Alexander and Nele stayed with us for a week, and it was a pleasure to host them. The work was mainly weed eating, weeding and planting, chain sawing plus general diy work. They have a very good work ethic, showed ingenuity, and were always pleasant to be around. They always will be welcome back. We wish them well in their travels
Natsumi and Sungi stayed with us for a week, and it was a pleasure to host them. The work was mainly weedeating, weeding and planting, plus general diy work. They have a very good work ethic, showed ingenuity, and were always pleasant to be around. We wish them well in their travels.
I and my partner stayed for 6 days.
It was very good time.
Chris is kind and funny person, he has some funny stories.
And also he is amazing cook.
We love the food which he cooked and it was really delicious!
Clare is very kindly person and she always spoke to us in a friendly manner.
And she always cared about us.
Moreover, their instructions

If there is opportunity again, we want to stay here and we really recommend to another workawayer to stay here:)

Chris and Clare were amazing hosts! The work was very fulfilling and they worked alongside us the entire time! We highly recommend Rachel and Willem, as very hardworking and lovely couple. During their stay with us, they trimmed our hedges, removed a huge amount of embedded weed mats, weeded thoroughly, and transferred half a truckload of wood chips/leaf(mold) under our plants. Willem installed some bird netting under the roof. After each meal, they tidied

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful week with Chris and Clare. They have a huge garden with an amazing view over Whangārei. They know this area by heart and gave us many tips for trips after work. … read more restaurants in the past, he knows what kind of food European guests like. Everyday I was looking forward to his lunch and dinner. The best part was, that many vegetables came from the gardens we worked on. This was super motivation. In the evening we often talked about various things that are going on in our world. I enjoyed these conversations.
The work itself was mostly outside and in the garden. Chris and Clare were always eager to share their knowledge about plants and gardening so that we were able to learn new things.
We had a wonderful time here and highly recommend coming here if you want to spend some time in Whangārei. There are so many nice places and Chris will tell you where to go. We hosted Gabby and Lutz for a week and were so glad we did! Lutz's experience as an arborist showed as he felled several of our trees, and helped fix our guttering and patio roof. The top floor was left immaculately clean before they left and we were very sad to see them go. We will always have an open door for them. Chris and Claire helped us to get around in Whangarei, which sights we should see, in which stores we could get material for working on our car for travelling.
