Mauro and Yose have such a beautiful family and tea house! They are great hosts, so acommodating, positive, and patient with our (sometimes bad) Spanish! Haha. It's impossible not to love them right away. The tea house is so cute and the whole property well- maintained, the volunteer house feels like home; warm and cosy, we loved living with the other volunteers and made friends straight away! We feel so lucky to have been a very small part of making this place what it is. We are so happy to have met you all and learnt so much in such a short time! Thank you so much for everything :) (P.S. Meliquina is stunning, we'll be back to visit in the summer!!)

We had a truly wonderful experience hosting Mahshid. She brought such a calm, gentle and loving energy into our home from the very first day. She is extremely respectful, very responsible, and consistently approaches her tasks with responsibility and care. Mahshid works with joy. She helped us with so many things — from deep cleaning, to putting poles into the ground for a fence, fixing bamboo on the fence, cooking, and keeping everything beautifully organised. She learns quickly, works carefully, and approaches every job with a positive attitude. Our shy dog Kayla became friends with her in no time. It was lovely to see how naturally they bonded. We are grateful for all her help and the peaceful presence she brought to our place. Sorry that our feedback comes a bit late. We can honestly recommend Mahshid to any future host. She is dedicated, kind, reliable, and very easy to have around. She is welcome back to us anytime. Herbert, Janet, Ätti & Kayla

Meeting and hosting Alice was a joy and a nice experience. She is very kind and helpful, as well as thoughtful. She helped out a lot around the house and with some diy projects. She taught me a lot about her culture and really helped me with learning Taiwanese Mandarin. She is a great teacher and also a great cook! We had a great cultrual exchange and created a good friendship. I would definitely reccommend her to any host!

It was a pleasure hosting Rowan, Katrin and sweethearts Mara and Hannah. During their stay, they accomplished a huge amount of work, including clearing beds, transforming our whole vegetable patch ,tidying and reorganising, planting cover crop, planting trees, clearing a lot of invasive species and many more. Mara and Hannah were especially helpful, assisting with sowing seeds and planting seedlings, and our children loved spending time and playing with them. They also helped us with a bonfire which was lots of fun and definite team work. They worked independently, managing their own time, and approached every task with diligence. They were thoughtful, easy to communicate with, and a joy to have around. I would be happy to host them again and highly recommend them to other hosts.

Damián and Mari are amazing!! We consider them family! it's amazing how quickly and effortlessly we connected and became good friends. The work is really satisfying and relaxed, and we’ve learned so much- Damian and Mari are masters of creation; building, art, music, and just amazing genuine people, with warm hearts and such a beautiful home- it’s difficult to leave this place. Also if you’re a dog person, Anika is the sweetest and friendly dog, we took her on walks down by the river (natural paradise right near their house!) Thank you guys so much for being the best. We’re thankful for you both, feel lucky to have met you, and can’t wait to see you again :) Tom and Megan

Kerstin & Rosi were enriching our place with their spirit, humour and their huge energy to work in the garden, Not only they prepared award winning pear chutney, they transformed a big chunk of our big garden from a jungle into a place to be. We really enjoyed the time with them, and would highly recommend them to whomever they might apply to spend some time with. Thanks Rosi & Kerstin!

Izzy stayed with us for about 4 weeks. We perceived her as a friendly, reliable, hands-on person. She very well contributed to the managment of our kitchen and household: cooking, light cleaning, organizing the shelves and drawers and doing odd taks around the house have been a great support to us. Enjoying an evening dinner or beer on the balcony was part of the cultural exchange we appreciated.

my time at the British language school was filled with cultural exchange, fascinating stories and unexpected connections. I enjoyed being able to freely converse with locals and learn first-hand about Moroccan culture. My time at the volunteer house involved lots of laughter, blossomed friendships, amazing shared meals and trips! don't hesitate to join this workaway

Scrivere un feedback per Grainne è come scrivere qualcosa che ti fa pensare all' Irlanda, un luogo che non abbiamo mai visitato ma che attraverso Grainne (durante il mese che ha trascorso con noi) abbiamo un po' scoperto lentamente, piacevolmente, immaginando i suoi paesaggi, la sua musica e la sua storia. Grainne, attraverso i suoi racconti e anche i suoi famosi "silenzi"(che in un certo senso parlavano ed erano anche piacevoli), ci ha trasmesso molto, anche il suo orgoglio di essere "irlandese" traspare dalla sua personalità: calma, riservata, educata, discreta, nonostante abbia solo 18 anni sembra più matura, ma nello stesso tempo sembra una fanciulla uscita dalle favole, da quei racconti di fate e folletti che abitano nelle terre irlandesi 🧚🧙. Ha svolto tutti i compiti assegnati da Fernando con attenzione, precisione ed interesse e la stessa cura l' ha portata in cucina, cosa che anche Silvia ha apprezzato molto e insieme abbiamo preparato tante ricette, pizze e marmellate 🍕🥧🍯. Che altro dire, siamo stati benissimo con Grainne e se un giorno vorrà tornare la nostra 🏠 è aperta. Grazie Grainne

We enjoyed the company of Guillermo. Taking account of his age, he had many interesting life experiences to share. Being an enduring urban dweller, he had to adjust to country living which, sometimes was complicated (i.e.: mosquitos loved him!). He learned quickly all gardening tasks I gave him and accomplished them to my entire satisfaction. As he said, he was unlucky in that we had a strong heat wave/drought during his stay and he had to spend a lot of time watering, which is somewhat boring. I strongly recommend Guillermo.

I stayed for one week doing the 25 hour photography option. The place is amazing, very beautiful, the room was comfy, the people are nice, and the food was delicious. There are so many spots to swim in the river and it's worth it to check them all out. Doing photography was very relaxed, and while I came into it a bit unsure of what I was doing, Jesse was very helpful in giving me things to focus on. I spent my time mainly taking videos and time lapses of the river but also of the other volunteers in the garden and some activities like the salsa class. All in all I had a great and relaxing time. Gracias!!

I had the best time at Marions and Denises place! I stayed there for around two weeks and haven't even had a chance to get homesick🥰 they both are lovely and I felt very welcomed! Marion showed me around their beautiful gardens, where most of my work was done. We built a fence for their chicken and ducks and did some general work in the gardens. She always gave me great advice and I will take all this knowledge back home✨️ Denise was a fabulous cook - I am still dreaming of all the food she made! I had some great conversations with them both, and loved to learn something about their way of living 🌿 I absolutely recommend them to everyone who wants to have a great time in lovely warm family surroundings🤍 Thanks for the great time!!

Rachel stayed with me for two weeks. It was a really nice meeting; she is very kind, helpful and flexible and we immediately felt at ease. She helped me learn a bit Spanish and provede to be a very skilled teacher. She also helped me look for hosts for my future experience as workawayer, giving me many iseful and effective tips. At home she was a great help with cleaning and preparing some meals, even anticipating some of my request. I'm very sorry she couldn't stay longer!

One of Vera’s qualities is her perfectionism and determination, which helped her stay committed even with more complicated tasks (especially in the building area) and complete them in the way they should be done. When a task needed to be done, she was always motivated to help us finish it. She also has a sense of deep self-reflection. Communication with her was flowing, and since we live in a more community-based setting, this is important. She has a warm and positive vibe around her. She helped create many evening gatherings that were meant to be fun and bonding. She is a good and hardworking person, open to learning, growing and connection.

We had the wonderful experience of meeting Anja and her family and helping them with their apartments. They answered all our questions very well! Everything has always been very decisive, and we really appreciate that! We appreciate their openness to welcoming our music to their winery. While we were tasting their wine, we also performed our musical show. This helped us to continue with our personal project. We also know that it was something that travelers really enjoyed. So it has been a win-win situation. It was wonderful to be able to help us in this way. The place is very peaceful, and there is a lot of nature around it. The little beach, just a 15-minute walk away, is a great treasure. And the river runs very close to the house. When it rains and the river rises, it is wonderful to hear its current from the house! It is a special place to be at peace. We are very grateful for the experience!

A 5-star family in Provence! :) I spent about ten days with Lucy and her family. This was my first Workaway experience and it truly exceeded my expectations! Everyone was warm and welcoming! They made me feel comfortable from the very beginning, were very flexible, and even supported me through a few unexpected struggles. I felt surrounded during my solo trip and made it much better! I highly recommend this family without hesitation!

Liva has been with us for a couple of weeks and she has been another 5 star volunteer: good worker, how likes to finish what she started, with good eye and hand, learning fast just observing,... and also a good and sweet person to stay with, not very talkative but enough to have good conversations, with her own opinions, and showing interest and asking about many things. She is respectful and made me feel she had appreciate all the things I tried to share with her. She had work well alone, with me but also in team with Sarah, another volunteer with whom he shared some tasks and the room during first days. After all a good workawayer we could recommend to anyone. We hope we will meet again in the future!

Pasamos dos semanas muy lindas en el Hostel en Filandia. El pueblo es encantador y el hostel muy acogedor. El equipo nos recibió muy bien y el hostel tiene una energia muy agradable. Un agradecimiento especial a Ángela, Alejandro y Freddy, quienes fueron comunicativos y siempre se mostraron disponibles para explicarnos las tareas: ayudar en la recepción, lavandería y otras tareas del día a día. Todo estaba bien organizado y fácil de entender. El intercambio fue lo acordado y estamos muy agradecidos por la oportunidad. Recomendamos muchísimo este voluntariado, vamos a extrañar el lugar y a Gabriel también! 🐱

Loevely host and lovely home We stayed with Lydia, Alfonso and the kids for two weeks and we really enjoyed it. They open up their home in a very admirable way and you very quickly become a part of the everyday life. Lydia and Alfonso are very eager to tell about the area, country and the language, so the cultural exchange is very giving. The evenings are filled with laughter and funny conversations with both them and their lovely kids. The work on the farm varies a lot, and sometimes you dont know the plan for tomorrow or later in the day, but Lydia and Alfonso are good at listening to what you want to do and finding tasks that suits your wishes. You share your time here with a lot of chickens, turkeys and other feathered creatures walking around freely, so you need to be comfortable with that also. Their kitchen is always open and lunch and dinner is shared if you want to. Eating schedule is Spanish, you'll get used to it😉 Bonus info: The area in Cantabria is never ending with beautiful places Lydia bakes amazing cakes ☀️☀️☀️
