaxed, active, family-oriented family who enjoys sharing our home with people from different places. We love meeting people with their own interests, experiences, and perspectives and creating a genuine cultural exchange.
  
  Washington is now our primary home, while we also have a home in Maui that we visit for family vacations and parts of the winter.
  
  We’re looking for someone interested in a minimum three-month stay, but ideally longer, who is outgoing, independent, curious, and comfortable creating their own experience. Point Roberts is a very small and quiet community, so it’s important to be someone who enjoys exploring, meeting people, and making the most of your surroundings.
  
  The Canadian border is about five minutes away, Delta, BC is just across the border, and Vancouver is about an hour away. A car is available for getting around and exploring.
  
  Our life is very outdoors-oriented. We spend our time at the beach, boating, fishing, crabbing, swimming, hiking, exploring, traveling, cooking, and spending time with our horses.
  
  We’re also hoping to purchase a farm in Washington and gradually move toward a more hands-on farm lifestyle. We’re excited about having more space for horses and animals and making farm life a bigger part of our family’s everyday experience.
  
  We’re happiest outside and love sharing adventures and experiences with the people staying with us.

  Cultural exchange is one of our favorite parts of hosting.
  
  We love learning about where people come from, sharing food and traditions, and introducing visitors to our corner of the Pacific Northwest. Living right on the Canadian border gives us easy access to both Washington and British Columbia, and we regularly spend time in Canada.
  
  We also have family who live on a large working cattle farm in Canada. Depending on timing, there may be opportunities to visit and experience rural Canadian farm life, horses, cattle, rodeos, and other local traditions.
  
  We spend part of the year visiting our home in Maui as well, so depending on the timing of your stay, there may be an opportunity to experience a very different part of our family life there.
  
  We’d love to learn from you as much as you learn from us.

  We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a busy family household and is happy to pitch in with everyday life.
  
  Help may include household organization and tidying, meal preparation and kitchen clean-up, gardening and outdoor projects, simple home projects, and helping with family activities and outings.
  
  We also love sharing cooking, recipes, and skills with the people who stay with us.
  
  We especially enjoy Workawayers who have their own hobbies, talents, or interests to bring into the household—music, art, cooking, languages, sports, gardening, photography, or anything else you’re passionate about.
  
  We value someone who is respectful, easygoing, proactive, and comfortable reading the room and becoming part of the natural rhythm of our home.

  You’ll have your own private bedroom in our family home, with shared access to the common areas.
  
  We live directly on the beach in a quiet, rural-feeling community surrounded by nature.
  
  You’re welcome to join us for family meals, beach days, boating, outings, and trips, while also having your own time and space to explore and pursue your interests.
  
  A car is available, which is especially helpful here given our location and the limited amenities within Point Roberts itself.
