I had my first Workaway experience with Kieto and Kaylee. I stayed with them for 2 weeks.
I was afraid that I would have difficulties, even with the language. But I was very happy to have had this experience, Kieto was super kind and patient with me when I couldn't understand the language. Very polite and super hospitable, he made me taste
… read more delicious things and gave me the opportunity to visit the city. Kaylee is a dog full of energy, who gave me the opportunity to visit the many parks in the city, walking a lot.
The city is very beautiful, it has beautiful museums and beautiful natural parks. There are many different cuisines and it is possible to eat very good and typical things.
It was a wonderful experience that I will always remember, I absolutely recommend it and I thank my host very much for welcoming me into his home.

Conny was the perfect doggy au-pair for Kaylee, and a splendid housemate. It felt kind of like we had lived together for a while, she was very easy going, respectfuly, and got along with all of my friends. She was happy to do her own thing, but also enjoyed joining me for social gatherings. She both adopted some of my friends as her own, but
… read more developed a bit of her own social life in her free time. She was always willing to help out a little more if the times required it, but also made sure to take her relaxation and travel opportunities.
She really connected well with Kaylee, and even with some puppy related difficulties, was very resilient, refusing to give up and cave to Kaylee's young puppy tantrums, eventually developing a very close, cuddly, and adorable bond that I'm sure will bring them together again at some point. She was good with the walks, always making sure she was relating well with other dogs in the dog park, and learned to do the trainings within reason as well.
Conny, it will be hard to fill your shoes by the next workawayers who come through, but I hope this is not the last time you come through Helsinki.

I stayed with Kieto and Kaylee for two months, and I honestly can’t say anything bad about it.
From the very first day, Kieto made me feel at home by welcoming me into his space, and I was always able to join his friends whenever they came over or simply spending time with him over dinner.

… read more able to take some trips to the Baltic States as well as to Lapland, where he provided me with information as well as hiking equipment that I needed due to the weather.
As for Kaylee, she is the most cuddly and lovely dog in the world. Walking her and training her didn’t feel like work at all. Going to the dog park was especially fun because you get to meet other dog owners and/or play and train with Kaylee.
Of course she’s still a puppy, so sometimes she throws little ‘tantrums,’ which you should be able to handle.
All in all it was such a great experience and if you have the chance to stay with these two you should definitely take it :)

Kaylee is such a loving, social, and active puppy. Taking care of her was a truly rewarding and fulfilling experience. She quickly warmed up to her new pet-sitter (me) and wanted to stay by my side at all times, even around the house.
We had a wonderful time visiting the dog parks around Helsinki; it's also a fantastic opportunity to practice
… read more English, Finnish, or Swedish with other pet owners. Kaylee adores training and craves attention.
Although I didn't get much time to spend with Kieto, as he was away during my stay, we did meet briefly beforehand. He kindly answered all my questions and provided detailed instructions on feeding, training, and more. He has himself travelled the world and will surely provide you with advice or share his stories.
Kieto's apartment is in a wonderfully central area of Helsinki, the Finnish capital. Everything you need is just a short walk away. The neighborhood is safe and peaceful as the apartament is facing a patio.
Since Kaylee is still young, be ready to have patience and stay mindful of her chewing habits.

Natalia was a lovely dog sitter and caretaker of my puppy, as well as caretaker of my home. Natalia stayed with me and my dog for a few weeks while I was away on a longer form trip. The apartment was clean, laundry was done, dog was in good shape, everything was well taken care of. She caught on quickly to the expectations upon arrival, and bonded
… read more quickly with my dog. I got regular updates when needed, but it seems nothing went wrong so not much outreach was actually needed! She handled Kaylee very well, and I have not noticed any bad habits or anything Kaylee may have picked up. All in all, it was wonderful to have Natalia stay with me here taking care of Kaylee. Would definitely take her again (if she's not tired of the pup already).Comentarios
