  Good morning (allin phunchay) I am Baptist but my friends call me MAKI. I am 29 years old and I live in a community called Pataqqena in the district of Livitaca, province of Chumbivilcas in Cusco. It is 6 hours by bus from the city of Cusco. It is located at an altitude of 3700m. This place offers scenic spots such as stone forests, waterfalls, and rivers. This site is perfect for hiking. There is a lot of connection with Nature and the local people. In the community we are approximately 400 community members. Almost all are engaged in agriculture. Almost 50% of the people speak Quechua, but Spanish is their second language. Therefore, the volunteer must speak basic Spanish. I undertand enghish. We have a school that offers the community to children. They learn all the subjects there. There are approximately 40 children who go to school. My goal is to encourage and empower children to love their culture, their people and their language more. I would like the volunteers to give support to the children who are interested in their culture and their way of life.
  You can stay at my home in Cusco city close to The Main Square during your 1st day in change a donation and the next day we go to my comunity and show you the all landscapes.
  I have a land of approximately 1000 square meters and for the volunteers I have a small house with 2 rooms, each with 2 beds. This space is exclusively for volunteers

  Soy Bautista pero mis amigos me llaman MAKI. Tengo 29 años y vivo en una
  comunidad llamada Pataqqena en el distrito de Livitaca, provincia de Chumbivilcas, Cusco. Se encuentra a 6 horas en bus desde la ciudad del Cusco. Esta ubicada a una altitud de 3700m. Este lugar ofrece lugares paisajísticos como bosques de piedras, cataratas y ríos. Ese sitio es perfecto para hacer caminatas. Hay mucha conexión con la Naturaleza y con la gente local.
  En la comunidad somos aproximadamente 400 comuneros. Casi todos se dedican a la agricultura. Casi al 50% de la gente habla quechua, pero el español es su segundo idioma. Por lo tanto, el voluntario debe hablar español básico. Yo entiendo ingles.
  
  Tenemos una escuela que ofrece la comunidad a los niños. Allí aprenden todas las materias. Son aproximadamente 40 niños que van a la escuela. Mi objetivo es dar aliento y herramienta a los niños de querer mas a su cultura, a su gente y a su idioma.
  Me gustaría que los voluntarios le den un apoyo a los niños que están interesados en su cultura y en su forma de vivir.
  Puedes quedarte en mi terreno de la ciudad de Cusco muy cerca a la Plaza de Armas el 1er dia por un cambio de apoyo para al dia siguiente dirigirnos a mi comunidad y hacerte conocer todos los paisajes.
  
  Tengo un terreno de aproximadamente 1000 metros cuadrados y para los voluntarios tengo una pequeña casa con 2 habitaciones, cada una con 2 camas. Este espacio es exclusivamente para voluntarios.

  Oportunidades de intercâmbio cultural e aprendizado

  In her free time she could give them classes in braiding leather or straw (vegetable) ties, straw brooms, weaving or give them macramé classes. I can also teach them to cook with potato derivatives. They will get to know the culture and way of life of the Andean man. Also, I would very much like to teach you my native language: QUECHUA. Other options are to learn to spin, to get wool from the sheep, to lacerate the llamas to get their wool since all the animals are semi-wild or to ride the horses. They can also learn how to make clay blocks to build a house.
  
  In su tiempo libre podría darles clases de trenzar lazos de cuero o de paja (vegetal), de escobas de paja, de tejido o darles clases de macramé.
  También puedo ensenarles cocinar con los derivados de la papa.
  Van a conocer la cultura y la forma de vivir del hombre andino.
  Además me gustaría mucho ensenarles mi idioma materna: el QUECHUA.
  Otras opciones son aprender a hilar, a sacar lana de la oveja, a lacear las llamas para sacar su lana ya que todos los animales son semisalvajes o a montar los caballos.
  También pueden aprender a realizar bloques de barro para realizar la construcción de una casa

  My main objective is the exchange between foreigners and the community. So, all kinds of help are welcome here. What matters a lot to me is giving more knowledge to the children of the community. For this objective there is no established plan, but we require the creativity and knowledge of the volunteers. In general, they are free to contribute all their ideas, always respecting our thoughts as well. Some ideas could be planning activities (art, sports,...) and games with the children, going out to the mountains together appreciating the nature we have, teaching Spanish to the children or things like carpentry, design, sewing (I have a machine that they can use ), music (I have some instruments), etc... Another option to help is to work in the production of types of potatoes, types derived from potatoes and types of quinoa. And here we make these 100% handmade products. They could also help a family in the community care for animals such as llamas and sheep in the open. Help to improve the place is always welcome, for example with artistic painting in the volunteer area. For next year, I want to build a big kitchen for the volunteers. I give all these options, but if you have any suggestions, they are all welcome.
  
  Mi objetivo principal es el intercambio entre extranjeros y la comunidad. Entonces, todo tipo de ayuda esta bienvenido en este lugar.
  Lo que me importa mucho darle más conocimiento a los niños de la comunidad. Para este objetivo no hay ningún plan establecido, sino que requerimos de la creatividad y de los conocimientos de los voluntarios. En general, tienen la libertad de aportar todos sus ideas siempre respetando también nuestros pensamientos. Algunas ideas podrían ser planear actividades (arte, deporte,…) y juegos con los niños, salir juntos a las montanas apreciando la naturaleza que tenemos, ensenarles español a los niños o cosas como carpintería, diseño, costura (tengo una maquina que pueden usar ), música (tengo algunos instrumentos), etc...
  
  Otra opción para ayudar es trabajar en la producción de tipos de papas, tipos derivados de papas y tipos de quinua. Y aquí elaboramos estos productos 100% artesanales.
  También podrían ayudar a una familia de la comunidad a cuidar animales como llamas y ovejas en campo abierto.
  La ayuda para mejorar el lugar siempre es bienvenida, por ejemplo con pintura artística en el área de voluntarios. Para el próximo año, quiero construir una gran cocina para los voluntarios.

  Acomodação

  Own house for volunteers with 2 rooms (2 beds in each room) There is no electricity in the house, but 5 minutes from the house, there is internet connection and electricity. I offer food with local products.

  My community is at meters above sea level, it is important to be acclimatized upon arrival. I recommend that you acclimatize a few days in Cusco before coming. In town, there is a bus to get there and out, which runs once a day.
