Hello, I'm Gabriella! I'm 25 years old and am passionate about nature, learning, and adventure.

I graduated from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine which is a hub for young naturalists, environmentalists, and adventurers. Over my four years there, I studied geology, ecology, natural history, ornithology, paleontology, gardening, homesteading, animal husbandry, sailing, cooking, and more. love learning and sharing what I learn with family and friends.

Since graduating, I've sought out workaway experiences as a way to continue to learn and explore the world around me. My past experiences include being a Nanny and dogsitter in Ireland, volunteering in Orleans, France as a house sitter and gardener, volunteering in Angles Sur L'Anglin, France as a farmhand and pony sitter, volunteering in Wicklow, Ireland as a gardener, and volunteering on Rathlin Island as a seaweed farmer.

In 2024, I shifted gears and took a full-time position at a creche/daycare in Ireland, which has been one of the most incredibly rewarding experiences ever. I've worked there full time throughout 2024 and 2025. When I'm not with the kids at school, I enjoy planning trips around Ireland, watching movies with friends, and taking aerial silks classes at a local circus center. Fitness and wellbeing are top priorities for me, and I maintain a healthy lifestyle through good food, exercise, and mindfulness.

Healthy eating has been a lifelong passion of mine, stemming from my gymnastics background. I’ve always felt my best when fueling my body with nutritious foods, which drives me to continue exploring nutrition and cooking.

In addition to my love for fitness and health, I enjoy baking, going for walks in nature, visiting museums and aquariums, spending time with pets, painting, crafting, reading, and traveling.

After a fulfilling 2 years teaching in Ireland, I've decided to move to London for a brand new cultural exchange adventure. I'm looking to start as soon as mid-February. If you think I might be a good fit for your family, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you!

*Note about my reviews*
A few years ago, I arrived to a host in Ireland and left immediately because the living conditions were not safe. I reported the host to Workaway, and unfortunately, the host left a 1-star review in response.
While this was a rare and disappointing experience, it hasn’t changed my love for cultural exchange and meaningful connection through Workaway. I’m looking forward to meeting more kind, communicative, and respectful hosts in the future.

Employment History-

Preschool Gymnastics Instructor: taught basic gymnastics skills and games to children ages 4-6
Residential Advisor for College of the Atlantic: managed a campus dormitory, assigned cleaning tasks, organized events, community building
Kindergarten Tutor (science and nature) : met with kids after school to explore the outdoors
Ice Cream Shop Employee: in charge of opening and closing the store, keeping the storefront clean, greeting guests, serving guests
Daycare and Afterschool Practitioner: led classroom activities from ages 3-11, engaged in creative play and outdoor activities, collected children from school.

*I do not have professional experience as a chef, but I am an avid vegan/vegetarian chef and baker at home. My dad's family owned a restuarant and passed on much of their culinary knowledge to me. I am able to follow recipes or create my own.

I love watching movies and TV shows! Some of my favorite films are Pirates of the Caribbean, Adam Sandler movies, Saorise Ronan movies, and Frozen. Some of my favorite TV shows are Merlin and Anne with an E.
