I met many of their friends and one of the children. I am very thankful that they included me in their social life. Although I couldn't understand most of the conversation, Marie and Christophor were always nice enough to help me catch up on the topic.
The area was great for nature lovers. There are trails for walking, running, and biking. It is also easy to take the train to Dijon.

Marie et Christophe sont les gens vraiment gentilles et je me suis sentie comme un membre de la famille pendant mon séjour entiére. Mes expériences préferées: les repas mangés ensemble (délicieux, simple, avec les legumes du jardin et chaque fois avec un dessert:), les conversations familiales (quand je n'ai pas compris, Marie m'a expliqué le sujet) et le pain de la maison (qui a senti trop bien!). Marie and Christoph are great people. They were kind. The were welcoming. The work was well communicated and fair. They're good cooks. The food was very tasty. I loved where I slept. Un jardin magnifique, des moutons, des oiseaux, des poules, des fleurs, une chouette piscine, des tas de livres pour s'occuper, et un vélo pour visiter ! Le tout teinté des belles lumières d'automne !
Le travail consistait à finir la toiture de la petite chapelle, à creuser les tranchées pour les futurs plants, à aplatir les joints de la terrasse au burin ou encore à tondre la pelouse. En bref, un travail varié, gratifiant et dans un cadre royal !

I had the pleasure to meet 2 of their children while i was there, who are full of energy! I also met some of their friends, as there are always guests passing by the house! I stayed in a hut outside the house, perfect for some privacy.

I was sleeping in the second house they have in my own room with bathroom and all the comfort. I helped them with the raspberry garden during the morning and during the free time they give you a bycicle and it's very nice going around discovering the beauty of the country house. I was super lucky because I met all the 5 kids and all together they are so beautiful, helping each other all the time and playing full of joy.

Une famille vraiment gentille et accueillant!
J'ai passé un temps très agréable chez eux, la propriété est magnifique et j'ai surtout aimé les petits moutons. En plus, je n'ai jamais vu un jardin potager aussi grand, et on a mangé et transformé beaucoup de légumes frais du jardin, ce qui était une super expérience pour moi (on a aussi fait une
… read more crème de marrons délicieuse et j'ai appris à éplucher les marrons!). Pendant les repas, on n'a parlé que le francais, donc je pouvais m'entraîner, ce qui était mon but pour ce séjour.
Quant au travail, j'ai surtout peint les fenêtres et portes de la maison, et aidé un peu avec les gîtes et le jardin. Comme la famille fait beaucoup de choses elle-même (ce que j'admire vraiment!), tout le monde était toujours très occupé. Du coup, j'avais pas mal de temps pour moi-même après le travail. J'en ai profité en lisant, me promenant etc., et en découvrant Dijon et Beaune le weekend.

A truly kind and welcoming family!
I spent a lovely time here, the property is beautiful and I especially fell in love with the flock of little sheep. Apart from that, I have never seen such a big vegetable garden before, and we ate and processed a lot of fresh veggies, which was a great experience for me (we also made a delicious Crème de Marrons and I learnt how to peel chestnuts!). We only spoke French, so I could learn a lot, which was my goal for this stay.
I mostly painted the house's windows and doors, and helped a little bit with the guest house and the garden. Since the family does a lot of things themselves (which I really admire!), they were always quite busy. Therefore I had a lot of time to myself once I had finished work, which I profited from by reading, going for walks and discovering Dijon and Beaune on the weekends.

… read more have everything you need and are feeling happy. They also are very patient in helping you practice French, correcting errors and explaining things whilst never halting the conversation. I really appreciated that.
Marie takes great care in explaining the work, helping you and providing all the tools you might need. I mostly helped with renovating and painting windows, gathering some fruits, and doing some simple cleaning in the guest houses. Times are flexible, no matter how much or how long you choose to work - it will always be highly appreciated. But honestly, with such loving people around it comes to no effort trying to help them as much as you can. It's a very rewarding job and it doesn't really feel like work.
The homestay experience as well is amazing. Apart from being great people, the family also grows and prepares the most delicious fruits and vegetables. They even make their own honey! I have thoroughly enjoyed this "simple" and quiet living: working on the renovation projects during the day and spending time together over simple yet unforgettable dinners in the evening. Not to mention I made bff with the lovely family cat ;)
I can not thank Marie and Christophe enough for the experience they have given me, and all the things they have shared.
