Martine and Josh arrived at the farm as a gift for me. I wasn't having the best time of my life, and they were great therapists (lol) and definitely brought a lot of positive energy to me and the project. What impressed me was their maturity, even though they were so young. They quickly integrated into the farm's dynamics and were very caring and respectful. Josh used his design skills to make some signage using natural dyes, as well as helping with meal preparation with his culinary skills. Martine impressed and moved me with the 5-minute video she planned, filmed, edited, and published (and she did all of this in practically a week). She also managed the project's Instagram profile, with many other posts she planned and published. I don't have the space to describe all the wonderful qualities of this beautiful couple, but I can say that they have become my friends and are welcome whenever they want to return. I hope your path is even brighter and that the universe brings clarity in moments of doubt about which path to take. Lots of hugs!!

I spent a week at Vittorio’s home, on a hilltop where peace and focus come naturally, allowing you to fully dedicate yourself to the project without outside distractions. Vittorio introduces you to a self-sufficient way of living, involving you in a variety of tasks – from harvesting tomatoes to building a tettoia. He is an excellent teacher, sharing his knowledge of permaculture while also immersing you in the Italian language. During my stay, I joined him at a festival where he gave a talk on wild herbs. It was there that I truly saw his dedication and the enthusiasm he inspires in those he teaches. When I left the enchanting Tuscan landscapes, I carried with me a little recipe book filled with dishes made from homegrown ingredients. Grazie Vittorio!

Having Mariano with us these past three months was truly a blessing. From the very first day, you weren’t just a volunteer — you became part of our family. Your kindness, positivity, and willingness to help made a difference every single day at the hostel and in our lives. We will always remember the many laughs, the coffee moments, and the way you embraced our culture as if it were your own. The hostel feels a little emptier without you here, but we know this is not a goodbye — only a “see you soon.” You’ll always have a home with us in Kosovo, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming you back, whether as a volunteer or simply as our brother and friend. With love and gratitude, Taibe, Avni & Malsor

I only planned to stay with Kerrie for 1-2 weeks but ended up staying almost 3 because I had such a good time! The dogs (Kellie, Inca, and Forest) are absolutely adorable, the chickens very cute (and it was lovely to eat fresh eggs!), and Kerrie was a good host and a great person to talk to. I re-organised the kitchen and tool shed, helped with gardening and some renovation work, and did a lot of general housework, including cooking and baking. Kerrie let me do my own thing in peace but was clear in her instructions and easily available whenever I needed her, including by text when I was taking care of the animals for a weekend while she was away. It was especially nice to get to be part of Kerrie’s life for a bit; I went with her to a birthday party, her grandson's graduation service, and even whale watching, all of which were a great experience. I really got an in-depth inside into an Australian life :) Thanks again to Kerrie (and Paul) for a lovely stay!

This school experience has changed my life. Salvatory and Veronica welcomed me and a couple other volunteers and helped us feel right at home. The kids are so precious, and the teachers' hearts for them is so inspiring. I didn't stay long here, I think an extra week would've been good to feel more settled in, but in my short time I got to learn so much about their culture and personal stories. Come ready to learn! This was my first week in Africa, and I'm so thankful I already got to meet such wonderful people.

Nadege and I spent a wonderful week together and I was sad to see her leave. She was a great help to me at a time when I was slowly recovering from a nasty cough and cold. Every job I gave her she did thoroughly and proficiently. This included preparing and planting a potato bed, weeding a glasshouse, bringing in firewood, vacuuming and cleaning, food preparation and walking my dog most days. Lulu loved her! Nadege is friendly, engaging, interested in learning new things, caring and generous. I unreservedly recommend her to future hosts.

Tayo stayed Here 3 weeks in august and time passed much too quickly She has a wonderful good mood and managed to adapt immediately by arrival to our forest life She worked always thoroughly and contributed to the merry life of the youngsters here. Her beautiful London British accent was a nice experience among our many english variants from all over the world. We give her the very best recommendations

It was really nice to have Marie here in our place. Even though she was at her first workaway experience she was quickly part of the family. She cooperated with whatever needed and was always ready to challenge her limits. She never complained for anything. We did a lot of work together and for this I thank her a lot. She is of course always welcome to come back here or just to pass by to say hallo whenever she wants.

I really got on very well with Zoe. she helped me a lot in the various activities we did during that time, both inside and outside the house. Zoe is a willing, nice and intelligent girl and her contribution in the evolution of this project was fundamental. Thank you again and I hope to see you again in the future. 🍀

Franzi & Tjaya were lovely young women. Very chatty and open to sharing their culture with us. Perfect English and happy to help around the house. They were great with the kids and it was so nice to come out from getting them to bed to have the dishes done. They're most welcome back here again during their travels.

Maree and Toni where the perfect first host for us! They taught us a lot about the native plants and birds of New Zealand and where always eager to share their knowledge. Every day they cooked delicious meals for us and even took us on a road trip on the weekend! The work was very diverse so it never got boring. They also took care that we didn't work too hard and also found alternative work if the weather wasn't suited for gardening. All in all we had a wonderful time at there place and really felt at home. Couldn't have asked for a better host to start our journey through New Zealand!

Jessie was very welcoming and we had a great time at her house. We met her very kind family and spend an awesome weekend house and pet sitting. While the work was heavy we didn't need to work a lot per day which made it easier for us to relax and explore the surroundings together with her cute dog! All in all we are very happy to have had the chance to be a part of Jessie's family for a week and enjoyed our time there.

Enes stayed with us from April to July 2025. His personality is very easy to have around: a rather quiet person and a deep thinker, yet open for any type of activities and fun! We had great conversations about cultures, religion, life-style and "the world in general" Household, children, aged people: anything connected with heart he does naturally. So invite Enes when you need good company and a reliable person for the usual household scores and someone reliable, steady and always friendly but not insecure! If you need help for DIY projects or anything big, be aware he truly is a reliable helper but not a project-manager: for these tasks he needs your supervision and clear instruction. His language skills are AMAZING, he speaks several languages und managed to learn german including proper (!!!) grammar within a few months. His lovely personality is his biggest gift. So he helped me a lot with the care for my aging dad, having great conversations, visits and running errands for him. Plus I got turkish meals and Coffee and absolutely loved it! Within the few months he became a family member, just slipping into our time tables but also continuing his studies with great discipline and genuine interest. I have fond memories and am very grateful for this time together!

Malcolm was the perfect guest and easily fitted into our daily life in a very relaxed way. He seemed to me a person who worked hard, fought hard to achieve his life goals and an extremely intelligent guy. He visited an institution that cares for underprivileged children that we support here, the children loved him and he did a good job there. We shared fun sociable moments over food and went on to visit some places together. He was also able to spend time apart independently very comfortably. He's very good and entertaining himself and attending to his own needs. It was a very satisfying and easygoing living dynamic. He was always willing to teach us any questions we had in our English learning. He taught us so much. Malcolm is truly a great guy - Smart, humble, honest, positive and genuine. We miss him already and we hope to see him again one day.

I stayed with Marina and Roberto for a week and it was very nice! Roberto and I worked very fast as a team around the house. We created a nice workshop, moved a lot of furniture and cleaned many things in the house. I left my comfort zone a few times (concerning the work) but Roberto never pushed me but supported me. He gave me "Workwear" so my things wouldn't get dirty, which was very kind! The place can feel a bit isolated but is in the very beautiful countryside of the hills. If I would have had a car, I would have driven around a bit to explore more. The accommodation was perfect and the food Marina cooked everyday was excellent! Overall I really enjoyed my stay, both of the hosts are very funny and kind and I was very happy that I could improve my Italian skills as well.

I loved my 3 weeks in Patrik and Natalie's house. Such a beautiful location with a lot of life in it. Plenty of organic veggies and beautiful animals. They have such a chill and pure vibes and you can tell they love nature and everything they do so much. There's a lot to learn from this way of living! Enea is such a energetic and happy kid and also very friendly! I love so much the wagon project too and I really hope to come back and be involved a bit more in the future. Definitely recommend a visit to this biodiverse paradise. Thank you so much for everything and for making me feel part of the family. See you soon!

Nicki has done a lot of Jobs in her short time with me. She worked in the garden as well as in the house and was a real treat to have. She loves clear communication and clear timetables, and if you host her you will meet a person who is able to observe what is needed most and going to act on it. Not independedly but with communicating so there is clarity about your tasks. Since she is a working nomad she needs time and space to work and some time to be creative! Please check out her Youtube channel Nicki_weltenbummlerin. She is a very conscious, considerate personality and puts her experiences and wisdom in words for the public. She stayed only one week but: Nicki, I miss you, please come back any time in the future!!!

Hello everyone, I was lucky enough to stay with Alva and her family, originally for 3 weeks, but I ended up staying for another week. I spent a lot of time with Papa Duncan, and everything went well. This family is very welcoming, kind, and always keen to make sure I didn't miss anything. Their property is magnificent, with its greenery and animals, and their two dogs are always eager to be petted, especially Mounti :-) :-) Thank you again for this warm welcome and I wish you and your children all the best.
