Having just read Sarah and Denial’s feedback on us, our first reaction was “and they think they got a good deal”. Kath and I truly had great company and most excellent volunteers here helping us. Without doubt they have left us with projects completed and our house not only looks better, it actually feels better, looks
… read more more finished, and has been “lifted” in our enjoyment of it.
The work was undertaken with genuine enthusiasm, and whilst proper precautions were taken with the power tools, everything was done with a great sense of fun, of can do , and of enjoyment.
Having them around the house was also a pleasure. We may be twice their ages, but in terms of gelling together, there was no difference. We had an absolute barrel of laughs with them. Work aside though; we have to thank them for making such nice comments about the food. It’s a pleasure to cook for people who appreciate the efforts we put into preparing food by those little “mmmm’s” and “ooh yes” noises that Danial and Sarah seemed to make at every mealtime. As an extra plus, we in turn have enjoyed the authentic Aussie Parma’s they made for us.
Recommending these guys is the easiest thing to do. They are top class company; they work hard and get jobs done properly. Lucas also enjoyed their company, but I get the feeling he was relieved when they had left us. Poor little feller was absolutely exhausted at the end of every day thanks to being “exercised” by Danial and the deflated football.
Guys, have an amazing time for the rest of your stay in Europe. We too look forward to meeting up with you in Australia.

What a true pleasure it was to stay with Dave and Kath. We could not speak more highly of their hospitality. . . especially the cooking. :)
The work was fun, structured, and we always had the best tools and toys to do the job. We were lucky to get some great weather over the 10 days we stayed in early March, so a majority of the tasks were
… read more based outside in the sun which suited us just fine.
The accommodation was lovely and comfortable beyond expectations and the room included a private ensuite.
Work aside though.... to get to know David and Kath was the highlight. Every meal time was highlighted not just by the most delicious food imaginable. ..but great conversation around the table. We also loved the company of their adorable Collie dog Lucas and his favorite deflated football toy. :)
We believe we have made some mates for life and will try to repay the hospitality when they make their voyage to Australia!
We would highly recommend to anyone looking to experience the beautiful peaceful quiet and scenery that France has to offer, to head to Dave and Kath's.
Hot tip: make a cheeky request for Dave's super prawn curry, and Kath's Duck Shepherd Pie with Choccie Pudding.

We had never hosted anybody for a month, and were at first concerned about hosting someone for such a long time. But with Mike and Sanam, we need not have worried. They are a fun couple, they work so well together, both having a good sense of humour. Fitting into our routines was effortless for them, and not only did they help with the tasks that
… read more we asked them to do, they cleaned and tidied up whenever needed. They also cooked some spectacular food for us, but won’t mention it by name in case future hosts expect the same… LOL
It’s our intention to visit Australia sometime in the next few years. Sanams’ experience in the field of Travel enabled us to start to draw our plans up in a way that wouldn’t have been possible for us to do otherwise. We hope to meet up with them in Oz when we eventually make our much promised holiday of a lifetime.
A list of all the jobs we would have liked doing was prepare for them, and they worked their way steadily through the majority of these tasks. But they also did jobs other than the ones that were on there that they considered needing doing. We particularly want to thank them for their efforts on the last full working day with helping us move 10 cubic metres of logs into barn. Kath and I wish them all the best for rest of their time in France and for future. Thanks again guys.
We had a great time with David and Kath, We especially liked the food that was provided for us every night, top chefs!! The facilities were very comfortable with our own room and en-suite. The work wasn't too hard and varied from working in the barn to establishing a vegi patch and general maintaing of the property. We also worked inside when the

Well, we once again have had a wonderful Workaway experience, David and Kath made us feel as part of the Family. We were allowed to work at the Jobs we felt we could do to the best of our ability. David and Kath live in a lovely part of France and we are just waiting for the Apples to be ready so we can taste more of the home made apple
