  Welcome to the village of Balestrand.
  
  We are a family of four Tuba (me), Gard, and our children Edda (8 years old) and Brage (2).
  We are running a fruit farm and producing many tasty drinks and food.
  
  -we are producing many types of cider, juices, jams, and brandy;
  -we are owning Ciderhuset-a summer restaurant where we serve a mix of Turkish and Norwegian food,
  along with our ciders, ( and we also organize cider tours). We are very busy with tourism during the summer, that is why we not accepting volunteers during the summer.
  -we produce chocolate: this is quite new, we started last summer, and the expectations are really high for this season, which means that we have to produce a lot before the summer;
  -we are also trainers which means that we are hosting some European Union projects for Youths;
  -last but not least, we are transforming a garage into an art-house where we will arrange free time activities for locals. Now, we are close to the finish line with our project, and we mainly need to work on the outside part of the property. The construction will be finished this spring and we need creative people to help us with painting and decorating.
  
  For the juice production and the restaurant, we have professional employees and seasonal workers we would like you as workawayers to do nonprofitable work such as gardening, maintenance of fruit trees, picking weed, smaller building jobs for maintaining the buildings, and babysitting. You will have the opportunity to learn and experience cider and chocolate production if you are interested in but they are not the works we need help from you.

  March and April activities;
  There's a battle between winter and spring. You could have anything from snow, rain, strong wind and beautiful sun. During these mounts, we mostly work in the garden, pruning the trees is the main activity.
  
  However, this year is very special because we are transforming a garage into an art-house.
  This means that we need help cleaning the garden around the garage, painting the guest house, and decorating the building.
  Freetime activities you can do during these months;
  -Hiking; we have wonderful mountains with different levels of trails;
  -Ice swimming on the fjord (we do it every week)
  -Skiing: we can find the needed equipment but you need a car for reaching the ski center.
  
  
  
  Mai and June activities.
  These are probably the most beautiful months of the year.
  The days are getting longer and warmer. The fruit blooming creates such a magical atmosphere here, in Balestrand, you feel that this place came to life. We need a lot of help in these months because the pre-season period is quite taught.
  
  Freetime activities you can do; Balejazz, a yearly jazz festival in the village, 17th of Mai celebration, the national day of Norway, Bicycling (you can borrow from us), Hiking, Kayaking (you can borrow from us)
  
  
  
  July
  We are very busy with tourism and receiving many guests to the farm restaurant. That is why we have a little time to take of you on the farm during this month. But you are welcome during spring, autumn and winter.
  
  
  August-September- October activities:
  These are the most tasteful months of the year. The garden is full of fruits and we, with our seasonal workers, try to preserve as many tastes from the garden as we can. The whole family works in the garden and the main activity is to pick the fruit in any kind of weather. This is very meaningful work and important for the rest of the year. We expecting from you to do non-farm/business help such as gardening, maintenance of fruit trees, picking weed, smaller building jobs for maintaining the buildings, and babysitting.
  Freetime activities: Bicycling (you can borrow from us), Hiking, Kayaking (you can borrow from us), Swimming
  
  
  November-December-January
  These are the darkest times of the year. We have approximately 6 hours of daylight. We mainly enjoy the winter and do some preparations for Christmas in the village. Putting the Christmas light on the farm, making some chocolate, enjoying the silence after busy summer is the main things we do. We expecting from you to do nonprofitable work such as maintenance of the garden, smaller building jobs for maintaining the buildings, and babysitting.

  Acomodação

  You will stay in our guesthouse which is in the same garden as the Art-House. The house has 7 sleeping rooms and 4 bathrooms. The rooms have bunk beds. The internet connection is good and the kitchen is equipt everything you need. The view is amazing and you can borrow a bicycle if you do not want to walk.
  
  During the summer we will enjoy the food from the Ciderhouse restaurant and Holmen Cafe, however, we you have to eat your breakfast at home. Do not stress we will provide you delicious jams, juices, breads from the fram. During the winter you will have your breakfast and dinner at the guesthouse and we will provide the budget for that. Of course, we will also enjoy many dinners together and we will introduce Norwegian food culture to you.
