Hello! My name is Jamie and I am currently writing my PhD dissertation. I love to learn languages (I speak English, Spanish, Portguese, and a little Kichwa), explore the outdoors, garden, and teach languages. I am also a very bad guitar player, but I enjoy it all the same.

Quais são suas habilidades?
1. I have a lot of experience with teaching. I began when I was 18 years old teaching English in Barranquilla, Colombia. As a graduate student, I have been teaching courses for the past 5 years in Spanish grammar and composition, and Hispanic literatures and cultures.
2. Growing up on a farm in Wisconsin, I learned a lot about taking care of plants and animals. I am not an expert, but I am very comfortable outdoors working in gardens or with animals and am very willing to learn more.
3. I am learning photography skills little by little.
4. I also have writing, and editing skills from my work as a graduate student and editor of an academic journal.
1. Tengo mucha experiencia en la enseñanza. Comencé cuando tenía 18 años enseñando inglés en Barranquilla, Colombia. Como estudiante de posgrado, he estado impartiendo cursos durante los últimos 5 años en gramática y composición en español, así como en literaturas y culturas hispánicas.
2. Crecí en una granja en Wisconsin, donde aprendí mucho sobre el cuidado de plantas y animales. No soy un experto, pero me siento muy cómodo al aire libre trabajando en jardines o con animales y estoy dispuesto a aprender más.
3. Estoy aprendiendo habilidades de fotografía poco a poco.
4. También tengo habilidades de escritura y edición gracias a mi trabajo como estudiante de posgrado y editor de una revista académica.

I spend a lot of time reading, writing, watching films, and listening to music, and am an amateur actor. With a group of close friends at my university, we have put on several plays written by Latin American writers for U.S. audiences.
