June 15th 2026 was my 5 year anniversary for being on the road!..and I absolutely love it!!!Choosing to join workaway was truly one of the best decisions of my life...
From ocean beaches in Ghana ,to the pasture land of Estonia, to the Himalayan mountains... I have had so many wonderful experiences and made so so many lifelong friends!
I am a retired carpenter from america and I am 64 years old...when people discover this fact they are usually very surprised...I certainly don't feel it!
I hope and believe that I have helped pretty much all of my hosts in very substantial ways, and have heard more than a few times that they have never hosted anyone who has worked as energetically.
I have extensive experience with DIY building projects,landscaping,decluttering,organizing,
etc. I am profiscient and comfortable while having a great amount of respect for and with most power tools including chainsaws...
I have strong improvisational skills and love creating new beautiful organized spaces using what is readily available at the place where I am...
I do not have any problem being in isolated rural environments or active urban centers... I have gotten along very well with the overwhelming majority of my host and also seem to get along extremely well with children and animals!
So if you choose to host me- let's get some things done and have some fun while we're at it!!! -

Robert came to stay with me for a week. He cut the hedge and he used all the odd bits of wood I had left over from the renovation of my cottage to build a shelter for my caravan and he even made a little corner bench as part of the construction. It looks great, thank you Robert.
