I had a very good time with Anthony and Martina during the week. I had a room with plenty of space. Anthony is very cool with the work ; he prepared smoothies for me while I was working and took care of the hours. I was able to practice my Spanish (and also my English!) with Anthony and Martina. I really enjoyed our conversations. They always helped me and corrected my mistakes. We had fun evenings playing games. :) I also met Anthony’s brother, and we went to a small concert near the house with him — it was a great time. I spent my last day with them, and we went to the cinema and then to a pizzeria because it was Martina’s birthday ! Great memories, I really recommend them :) Anthony has a great sense of humor, and Martina is always kind and smiling. Thank you for this good time in Nicaragua ! :)

Me quedé una semana como voluntaria en aquí y fue una experiencia muy buena. Ivan y Adrian fueron muy amables y acogedores. Yo era la única voluntaria, así que el ambiente era muy tranqui. El trabajo podía ser bastante intenso, sobre todo bajo el sol abrasador, pero nadar en el río (tienes que ir al Charco Las Malvinas, está muy cerca y es divina) fue perfecto para refrescarme. La comida también estaba riquísima! También es importante mencionar que hay que recoger la caca de Paloma, la yegua, todas las mañanas. Aparte de eso, fue muy chévere. Muchas gracias!!

Often I am a bit reluctant at having volunteers who are grown up in a big city, as it is too many things to learn. But Otto is an exception and has embraced the lessons nature can teach in a wholehearted and passionate way, always eager to stay with the trouble and go deeper :) I was impressed at Otto's presence and persistence with the tasks at hand. August is all about plants; foraging berries and mushrooms from the wild and harvesting from the garden, weeding and weeding and weeding! Otto stayed with the trouble and embraced the weeds, having them for breakfast and in her tea! Otto was also really good at making the most of the place in other ways, taking her rucksack with her hammock and a book to explore new places with new views. Inspiring! I can warmly recommend Otto to future hosts.

Daniele, es increible, hizo una conexion genuina con los niños, es empático, carismático, y sobre todo con una energía peculiar para poder conectar con los otros voluntarios y los niños, si tienen la oportunidad de conocerlo no lo duden, es 100% genial.

Kaone is a very friendly and open young woman. We had a good connection from the first moment on. She always helped where she could. She made beautiful pictures for me and I was really sad, when she had to leave earlier than she had planned. I hope she can come back soon and we can finish the social media projects we started. I wish her all the best for her future and that her dreams come true.

We had a lovely stay with Jennie and Stephen. From our first day we felt very welcome . They worked in the garden with us and it felt more like helping out then being assigned chores or work to earn your stay. They were both very willing to help us get as much out of our stay by giving us some tips about local things to do and experience, including bringing us to the youth group they help at. Besides that, it was just lovely to stay here and spend time with them. We enjoyed being in and around the house working, playing table tennis, the card games and of course the food! We can absolutely recommend this stay!

I had a good time with Eliza, Marc and the 3 kids near the beautiful creek and coast of Coffs Harbour. Nearly 3 weeks I lived in nice big house with garden, sometimes with cute dogs, helping with housework and garden, cooking, playing and crafting with the curious and ‘wild’ kids. And there was also enough time to do my own thing. It was nice to meet people and seeing popular places around and improving my English. I wish you all the best for Christmas and may your plans for the next year succeed.

I had a wonderful experience with the Geirzt family. The atmosphere was warm, genuine, and welcoming. We worked on their truffle farm, helped in the gardens and with the horses, and took part in their everyday family life. The caravan accommodation was cozy and comfortable. We cooked together, shared great stories, and spent lovely evenings watching Australian movies with a glass of wine. On our days off, we enjoyed exploring the beautiful area — amazing forests and rivers. The hosts also introduced us to delicious Australian dishes, and I even got to ride their free-spirited horse, which made the stay even more special. Highly recommended.

We spend a week at Katies and James place. Katie made us feel welcome and cooked delicious food every night. We started most mornings with a few hours of work, mostly cleaning. They encouraged us to explore the area and gave us some advice on where to go. We are thankful for our lovely stay and would totally recommend to be a Workawayer here :) We wish you guys all the best! Jacob and Daan

We stayed for 9 days in El Rincon where we helped to take care of Guava fruit plantation. During that 9 days we learned how Guava plant has to be treated and propagated, spent time with people working there permanently , in particular with charming family of Melvin, participated in preparation of solar panels installation and visited the places that were nearby Rio Hato. There were plenty of beaches nearby and also we learned how to surf at El Palmar, 35 km from the plantation, can be reached with local buses that are a bit catchy to stop, especially on Sundays, but in general it would be an afterwork day trip. Staying at Fernando’s place is probably the best way to experience local life and be in Panamanian rural environment, it was enjoyable time, researching the sounds of the nature in the middle of the field, staring at multiple giant trees with bird nests. So, thank you for this experience.

Thank you so much Ashley and Michael for this lovely week ! I'm glad I could be of help for such a cute, kind and welcoming family. It was a pleasure to explore the surroundings while walking Dali and to learn so many useful tips about babys ;) The late afternoon at the beach and the festival were really nice to !

Le séjour de Lila et Emma s'est très bien passé. Appliquées dans leur travail et curieuses de beaucoup de choses de la vie, on a eu de bonnes discussions et c'était un plaisir de leur faire faire des visites. Toujours le sourire et ayant beaucoup d'humour...surtout une ;)) Ce sont 2 filles sérieuses et agréables à vivre que je recommande fortement à leur futurs hôtes.

Martine was friendly, open & relaxed and a pleasure to host & get to know. She has many wonderful travel stories & I enjoyed hearing about her adventures over dinner! Martine was responsible and helpful with all tasks she was asked to do. She was organised, efficient, returned tools, tidied after herself and always preformed jobs to a higher standard than I’d hoped. I would highly recommend Martine & I’d welcome her back … if she wasn’t off having more adventures :) Thank you Martine!

I had such a great time at Evelyn & Jon's place ! Thank you so much for being so kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. I enjoyed working in the shade house (repoting lots of native trees) and doing other gardening activities. During my free time, I explored the bush on the property with Meggie (such a lovely dog <3) and other WorkAwayers, really nice. The waterfalls, the glowworms and the little chicks were the highlights of my stay. I couldn't have dreamt of a better place to start my journey in New Zealand !

This has got to be one of my favourite volunteer jobs I've ever had! They were so organized with schedules so you always knew when you were working, making lunch and doing your laundry. All the volunteers and staff are so kind and easy going! If I had more time I would've loved to have stayed and joined them for their internship they offer, if you have the availability and you love bugs definitely join them :). Thank you David and Bryna for having me join your project it was a amazing time!

I had an amazing week and a half with Petra and Russell! I got to paint all week putting mini murals on interior doors which was fun. They were both a wealth of knowledge. Petra made wonderful meals that were suited to my fussy gut which I am very grateful for. Russell gave me a thorough tour of the area with historic stories and invited me to join him and a neighbour to watch a T20 cricket match which was enjoyable. They had great stories to share and lots of information on their lavish garden. They were easy to be around and made me feel at home which made for a great first workaway experience.

Having stayed with Yuji for a little under two weeks at his lovely home in Tamba-Sasayama, I can wholeheartedly recommend this Workaway to any prospective volunteers. During my stay I was mainly tasked with keeping an eye on his eldest son, Mino, who I had a great time playing soccer or riding bicycles with. In addition to that I was tasked with small landscaping or housekeeping projects, and even spent a few days harvesting rice! The workload was fair, fun, and although Yuji was gone most of the time working at the brewery, he made sure there was food to eat and that I was taken care of. Despite his long day at work, Yuji always cooked a delicious meal for dinner upon arriving home, and even took me to an onsen one evening! Outside of work, Tamba-Sasayama is a beautiful place to bicycle, walk, or go for runs, and I was sure to take advantage of this opportunity. Thanks so much to Yuji and Mino for being such gracious hosts, and know that you have a place to stay in Seattle. Arigato gozaimasu!

Gil participated in our project as a photographer; he was very attentive and committed. We are very grateful for the time we shared and for the excellent work he did. We hope to see him here again soon!
