    Descrição

We're a lively, liberal, alternative family of 3 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs, foster kittens, and a paddock of ponies across the road - and we need help taming the chaos! If you enjoy decluttering, tidying, and cooking for a crowd, we'd love to host you.

    **About Us:**
We're scruffy, untidy, chaotic and noisy. Helpers who have stayed with us have always seemed to have a good time and we really enjoy having them. If you like things to be peaceful and organized we are not the family for you!

    **The Family:**
    - (Me) - Lenka/Mum. I am 44. I work full time as psychotherapist and am studying. I can talk about psychological processes forever and ever. I love swimming, chatting with my friends, walking in the hills and my kids. I am bubbly and friendly and social and warm. I'm VERY disorganized and VERY bad at house work and keeping the house tidy. I'm pretty much a disaster in fact.

    - Stephen/ Kids Dad is 47. He's a builder. He's a quiet, gentle, friendly guy. He loves sailing and riding his motorbike. He's working very hard at the moment and doesn't have time for much more than the bare minimum when it comes to house work. He's also not very organized or good at keeping things tidy.

    - Francios/Lenka's partner/ kids step dad is 52. He is from South Africa. He works as a nurse. He is an energetic, bubbly, enthusiastic guy, with a loud voice and a big smile, who loves cooking meat over a fire and chatting with people about anything and everything. His own 3 kids live over the hill in the Wairarapa, so he spends quite a bit of time driving back and forth from there and sometimes some of them come stay with us too.

    - Coe is 19. He's living in Morocco at the moment being a crazy traveler, so you won't get to meet him, but he's still my baby so I can't leave him out of the list.

    - Isla is 15. She's the most mature person in the house by far and often the only person who knows what's going on. She hangs out with her gorgeous friends a lot, which means her gorgeous gang of friends are always at the house too. She is into being cool and fashionable, in a fun ironic way.

    - Cass is 14. He is a dreamy quirky guy. He has a pony who takes up a lot of his time, but he always likes to bike around the neighbourhood with his friends. He never remembers where he puts anything.

    - Bina is 10. They are non-binary and use they/them pronouns. They are a sweet cheerful happy bundle of sunshine. They don't have their own pony yet, but they ride with their brother. They have lots of sweet 10 year old friends who they want to play with all the time.

    **The Menagerie:**
    - 2 friendly gentle dogs
    - Usually a foster kitten or 3
    - A paddock full of ponies just across the road (we might ask you to help the kids with pony chores)

    **The Chaos:**
With that many people and all their friends, it's pretty much a party/zoo at all times! Lots of fun and lots of noise and lots of chaos. We are always trying to do a better job of keeping on top of things, but none of the adults are very good at it, so as a result the kids are even worse most of the time. Everything is a mess and it's a bit out of hand!

    ** Note:**
Because the house is always so full and we often have extra people staying, don't be offended if you don't hear from us. We only take helpers occasionally when we have capacity for extra people and mental space to direct someone.

    Acomodação

We do not live in a big stylish beautiful house. If you are wanting luxury accomodation we are not the hosts for you!

Our home is simple but functional. It is a bit of a builders work in progress. Our furniture is broken. Everything is scruffy and slapdash and makeshift. Nothing is stylishly decorated. But the kitchen is big and sunny and good to cook in (if it's cleaned) and the sofa is comfortable. There is only one bathroom for ALLL those people. (You might pee in the garden sometimes) But the shower is good and hot (if you can find a window to use it and someone hasnt used all the water).
    The garden is overgrown.

There is a big sunny deck with a BBQ for summer. We have WiFi and netflix.

Helper accomodation is a musty shed at the bottom of the overgrown garden. Again - if you are looking for luxury this isn't the place for you. It's a ramshackle storage space with a bed in it. But its private and away from the noise and has a comfortable bed. If you have a campervan you might choose to stay in that.

Raumati south is a cool little town 50 mins train ride to wellington city. its walking distance to the beach and to beautiful queen Elizabeth park. There are some beautiful hikes you can do. We have a cool cafe that plays live music regularly.

We will of course give you use of the house, food, shower, wi fi, washing machine etc like a member of the family.

There are buses and trains nearby but we would also always endeavour to give you a ride places or let you use a car if that was needed.

We are happy for helpers to have visitors and generally use the home as if it was their own.

We are part of a lively busy community and have many wonderful friends. We have shared dinners with friends often.
