The time we spent together with Connor was absolutely wonderful. We had a lot of fun together and a very pleasant, relaxing time. Connor was a great help with the gardening, woodwork and lots of other tasks. He was always in good mood and fully motivated..... We enjoyed lovely evenings together with good conversation and delicious food, during which we learnt more about his home country, Australia. Thank you, Connor, for your sunny disposition, your enthusiasm for gardening and nature, your dedication always and everywhere, for the many hours of table tennis training...... and chess....... and the many, many ‘Spechtele’.... We hope to see you again; you’re always welcome here!

I spent three weeks at Maggie and Jeremy’s place, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Since I had never worked on a dairy farm before, I was a bit unsure whether I would manage. But after speaking with Maggie on the phone, I felt reassured and decided to give it a try — and I’m so glad I did. The work is definitely physical, but it’s also fun, especially because of the nice and supportive team <3 Most of the time, you work in pairs (for example, two people milking while others feed the calves). Milking and feeding take place twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon. In between these tasks, you help with whatever needs to be done on the farm — cleaning pens, adding fresh bedding, scraping and liming the cubicles, assisting with calving cows… We had breakfast and lunch together in the house, nice little breaks during the day where everyone came together. I stayed in a mobile home directly on the farm, which I shared with another Workawayer (shoutout to Paddy :)). On your days off, you have the chance to explore the beautiful surroundings. Maggie and Jeremy really make you feel like part of the family — for example, we were invited to a family brunch and got to experience some Irish culture (St. Patrick’s Day or the local pub) Of course, it took me a few days to adjust to this kind of lifestyle and I definitely felt it in every muscle at the beginning. It also takes a little time to understand all the processes, but don’t worry there is always someone you can ask. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who isn’t afraid of physical work and the Irish accent :D

Constanze spent one week with us. We became very good friends. She is open, kind, attentive, and sociable. She cooks very well and enjoys doing it. Sometimes we cooked together like a real family :). Constanze helped me with cleaning in the camp. She always asked what else she could help with. Despite my poor English, she understood me well. I hope we will see each other again.

I had a really great experience with Cyril. He is very accommodating, genuinely kind, and always did his best to be present whenever needed. The work is quite versatile, and as long as the job gets done, there are no issues, which gives a lot of freedom and trust. Cyril really took me under his wing when I was going through a difficult time, and that meant a lot to me. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something meaningful and human. He is also very knowledgeable about permaculture. If you want to learn more about soil fertility and working with the soil, this is definitely the right place. And I have to mention Tess, his dog  she is absolutely adorable!

I spent more than two months up in the mountains of north Gran Canaria with this lovely family. What a green and dramatic landscape it is. With an amazing view from the finca. Even though there are a lot of eucalyptus plantations, I spotted a lot of endemic plants aswell, with help of an app. It was more interesting than a visit to the botanical garden. Together with Choco I walked a lot in the area and was exicted every time I saw a new endemic specie. And Choco, what an amazing dog he is. Even though I never had a dog before, it was so easy to take him out on walks. I must also mention Giovys pizzas, which I was fortunate enough to taste. Great pizzas with potatoes! Ale was generous with oranges, which I ate every day. I participated in two bosque comestible plantations together with Ale. With a lot of other nice people. This was my introduction to syntropical agroforestry. A very interesting way to plant and manage a food forest. I learned a lot about farming during my stay, which was also my intention. So it was a very fruitful experience 🙂

We had a wonderful volunteering experience with Teodora and her mother Constanza. They welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home from the very beginning. The food they prepared was absolutely delicious, and we truly enjoyed every meal. During our stay, we learned a lot about fieldwork and rural life, which was a very enriching and meaningful experience for us. They are very respectful, organized, and responsible hosts, always making sure everything runs smoothly. We would love to come back and volunteer with them again in the future. We highly recommend them 100%. It was a beautiful experience that we will always remember.

It was a very nice experience to have Rose at our place for 3 weeks. She is very friendly and matched very well with the 3 other participants. We worked in the vegetable garden and planted seedlings and did the necessary weeding, Rose helped with all works needed. Her special interest was making a mosaic around an outside bath tub together with 2 others. She liked that a lot. Of course she also took part in the jobs like bringing the sheep to the pasture and feeding and cleaning the hens in the morning. I can recommend Rose to all hosts, she is a very nice and willing volunteer and fits well in a team of Workawayers. Especially design and artistic works are in good hands with her.

I have hosted Claudia and Nelson for a week. Their friendly energy has brighten up the household and we had a very good time. They bravely worked on emptying a storage space and re-arranging the stuff back, applying mulch in the garden, painting and weaving bamboo in a fence and setting up a new system for glass preserve containers. I warmly recommend!

Leonardo stayed for just under two weeks and he was the first of the year, so there was a lot of clearing up to do after the winter. He was terrific and did everything , and more, that I asked of him, always willingly. Leonardo is very polite and respectful. I couldn’t have asked for more.

Originally, I planned to stay for one week, but somehow it turned into two and I’m so glad it did. It was easy to feel part of such a loving and warm family. They welcome you with open arms, and you can feel it from the moment you arrive. There’s never a dull moment with the family. During my stay, we were getting ready for Umay’s first day of hip-hop class and gymnastics, which was such a special experience to be part of. It made my time in Turkey even more meaningful, as I got a deeper understanding of family life and the lifestyle in Bursa. The work was easy, mopping, vacuuming, putting dishes away, and playing with Umay, but honestly, it never felt like work. I loved my stay with the family and would absolutely love to come back! Thank you for everything! ❤️

I had such a great time in Fredrikstad, and meeting Weronika, Markus, and Odin made it even better! They were super welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. We didn’t get a ton of time to chat before they left for their trip, but from the little we did, I honestly wish we’d had more time to get to know each other I really enjoyed it. Odin is seriously the cutest dog ever It’s only been two days since I left and I already miss him and our walks! Overall, one of my best Workaway experiences!!

I stayed three weeks with this wonderful family and it was my first Workaway in Spain. I will never forget this experience! Sergi, Neus and their children are all so heartwarming, fun and they welcomed me with open arms. The work was diverse and I enjoyed being outdoors, with a view of the mountains. Working together with Sergi and my fellow workawayer was truly a pleasure. I learned new skills and my confidence in these skills grew every day. Borredá is a really beautiful village, I loved walking through the little center and exploring the surroundings. There are also so many incredible hiking opportunities. I explored a lot of them but I am sure there are many more. Perhaps I will discover them during my next visit😉 Thank you so much for this Catalan adventure, I wish you all the best in the future with everything that you do! With love, Isa

From the first communication to the last, everything was very clear with Julian. He was here in a more off season and helped us with slowly starting to prepare for the spring, helping out with the sheep and chickens, getting the fruit trees ready and preparing for planting new plant. As well as helping with other small things around the farm. It was a pleasure having Julian stay and we would welcome him back any time.

I had an amazing experience staying at Kai's - I couldn't have asked for a better first Workaway. Kai was helpful and supported when planning my visit, replying instantly and recommending buses which removed the stress of travel. The guest house and garden were magical, and the food was amazing - Kai always made sure we were well fed and had plenty of treats too! I appreciated the clear structure of the days, with work and rest staying very separate, and on days off Kai and Lea were super helpful in suggesting places to visit depending on our interests, as well as a means to get there. During my stay I participated in a wide variety of activities, I appreciated not having just one repetitive task, so time really flew. There was also an emphasis on learning as well as being productive, so I felt I really got a lot out of the stay, not just simply food and board. During my stay I: Sewed and planted crops, weeded, prepared the earth for planting, cleaned out the sheep, made a mosaic, moved and stacked firewood, made a bonfire, and took care of the animals. On days off I used Kai's E-bike to explore the area, explored the town, walked to the next village and back, took the bus to Saint Raphael, went swimming in the river, and cooked dinners with my fellow Workawayers. Thank you Kai and Lea for such a positive experience! I would highly recommend this Workaway to anyone who enjoys beautiful places and the outdoors.

Margaux came to stay with us for a couple of months. She learnt to ride which was one of her goals while being with us. Margaux was an excellent worker and was very particular with her cleaning and her work. She was always very polite and was a pleasure to have around. We hope she comes to see us again sometime.
