Hello!

My name is Carolin, I am 29 years old and I'm from Marburg, a small university city in central Germany.

I work as a teacher at a secondary school and teach English and Spanish (I am fluent in both languages). My students are between 10 and 19 years old. At school, I am responsible for organising the exchange programme to Spain and I am also an Erasmus+ teacher, organising projects with schools from all over the EU. I'd love to spend some time abroad in order to further improve my language skills (keeping up my level of Spanish in Germany is a challenge!) but also to experience the cultures of the countries I teach my students about.

I‘d love to find a host family that wants to include the Workawayer in their family life. I am an independent person and have no problem doing things on my own, but I love to learn about culture, so spending time with the family outside of the work hours would be wonderful :) Since I have stayed in very different host families I am very open to different lifestyles.

My experience as Workawayer:
In 2025 I stayed in the Valencian Community, Spain to work with a three-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl (mostly playing, some cooking and household help).
In 2024 I stayed in Asturias, Spain to work with a seven-year-old girl (mostly playing).
In 2023 I stayed in Mallorca to work with a five-year-old boy (mostly playing, some cleaning).
In 2020 I stayed in Ireland and worked with a a twelve-year-old girl (playing, cleaning, cooking).

I would describe myself as a very open and caring person. I'm also very organised and independent. In my time off I read, bake, play the guitar, swim, teach lifesaving, run and go to the gym.

Since I am a teacher at a public school, I am only available during my school holidays.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I teach English and Spanish at a secondary school, so I could teach either language during my stay or simply speak English to the kids while playing.
In my early twenties I did an internship in a nursery school and volunteered in summer camps for children and teenagers where I organised activities and day trips and had lots of fun spending time with many lovely children.
I am also a trained lifeguard and once a week I volunteer teaching lifesaving where I mostly teach adults. I have a first aid certificate that I renew every two years.
During my university studies I worked as a tutor, a waitress and a cleaner.
