He is friendly and respectful and has great skills as a joiner, building compost bins and furniture for us while he was here, and helping in the garden, on our community farm, and at our Playcentre. Hannah is super thoughtful when it comes to organizing tasks—everything felt fair, flexible, and appreciated. Josh always brought good energy and interesting chats. Clem… what a legend! Such a curious, chilled little guy—it was a joy to spend time with him.
The garden is beautiful, the food was always delicious, and the overall vibe in the house was just awesome. This is a very special place, and I’m super grateful I got to be part of it for a while.

I had a rewarding experience at Hannah and Josh's place, learning and exchanging about various societal topics. The work depended on the day: gardening and weeding, playing with Clem, house tiding etc, and felt right and fair.
They even let me use one of their extra bike which was extremely useful to go freely anywhere when you don't own a

Marie-Noelle was with us for almost 2 weeks and helped us with lots of housework, cooking, hanging out with our 2 year old and gardening. She was always willing and able to assist in any task, and asked questions when she was unsure. We had good conversations and enjoyed our time with her!
Marc and Marlene are a great pair. They were with us for 2 weeks and we really enjoyed this time with them.
They did a bunch of housework and cooking for us, and a lot of gardening (including at our local community farm) and always performed tasks to a high standard.

We spent 10 amazing days with Hannah, Josh and Clem. There are a wonderful family, very welcoming, great cook and always happy to give some advice about what to do in the surroundings. I was planning a road trip with my friends and wanted to see if i can find a host in new zealand, and this turns out to be such a fruitful experience. Hannah and Josh's home is super cozy and comfortable with a really nice garden. The work varies depending on what they need at the time. When i was there my main job is to accompany Clem (the cutest
… read more baby ever!) and some housekeeping, sometimes they also need a hand in the garden depending on the project. Clem is just so lovely that you just cant resist falling in love with him even you're not a child person. They are really relaxed and welcoming. I am grateful for being able to use the bike to explore Christchurch and the little weekend trip we made to a nearby town 🥝 .
And what makes this even more fruitful is to see their way of parenthood and living. I really respect how they try their best to give Clem a healthy and free environment to grow up in, and how they try to live in a way that is environmentally conscious and with respect to the indigenous community. I will always remember the talks we had in the kitchen or on the car :)
