Hi I'm Valentina, a 44 years old Neapolitan woman :-) Something about myself:
I studied psychology and I lived in South America, where I worked for different NGO as psychologist and social worker.
In 2010 I moved to Ireland where I lived for 7 years. There I learnt about self sufficiency, organic gardening, fishing, blending and dispensing herbal remedies.
I'm a qualified massage therapist, trained in Swedish massage, Thai massage, reflexology, sport and deep tissue massage.
In 2018 I bought my piece of land in Portugal, after travelling and volunteering as workawayer for a year.
It's a little paradise, surrounded by nature and only 10 minutes driving to the beach.There is a pond on the property and a small stream too. There are over 6000 m2 of land with fruits trees, sheep and bees. I also have 5 chickens and 2 sweet dogs.
I like practicing yoga, acroyoga and I love dancing! I enjoy hikes in the forest, good food, wine, music, movies and spending time with friends. I love working with my hands, creating beautiful (and not so beautiful) things, fixing broken stuff, restoring, renovating.

For big renovation work I have always been hiring local tradespeople, I'm absolutely not looking to replace locally paid workers with unpaid volunteers.
I welcome volunteers in my house as friends and I want them to have great time and a good learning experience at my place. I always make sure volunteers feel comfortable with tasks and enjoy what they do. We work together as a team and we learn from eachother.
Many volunteers have become good friends and they regularly return to my house to spend some time together.
I have been a volunteer myself and I understand how important it is to make volunteers feel welcome and treated like family.

At the moment I can offer the house loft with comfy bed and ensuite bathroom.

In their time off, helpers can relax at the stunning Sao Martinho do Porto bay, check the famous Nazaré Giant waves, or visit one of the surrounding historical towns, like Alcobaça or Caldas da Rainha. Helpers can also enjoy hiking as the area offers amazing paths in the forests. There are yoga classes and dance classes I go to regularly, volunteers are welcome to join me!

We absolutely loved having Olesia around! She helped with many many many different tasks, no job was too difficult or challenging for Olesia.
