Miranda and John were kind, generous and welcoming.
The stay was cut short to a week due to constant inclement weather, the rain hindering the repair and painting of external doors and window frames. May is not the time to be in the Southern Highlands is you need to work outside.
We had Gordon and Kathrin come to stay for one week and loved having them about. They jumped in on any job and are both extremely knowledgeable about many things. We stayed at Miranda's for a week and we had a awsome time. Miranda and John are wonderful, kind and open minded people. We'd enjoyed it much helping them out for some little things and being hosted like friends. Thanks a lot for this awsome week!

What can I say? Staying at Miranda's and John's was just awesome! I stayed there for two weeks and they were so kind to let me stay with them as I had issues with my camper van and desperately needed a place to stay while I was waiting for my car to get fixed. We worked for about 4h from Monday to Friday and it was mostly help in the garden -
… read more sometimes physical demanding but they always took care of our wellbeing and paid us with delicious lunch and not to forget the dinner it was wonderful every time and it felt like having dinner with the family. So the tasks didn't feel like work it was more like helping friends in their garden. We also watched a few movie classics with the whole bunch of the family and other workawayers. They always tried to entertain us with movies, playing games or going out for dinner - but they also always gave us time to ourselves and they let us use their car to explore the surroundings. My highlight was the night at Miranda's parents house with a swimming pool and it was delightful to get to know a few more members of the family.

Having Lisa to stay with us was so wonderful. She is incredibly kind and thoughtful, and a very hard worker. She threw herself into any task without hesitation and was also very proactive in doing things. Everything in the kitchen was always spick and span - she just got stuck in and got things done after every meal.

… read more adventure and was very kind to instigate outings with a couple of other backpackers to local waterfalls and markets. She also (very kindly) played Catan with me - even when she perhaps had had enough!
We miss her already but our cats are especially missing her. She had a special way with the animals, very patient and caring. One of the cats has been sleeping on her bed ever since she left.
We wish Lisa safe travels in her gorgeous campervan and all the best with her adventures and new job in WA.Comentarios

I loved that time and thought what a wonderful time it was✨
The house is very clean, large and comfortable. It was surrounded by a rich natural environment, and I was able to see beautiful sunsets and stars.
On weekdays, I spent about 4 hours gardening and doing housework. I was very happy to see that she was happy with how beautiful she was. On my days off, I took them to restaurants and played tennis. All are wonderful memories. Johnny love about his family and his cattle and has a very warm heart. I was also happy to spend time with Miranda's daughter, who is cute, kind and open-minded 😊
It was 10 days full of wonderful memories!

… read more sturdier and rebuilt vegetable beds, not to mention all the meticulous weeding/gardening done by both. Sharing meals, playing board games and watching movies were some of the fun things we enjoyed together. They even taught us a new French card game.
We were really sad to see them go but wish them all the best on their travels and highly recommend them to all.

What about the board and card game family players ? At every time you can ask for a game and they can teach you some good game (Catan …).
We did a bit of gardening and wood building but still with a good mood and your host give you a hand for that.
During our free time we take the road around to enjoy every good hike, lookout and during the weekend we were on camping after their advice.

We could stay with Miranda and Jonathan for three weeks and it's been a beautiful time. They even allowed us to spend Christmas with them and involved us in all family events, so from the very beginning we felt like a part of the family.

… read more work wasn't hard at all. Jonathan has a nice telescope and their area is perfect for looking at the stars (there's very little light pollution). The look through the telescope was really amazing, we've even seen Saturn's rings and four of Jupiter's moons!
Also we've been able to teach Miranda and Jonathan a Bavarian card game and in the end we spent hours playing with them, so if you know any interesting card games - they're totally up for it 😉
In our free time they were always ready to take us out and show us the area. For example, we explored the Fitzroy Falls and Kiama Blowhole together with their amazing kids.
