We had the most amazing time with Clementine! We all got along right away and it was like we had known each other for a long time. Clementine was an excellent care giver to our animals and took on our daily routines very well. She took notes in the beginning to be sure not to miss or forget anything until those routines became her own. She did daily wound care for one of our animals, cleaned stalls, kept many many water sources full and clean during our extremely hot summer for nearly 65 animals and of course feeding times which were done accurately and always on time. We learned wool carding together as this was our first year processing our sheep wool. We also built and installed a fantastic door on the back of our barn where no door had previously been. Clementine also took initiative on her own many times to take on projects that we have been wanting to do but just never had the time to accomplish. Clementine is also an accomplished sewer and was able to help us with other on going projects we have. We cooked together a lot and we were also spoiled and enjoyed wonderful new flavours that Clementine would cook for us. Clementine is a wonderful dynamic woman and we hope to meet her again!!

Safia, the warrior princess. She's an amazing young woman with her head firmly on her shoulders. Brave, physically and mentally strong, courageous, nice, fun and funny, we spent so many great moments with Safia when she was with us. She was happy with whatever tasks we threw at her - even if that meant getting covered by mud when clearing out a cellar. She was great with us, loved to play with our daughters and got along great with the other volunteers. She has a very british, dry and subtle sense of humour, which had us rolling on the ground multiple times. We'd love to host her again someday, but she'll be a friend when she comes back ☺️ To any other hosts, if she applies, DO host her, she's amazing!

I struck gold with this Workaway. It will be difficult to top. You will be living in a beautiful, rustic hacienda. The land is idyllic, like something from a movie. The work is manageable; you will be doing maintenance, gardening, helping with events at the hacienda, and so forth. Much of it is self-directed - you will need to be proactive and show initiative. Volunteers with maintenance or carpentry experience will be perfect. The hacienda's handsome and hardworking manager, Yoshi, is a wonderful guy, very friendly and funny and kind. I now count him as a friend. In the morning, there is coffee and pastry, and then, for lunch, the employees gather in the kitchen to enjoy a delicious Mexican meal. In only two weeks, I grew quite close to the staff. While you do not need to speak Spanish, your experience will be enormously enhanced if you can. Neither the hacienda's staff nor those in the surrounding towns speak English. From my perspective, this made for an incredibly immersive environment to practice Spanish and escape from Roma Norte bubble to see the real México. The accommodation is comfortable. There are hot showers and warm blankets for the cold mornings and evenings. I found myself living in either a private room - which felt like luxury - or in a dormitory among the other volunteers. Besides work, your stay will be quiet. This suited me as I was preparing for an exam, but if you're more adventurous and sociable, there are some nice towns and attractions in the vicinity. Highly recommended and I will be back.

Mon séjour chez Céline et Alex a été très agréable. A la fois en raison du confort et de l’esthétique des installations ainsi que de la grande autonomie dont j’ai pu bénéficier pour réaliser les différents chantiers qui m’ont été confiés. Plusieurs balades réalisées en commun m’ont permis de découvrir cette partie de la Guadeloupe. Mentions spéciales pour le nettoyage de plage en compagnie de 158 personnes à St François et le banquet savoureux et sonore du « midi-minuit ». Bravo pour ton implication dans la préservation de l’île 🎖️. A bientôt, puisque je reviens en décembre.

We still miss you every single day. You truly became part of our family, and having you here was one of the greatest gifts we received this year. Your kindness, patience, joy, and the way you connected with every student made a lasting impact on our school and our home. You embraced our routines, our culture, our food and you brought so much peace, love, and laughter into our days. Valen still talks about you, Haroldo still remembers your favorite meals. The community loved you, and we felt incredibly blessed to host you. Any workaway out there would be lucky — truly lucky — to have someone as dedicated, responsible, and genuine as you. We will recommend you with all our heart. Muito obrigada for everything, for every moment shared, for every memory created. You left a beautiful mark on Brazil and on all of us.

I stayed for around a week. For that duration I had a bed in the shared apartement. My daily tasks were that I had to let people in and show them around, making the beds, as well as washing and drying the bedding. Besides that, I had lots of freetime, where I could explore the city or do whatever I want. If I had an appointment, I could also talk to Iðunn and take that time off. It was also nice to get to know other cultures and people. As the place is right besides Sentralstasjon there are lots of things to explore and do.

This was my first volunteering experience and I couldn’t have found a better family for it. I felt like part of the family throughout my whole trip. The tasks were not difficult, they were very flexible with my working hours. The hospitality was over the top. They prepared so many Mexican dishes for me to try and of course all of them were delicious :) I cannot recommend them enough. Now I can proudly say I have a family in Mexico! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this experience unforgettable. 💕 You are always welcome in Slovenia: mi casa es su casa!

We had the great privilege to have Guilhem & Joséphine and their daughter stay with us and help with projects around our home (cutting & staking a big tree, gardening, fixing our ride-on mower, plumbing, small playhouse building and more). They are very friendly and delightful to have dinner with or play games, and easy to talk with. We wish we had more time to have more dinners and games together. And it was nice to watch our daughters play together. We would be happy to host them again anytime. They were respectful of our home and very helpful around the house. We wish you all the best and hope to see you again sometime :)

We spent a month working with Elke and the community living on her property. Every day was spent doing a variety of tasks, breaking for coffee mid morning and lunch in the afternoon. We prepared Elke's garden for winter with her and her parents, as well as learning new carpentry and DIY skills from her generous community members. Outside of working hours was spent preparing food on some nights, enjoying a film together on others, or simply relaxing after the days work. It was lovely to get to meet so many of the people close to Elke, we had a lovely time. Thanks guys!

Appreciate August is not the ideal time as school holidays limit some of the opportunities in the schools . I had three beautiful weeks at the rescue shelter! The work is good and the people are amazing! During my time there was always another volunteer, sometimes even two. On the free days one can go to Valpo, viña, quintay, santiago.... to enjoy the Time. Muchas Gracias por todo Dani! PS: bring a book for the free time during the week

An incredible experience! I stayed for a month and loved every minute of it. The hostel has a wonderful vibe, the work is fair, and the host is simply amazing. It felt less like work and more like hanging out with friends while keeping the place running. Definitely one of my best Workaway experiences. Thanks, bro!

Fue un placer conocer a Elio y Anicette siempre dispuestos a ayudar. Elio es un excelente cocinero y nos deleitó con sus deliciosos panes. Con Anicette tuvimos lindas charlas, es una profesional de la jardinería y me ayudó a transplantar muchos plantines.

Adrien était un excellent bénévole avec qui nous avons passé de super moment. Il a su bien travailler et a été très serviable.

I had the pleasure of spending almost a month with Beatrice and Agnes. During the first two and a half weeks, I worked, then took my accumulated days off to explore the island with a rental car. Beatrice and Agnes were wonderfully flexible and supportive when planning this, which I really appreciated. 
From the very beginning, communication with Beatrice and Agnes was always open, clear, and reliable (before and during my stay). Everything was well organized, and I always knew what to expect. Their honesty and straightforward way of communicating made the whole experience very easy and pleasant. 
Most of my work was in the garden (mainly weeding and general maintenance) along with a few house tasks like dusting and cleaning the terrace with the pressure washer (which I actually enjoyed a lot!). The work was clearly explained, well-organized, and easy to manage independently, while support was always available when needed. 
I stayed in a beautiful little cottage overlooking the wild, stormy Atlantic in November – a truly peaceful place perfect for anyone who enjoys nature and spending time on your own. 
Beatrice and Agnes are warm, open-hearted, and generous hosts. I felt welcome from the very beginning. For example they shared their freshly baked bread with me, and I was invited to several lovely dinners sometimes together with their lovely und joyfull friends. I also enjoyed spending time with the tenant’s dog and helping the little puppy Zoë settle in. They often took me along to town for grocery shopping, which I really appreciated. 
I’ll truly miss the peaceful island life, the ocean breeze, and above all, the wonderful hosts.

We had the opportunity to host Sara for a bit less than a month, at a moment when our project was going through a particularly demanding period. After two last-minute cancellations and another volunteer failing to fulfil their part of the work, we suddenly found ourselves short of hands right before our big retreat. Since the agreed arrival, Sara stepped in and has been our main help, relieving some of the pressure with grace and an easy-going attitude. From the first days, she integrated herself naturally into the rhythm of the house, the family setting, and the flow of volunteers and visitors. Her respect for our lifestyle and spaces, good work ethic, and grounded work habits helped us feel confident relying on her. She was sensitive to the challenges around her, handled everything with calmness, and when needed, presented tact and emotional intelligence. Despite the pressure of the moment, Sara remained light-hearted, low-maintenance, and kind. She consistently found ways to uplift the atmosphere, support others, and bring small sparks of joy into the day. Whether through her book recommendations and tasty red lentil soup, her cultural insights, thoughtful conversations, or even her genius plank challenge, she contributed beautifully to the social life of the house. Together, we shared many moments of connection, laughter, and smooth collaboration. We wholeheartedly recommend Sara to any future host. She is responsible, trustworthy, kind-hearted, and ready to take action wherever needed. Hosting her was a pleasure, and we would gladly welcome her back anytime.

Staying with Simeon was an absolutely wonderful experience. The accommodation is comfortable, peaceful, and perfectly located— in the town of Los Realejos, yet surrounded by a beautiful, rural garden that makes you feel completely immersed in nature. Puerto de la Cruz is also just a short ride away, which makes exploring the area incredibly easy. One of the highlights was definitely the food. The host cooks delicious and makes sure you’re well fed, and you even get to enjoy plenty of fresh tropical fruit straight from the garden. They also provided me with a bicycle, which was perfect for getting around and discovering the surroundings at my own pace. And snorkeling expirience is ocean is also something that Im thankfull of. In exchange, the work is very fair—just a few hours in the gorgeous garden, which honestly felt more like a relaxing activity than a task. The overall atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and authentic. I’m truly grateful for the time I spent here, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable experience.
