Hola!
Im Norah, a Celtic soul (Galicia, Spain).I am currently doing some remote work after I had to pause my project due to the Covid.
I worked in the travel industry as a freelance contractor creating travel itineraries of History, Gastronomy and Apellations of origin in order to develop immersive travel as a reality.I am eager to create connections between avid explorers and the artisans and creatives of the remote unspoilt Spain.
I am curious, love reading and writing, history of all things enchants me and I enjoy a good chat. Let me know if you think we could be a fit!
Im currently living between Menorca (Spain) and Indre et Loire (France) since November 2023.
Best,

Quais são suas habilidades?
It is always hard to define ourselves, so I will write below informations that speak about some things I know I can do because I've done them before:
1. Housesitting, animal and plant care:
I did house-sitting in a farmhouse in Scotland for 3 weeks and another one in the island of Menorca for almost 2 months.
The Scottish stay included horse minding, grooming and getting them in and out the stables, plus looking after the Border Collie and hens =)
The house in Menorca also had two dogs to walk daily and a fairly big garden to water and look after, plus collecting the vegetables and fruits from garden to then make pickles and marmalades.
2. English and Spanish teaching
I taught English to young students (aged 5-10) when i was in high school, as I went to a bilingual Irish-Spanish school since the age of 11 years old.
My first workaway experience (2010) was teaching Spanish to adults on one-to-one sessions and conversational classes in Viena and Brighton.
2. DIY:
I have done sanding , varnish and paint of:
Wooden boats, Indoor galleries, coastal cottages & conservatories
I love painting and contributing to interior design planning.
3. Gardens :
I love plants, forests and everything around them. I worked for 1 month in a large vegetable garden in Cadiz, specialized in aromatic herbs.
I dream of soon grow an edible garden somewhere rustic and unspoilt.
4. Kitchen & Cooking
There is not one cell of me that does not resonate with what a kitchen symbolizes. Since I’m a kid my parents gave me "the notion of transformation of the source" to nourish our bodies and minds; for them it was all about caring for the economic system behind agriculture, port towns, and the hundreds of lives depending on it.
I love all around hosting and having people gathered for good talks around great fresh homemade food! Specially i enjoy the creative improvisation that cooking allow, as a melting pot of culture, people and travels.
In 2016 I launched my entrepreneurial project selling and planning History & Gastronomy itineraries in rural areas of Catalonia, Euskadi and Galicia, boutique events with farmers and fishermen, showing the know-how alongside a Historians or archaeologists that I would hire to make the trip together.
5. Translating and Language Support
* I worked as translator for different magazines (2012-2015)
* I helped translate websites, blogs, commercial leaflets for two boutique Hotels in Spain.
* I have been an interpreter for foreign companies while I was based in Barcelona.
6. People
I have always loved being around people:
* My family owned a hotel during 10 years and I was the "young" PR. I like to think that they were my most free summers ever, giving advice and even traveling around the region with those families and their kids :)
* I worked at Front Desk & and Guest Relations during my early years.
* I am a freelance in my field because I believe there is hope in the way people think of travel swifting global patterns affecting and dismantling economies and environments.
In general:
I am flexible, good listener and team person, prefer the outdoors and detailed work, I love the sea more than I can express and hope to keep exploring paths that make me have less inner questions.Idade

Algo mais...
With me : I have a driving license (2003, 15 points) and a very well-educated Border Collie female named Sail. She is chilled, discrete, loves children, elderly people, other dogs, other animals, she's fun and not the crazy active type like other dogs of her breed 🍀
Looking forward to help, learn and contribute to local projects here :)Mais algumas informações
