… read more beautiful to witness, I am very thankful for having been welcomed so generously. The village is quite secluded, so as I don't have a car, it could be quite hard to take some complete time off sometimes.
All in all it was a wonderful first experience with workaway and I am so thankful for all the sweet moments and laughs and the way Sandra welcomed me into her family!

ir a conocer un poco de los demás sitios del alrededor con la familia y bañarte en los ríos acompañado de Arian, un muchacho agradable y maestro del ajedrez.
Platicar de música por horas con Yono y escuchar sus historias de Inglaterra.

… read more charlar con la gente local, especialmente Annie y Berta. Tenía la oportunidad de jugar dominó con la gente local. Fue la primera vez que aprendí a jugar y me encantó! Fue una experiencia muy cultural. Los niños eran majos. Tenía la oportunidad de cuidar a Tael, el más joven, y explorar el pueblo pequeño con él y su bici. ¡Es un niño maravilloso! Todo el mundo tenía mucha paciencia mientras practicaba mi español, y por eso estoy súper agradecida!! Sandra, Jono y Annie me cuidaron súper bien y me hicieron sentir como parte de la familia. Me encantó acompañar a Sandra y Taiel durante la semana a otros pueblos, ha sido muy bonito compartir juegos, canciones y paseos con Taiel; otros días conocer a Ani y a Berta, y las comidas riquísimas con los chicos y familia, fueron muy agradables y me llevo un recuerdo inolvidable de vosotros y mi estancia allí. No sabía qué esperar con mi primera experiencia de workaways, pero Sandra y su familia son muy fáciles de ir y me dieron una cálida bienvenida!

… read more poco, pero Taiel y yo nos hicimos amigos muy rápido y me encanté el tiempo con el (y las burbujas, el Oso y el Dinosaurio). Además Jono, Isi y Arián se han esforzado por mejorar mis conocimientos de español y mostrarme nuevos caminos y lugares en la naturaleza alrededor (y me desafiaron en todos los juegos).
Porque eran las últimas semanas del colegio, Sandra tenía mucho a hacer y organizar. Sin embargo ella siempre me cuidó y no me perdí nada!
Por los fines de semanas pude conocer la atmósfera en el Bar de Tozu y conocer la gente ahi, que eran súper maja. Fue fenomenal con Ani y Berta y el ambiente en el pueblo me gusté mucho! What an amazing time, one of my greatest Workaway experiences in beautiful El Tozu! I stayed for two weeks and mostly helped out in the cozy little restaurant. It was so much fun working together with Any, Sandra and Berta, either preparing the delicious food, serving at the bar, setting up the tables or cleaning the dishes. All of them are
… read more amazing chefs and treated me with all kind of goods! It was also nice to share some memories from my journey to Chile with Any and learn some Asturias dialect from the men of the village :-)
Besides the work, I had a great time with all their family members and friends, we did nice hikes, discovered amazing caves and I could always borrow the electric mountain-bike (highly recommended!).
Thank you so much for your hospitality, all the best to you and I hope I can return someday with my family, so they can experience this magical place which already feels like a second home to me!

Wow, I can't say enough about staying with Sandra and her family! This was my first workaway experience and it will be hard to top. To start, Sandra communicated with me frequently and even arranged for me to be picked up from the airport. She welcomed me into her home and provided food and accommodation. They have a large garden so I picked
… read more fruits and veg and made some meals for them as well.
Then the kids! I had such a fun time with them! Isi, Arí, and Taiel made my trip exciting and I got to experience life in the mountains through the eyes of kids. We went on hikes, found snails and lizards, looked at the cows and horses and sheep, and even picked mushrooms that Sandra cooked into a sauce with spaghetti.
Tozu is a beautiful pueblo and the residents were very kind to me when I tried to communicate in my broken Spanish. Sandra was great about giving me full Spanish immersion and helping me to learn the language fast. You will definitely need to speak Spanish to really understand and enjoy this experience, but Sandra, Jono, and the kids will help you if you need it :)
Finally, the nature and views are INCREDIBLE. I saw the Asturias region in the rain, fog, sun, and thunderstorms and it was absolutely stunning. You'll be hard pressed to find another place like this.

Lea was an amazing help with little Taiel. She has endless patience, would go with him for walks around Tozu for hours and he really got so close to her. She was very easy going and happy about the different tasks needed.

I am very happy that I stayed with Sandra and their family, all of them were really nice and friendly people and always making sure I was fine. Their home in the mountains and the views are just amazing and something very special, as well as the little restaurant in Tozu. A wonderful experience!they made me feel as one of the family.They are kind, loving, very funny,friendly.I did not feel bored in any moment. That´s not possible with them! I had a great one and a half weeks with Sandra, Jono and the kids. I slept mostly in the caravan a little away from the house, once or twice in the apartment at the bar, both quite clean and enjoyable!

Where to start ... well, there you go ... Asturias is a paradise! And yono and Sandra's house is perfect to be able to fully enjoy it, the environment is beautiful! And also tozu is a typical Asturian mountain town where we were able to meet some beautiful people!

Jono, Sandra, Izzy and Aryan a warm family. We've stayed over a week at their place taking care of the sheeps, moving firewood, jobs around the house and playing with the kids and dogs. … read more has a world class sense of humor. Our family felt very at home in their home perched in the verdant lush mountain forest with the peaks within reach. So much so that we went back and stayed with them again on our way out of Asturias! Definitely get in touch with them if you're looking for a serene mountain getaway and clear, honest, insightful people to be around and learn from. Their home is still very much under construction and while we were well cared for and comfortable, don't go there expecting central heating and a steamy bath at the end of the day! The food they can cook is amazing, no wonder why argentinians are known as best barbacue chefs... beyong believe. They did a great variaty of delicious dishes that were new to us.

Lucas and Rosario son una pareja super agradable en la que un siente que se puede confiar desde el primer momento.
Nos ayudaron mucho haciendonos la vida mas facil. Sabian lo que era necesario hacer, en muchas ocasiones sin tan siquiera tener que decirlo. Pintar, cocinar, limpieza, cuidado de los animales, arreglo de aparatos rotos, carpinteria...
Como compañia son muy respetuosos y uno siente que esta entre amigos.
Las barbacoas y su comida increibles!
Recomendables al 100%, ya estamos esperando que vuelvan en cuanto tengan la oportunidad.

We spend almost a month in Sandra and Jono´s home. This was our first work away experience and we could never have hoped for a better place to be!
Their house is beautiful, surrounded by mountains and forest, the farm is a little paradise and the family is very warmhearted and lovely.

… read more get bored, we have learned a little about farm, made jam, cooked a lot, read and played music in Jono’s “playroom”, if you like playing music he’s a great musician and have lots of “toys” you can play with.
If you like hiking or taking photos in your free time there are lots of paths to wander between the mountains with great views.
This is a loving family, very open and easy going people, you will love the kids, simple, smart and funny guys. We just left but we already miss them!
