I stayed with Tanya and Konstantin for a week and it was honestly one of my best Workaway experiences so far! They made me feel like part of their family and we had many interesting conversations. The hostel is located in beautiful nature and only a five minute walk away from the lake. Since I came before the start of the season, the work consisted of cleaning the hostel and kitchen and preparing the property for the guests. The work was very managable and didn't take too long which allowed me to explore the area and play with the lovely dogs. Tanya cooked amazing food and taught me some basic Russian words which was fun and Konstantin and I went hiking together once which was another highlight for me. I would absolutely love to come back during the main season someday and would really recommend this Workaway for anyone who enjoyes spending time in nature and good company. Thank you so much Tanya and Konstantin and all the best for the upcoming season!

Sabina stayed with us for about two weeks, and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog and house sitter. She is a smart, communicative, and open-minded person who is both easy and enjoyable to be around. We spent time together on dog walks and had many long, meaningful conversations, which we truly appreciated. Sabina is also very organized and tidy, making it easy to share our space with her. We felt completely comfortable having her in our home. We wish her the very best on her journey and with all her plans, and we hope we get to meet again!

Van stayed with our family for two weeks, and honestly, it felt much too short. From the very first day, she adapted beautifully to our home, our routine, and our family energy. She was incredibly organized, respectful, and disciplined. Everything she did, she did with care and responsibility, which made hosting her very easy and comfortable for us. What made this experience extra special was how naturally she connected with every member of our family. She had the most wonderful bond with our daughter, Umay. They spent so much lovely time together playing, laughing, chatting, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Umay truly adored her, and it meant a lot to us to see how patient, kind, and genuinely warm she was with her. One of the highlights of her stay was the amazing Vietnamese food she cooked for us. She is really talented and she is super chef😊 She introduced us to flavors and dishes we had never experienced before, and every meal she prepared was absolutely delicious. We loved how she shared her culture with so much joy and generosity. Those dinners became some of our favorite memories from these two weeks. We also spent beautiful time together outside the house. We went on nature walks, explored places together, and shared many fun little moments during our trips. In the evenings, one of our favorite routines became watching Love is Blind together on Netflix😅 It may sound simple, but those cozy nights, laughing and talking together, became such warm memories for all of us. Van is thoughtful, easy to live with, and very observant about what needs to be done. She was always happy to help and brought such a lovely balance to our home. Her positive attitude and respectful way of living made everything feel smooth and natural. Even though she stayed only two weeks, she left behind so many beautiful memories. We still talk about the meals she made, the games she played with Umay, and the lovely moments we all shared together. Her stay truly left a sweet taste in our hearts. We wholeheartedly recommend Van to any host. She is trustworthy, kind, hardworking, respectful, and wonderful with family life. Hosting her was a real pleasure, and we sincerely hope our paths cross again one day🌸

If you love energetic, enthusiastic, charismatic, and wonderfully chaotic hosts, you absolutely have to do a Workaway with Saad! I had the pleasure of spending a week in his studio, painting — coloring in the eyes of his Gyotaku fish prints. Saad also taught me how to make my own prints from an octopus and a John Dory (St. Pierre), which was an incredible experience. He is very generous and laid-back. During the day he worked as an acupuncturist, which meant I had the studio all to myself — plenty of time to work, cycle around, and take walks along the beach. The lovely Fadwa takes care of the household and cooks the most delicious meals. The house itself is wonderful, with a large garden and just a short walk from the beach. I had a beautiful room with my own private bathroom. We ate deliciously, laughed a lot, and I learned so much about Gyotaku — something Saad is deeply passionate about, and which I now love just as much! There were always friends coming and going, sawing or sanding away or helping him with his boat. It made for such a lively, warm atmosphere. I had the most amazing time, Saad! Sending you so much love! 🌊🐟

We had Steph and Hamish in February and they were great workaways. They were hardworking and very thorough. Good company and easy-going and flexible. They also left the cabin spotlessly clean, which I really do appreciate.

My stay with Kim and Peter was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. The rooms allocated to volunteers are very large, and the bed is big and comfortable. The bathroom, which is also dedicated to volunteers, is very functional and comfortable. The rest of the house is just as comfortable and clean; it was a real pleasure to stay there. I truly felt like I was being welcomed into a guesthouse. The work involves taking care of the animals and various tasks such as gardening, cleaning, and DIY projects. Kim and Peter make a point of ensuring that the work remains enjoyable and are very attentive to the well-being of the volunteers. The animals reflect the atmosphere of the ranch: gentle, well-cared-for, and genuinely happy. Some animals have been rescued from terrible situations and yet seem to have regained their trust in humans. Kim, Peter, and Chris (Kim's mother) are incredibly kind and welcoming people. I had a wonderful time with them and truly felt like part of the family. I will never forget this volunteer experience and this superb place, thank you again and I truly wish you all the best. ❤️

Had an amazing week in Cromwell staying with Nicky, I directly felt at home and got along well with her. She had tons of different jobs to choose from, helps along when she can and is always positive. Don't let me even get started on the food, she is an amazing cook and served us delicious dinners every night. I was there together with a couple different workawayers, which made it even better for me. Would definitely recommend it.

Having Cate (and Nicola) staying was pure pleasure! Respectful, polite and always in good spirits. I truly enjoyed having them here. Ecaterina makes lovely food, just loved all she cooked. Her personality is very delightful and I really liked her company, She were a great help with staple wood for me outside. I´m just sorry it was late autumn and not spring as I´m totally sure I would have had a really nice garden by now. She also organised my kitchen without making my things disappear. And the games nights, yes it was soo nice and fun. I recommend Ecaterina highly to all future hosts. And she´s always welcome here again!

Aloha!🌺 Words cannot discribe how amazing my stay was! It was a pleasure to be with a family which is so nice and funny. I really felt like a family member from the first day.😊I really enjoyed the family game nights with all of them. It was really good to see how funny it can be.😃 The food was always delicious! I love trying new things and the fried ulu was my favorite, but also Dottie's banana bread - it was the most soft one I have ever had!🍌 Usually, I don't go often to church, but I was very glad that Dottie and Tim took me to their worship on Sundays. All people there were so warm- hearted and it is the sweetest church I have ever been, with the best singers - even the prayer! The songs go deep into the heart and I wish there would be a church like that in my home town. The work in the garden was very nice.🌴 I was there in February, it was not too hot. On rainy days I also helped inside the house. I enjoyed it the best when I was working with Dottie or Tim. They are very patient to explain everything. It can even be fun to dig after lava rocks. It feels like you dig after a treasure.😁 To feed the chicken was a good start in the day.🐓 They were always hungry and they have the most beautiful colours! A highlight also were the new born baby chicken search operations with Katie.🐣We had some of these operations, so we had a LOT of baby chickens! They are so sweet!!😍 It was a honor to take care of Juniper - the most spoiled one. She is growing so fast!🥹 Dottie and Tim were also so kind to borrow me a ukulele. I enjoyed playing it on rainy days. I wanted to play for them both, but unfortunately I didn't do it. Now I hope I can play something for them on the guitar, if they come and visit me in Austria. That would be gorgeus!😃 I really wished I could have stayed longer. One month was way to short and I still miss them. I saw so many beautiful spots in this paradise thanks to them and I will never forget this experience. It was the break of a lifetime - the one my soul needed.🦋 Mahalo!🌈

Yarin was a great workawayer, he worked really hard and brought a positive attitude to the house. His sense of humour was great and made a perfect addition to the household. His work was of a high standard and he was flexible with tasks. I would definitely recommend Yarin and would welcome him back again! Thanks Yarin - enjoy your travels :)

Charming young couple, who revived my belief in workaways. Nothing was too much trouble, they learnt a lot of new skills with good listening. They joined in with being part of the household, ie. washing dishes after we had cooked the evening meal. They were always happy and eager to learn both English and the way of life in the countryside in Spain. And it was very good practice for our Spanish too. We would not hesitate to recommend them, it was delightful to have them here for their workaway time with us! We wish them all the very best in their future workaway assignments and onward travels.

We spent 3 weeks at the farm and it was amazing ! Gabi and Helen are super nice and interesting people, they always made sure we had everything we needed (puzzles included). We definitely never went hungry, with delicious and abundant food ! It felt like being at home with a big family ! The landscape is breathtaking, there are many walks to do in the area. The work was really interesting and diverse, and you can learn a lot with Gabi - but also with Helen who will be happy to teach you how to make jewelry and delicious jams ! Let's not forget the fufillis, i.e the adorable cats, such good kittens 😻 Thank you for everything and see you soon, because we will definitely come back !

I had a great time with Cathrine and Tim, they are excellent hosts! The seperate guest house is very new and comfortable to live in. The shared meals for dinner (and sometimes lunch) were tasty and i enjoyed their company. I learned a lot about the sheep and shetland sheepdogs, who also welcomed me with a lot of love.

Janet stayed with us for two weeks and was a joyful presence on the farm. She worked very hard and showed great dedication, regardless of her age. She is a fast learner and picked up new skills quickly, almost like a professional. She mainly helped with cacao pod work, separating beans efficiently, and also supported other tasks like chopping wood with fellow volunteers. She even helped carry water from the well for our new construction, which required both effort and consistency. Janet loves animals and took part in feeding the dogs every day. Our puppies and even our cat Bella enjoyed spending time with her, often joining during her yoga sessions. She is also very social — joining movie nights, organizing a fun karaoke evening, and bringing great energy to the group. She sings beautifully and shared that she has written books as well. We would happily recommend Janet to any host looking for a reliable, hardworking, and fun-loving volunteer.

I spent two weeks on the farm and couldn’t have asked for a better first Workaway experience. The work was varied and interesting, and I learnt a lot while still having plenty of time to relax, walk the dogs 🐕, and explore the beautiful surroundings — especially the waterfall 💧 I really appreciated that vegan meals were available, and I have to say that JayaSri’s cooking is every bit as amazing as everyone describes 🍛✨. Sharing meals together was one of my favourite parts of the day. What made the experience truly special, though, were the people. Lila, JayaSri and Dama are incredibly kind, patient and welcoming, and the other volunteers created a friendly, easy-going atmosphere 🤍🎤. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Heather stayed with us for two weeks and was a great help around the farm. She is very strong and fit, and capable of handling physical work for long hours without any issues. During her stay, we had a lot of cacao pod breaking along with other farm tasks like cleaning the manure tank and chopping wood, and she handled everything with great energy and dedication. She never said no to any task. At the same time, Heather is very outgoing and social. She enjoyed spending time with other volunteers, going out for ice cream or beach trips, and joining our movie nights. Her cheerful and charismatic personality brought great energy to the group and kept the atmosphere lively. We really appreciated having her with us and would highly recommend Heather to any host looking for a strong, reliable, and positive volunteer. We would be happy to host her again if she visits India in the future.
