Kia ora, I'm Melinda, a traveller from Aotearoa New Zealand with a passion for new experiences. I love taking my time when I travel and spending several weeks really getting to experience a place.
A few things I enjoy on my travels are hiking, climbing. swimming (especially in cold water!) tasty new food and live music. I'm looking for unique experiences and the chance to connect with others.
I am a big nature lover and have an interest in eco-friendly and sustainable ways of living and would love to learn from folks who make these values part of their day-to-day.

Melinda has been our longest stay volunteer this year. Throughout the entire summer she has been a dedicated member of the work away team, always doing her absolute best to give our patrons a great stay at the campground.She also has work incredibly hard with any landscaping or cleaning projects we have thrown at her. Melinda was a fantastic Workaway.
She was a great sport in that the majority of work to be done during her stay was weeding. She was thorough, doing a great job each day. I had to leave for work many days during her stay but I would always return to everything be completed!

(Help with gardening and ...)
I had a great two weeks helping at Zach’s place, where I felt very welcome and cared for. I helped with gardening work (weeding, edging beds, clearing overgrowth etc) to get the land prepared for the summer season. It was enjoyable work and Zach gave me a variety of tasks so I was never bored. Stuart the dog was a total sweetie and made a great TV… read more

I had the best month in this incredible surf hostel! The other staff were wonderful and the chill, family vibe of the hostel is like no other. Because of the small number of beds you really get to know the guests who stay. The house is right on the water with a great beginners surf break a short walk away. The work required was clearly explained… read more

Melinda was like a little energy ball in the house and that only in the good way! I would hear her laughter from miles! Shes very active and social person who would work hard and play hard! Thats the girl who will run in the rain and go skate boarding 2AM! We miss you already Melinda! Hugs from Gran Canaria!! xx
