  UPDATE: For the spring/summer we're looking for workawayers who want to stay for at least a month, hopefully up to 3 months, and can help in all things farm and land
  
  This is a growing regenerative and creative project in the Montseny Natural Park, about an hour from Barcelona by car or bus (used to be train, but not so reliable these days!). The property sits at around 800m, so while Mediterranean, it has a fairly different climate than the coast. Colder winters and gentler summers, and a lot more green around. We are deep in a forest of oaks and pines, between the villages of El Brull and Aiguafreda.
  
  We have restored an old Catalan masía while building not only our permanent home but also a living ecosystem around it: regenerative agriculture, syntropic agroforestry and wood-fired ceramics are our pillars, which make every day about craft, taking care of the growing farm, shared meals, community life and slow but meaningful ways of building.
  This is not a retreat center or a polished eco-hotel, but rather an active development, still taking shape, where things are constantly being built, repaired, planted, fired, cooked, moved, and reimagined.
  
  Some days we work in the gardens or the food forest, planting, managing or harvesting. Some days we build irrigation lines, mulch beds, or organize communal spaces. Some days there are ceramic firings, workshops, exploring the surroundings and long conversations around the fire. The rhythm follows the season and what the land and the space needs from us.
  We currently share our space with dogs (4), chickens (11 for now), trees (thousands), and friends who stop by for a drink or a stayover. The property is large, full of surprises, and constantly evolving.
  
  On the farm side, we currently have an always evolving number of spaces that need our constant attention:
  - A vegetable patch with about 14 beds of 6–8 m each
  - A small greenhouse with 4 beds for seedlings
  - A syntropic agroforestry system (SAF) with 6 beds of 22m
  - A second SAF in progress with 8 beds
  - A young apple orchard of about 60 trees, just planted this Spring
  - Mushroom cultivation on the roadmap for 2026/27
  
  We're an Argentine couple who has lived in the US, UK and Spain, and recently settled here. Magali is a potter who runs workshops from her studio on the property, specializing in Japanese-style wood-firing. Mariano works remotely as a freelance consultant, and spends the rest of his time exploring regenerative farming, agroforestry, and building small tools and ideas for the land.
  
  We are interested in sharing our space with people who enjoy tinkering and learning through doing - wannabe wood and metal workers, engineers, farmers, craftspeople, anything and everything is fair background if you feel energized by pragmatically solving things with your head and your hands.
  
  We want peeps who feel inspired by collective projects, and who understand that beautiful places also require care, attention and physical work. If this resonates, then it could be your place!
  
  We are still evolving, and the people who come here become part of that process.
  
  What we offer
  - A room in the main farmhouse (private or shared depending on availability) with hot showers, electricity, bedding, towels and Wi-Fi
  - Shared meals cooked together, mostly with local and seasonal ingredients, and increasingly from our own garden
  - Time and space to learn hands-on about regenerative agriculture, syntropic agroforestry, composting, irrigation, animal care and homestead maintenance
  - Optional access to the pottery studio to experiment with clay and learn about wood-firing
  - A real cultural exchange in a small, informal, evolving project
  - A beautiful corner of the Montseny to explore on foot, by bike, or climbing
  
  What we ask
  - 5 hours a day, 5 days a week: we start around 8.30 every day. We ask volunteers to help us through the morning in the farm and all things land.
  - A minimum stay of one month, ideally 2 to 3
  - Some previous experience with agriculture, carpentry, or hands-on outdoor work
  - Willingness to pitch in with communal life: cooking, cleaning shared spaces, looking after the animals on rotation
  - Respect for the rhythm of the place, the people, and the animals
  
  A few honest notes
  - We're not vegan or vegetarian. We eat eggs, dairy, meat and fish, much of it local. We're happy to share what we cook and we can sometimes accommodate other diets, but if you follow a strict plant-based diet you'll need to cook for yourself.
  - We have 4 dogs and 11 chickens. Animal lovers will be at home, animal-averse folks probably won't.
  - The property is off-grid in feel. If you need constant city access or nightlife, this isn't the right fit.
  
  Some of the things people ask us:
  - We do ask you to bring some experience with you, as we can teach a bit, but also want to learn from others.
  - Hopefully this is not your first volunteer experience - we're new at this so want to adopt the best ideas you've seen in other places!
  - We keep an omnivore diet - we can accommodate vegetarians and vegans, but we do eat meat, eggs and dairy.
  - We share lunch together, and sometimes dinner too.
  - We have 5 very comfortable rooms for 2 people each, so sometimes those are to be shared.

  The project is still in its early days, which means Workawayers will be helping shape our place, community and story. We’re a small group for now (a couple originally from Argentina who have lived in US, UK and Spain, plus friends who come and go, staying for a few days at a time) and we love sharing meals, stories, and ideas around the table.
  
  We have travelled the world, and love meeting people along the way. We enjoy the cultural exchange that brings meeting folks from all over and different walks of life, who are eager to share their own knowledge, quirks, questions and crazy ideas.
  
  Cultural exchange is the heart of what we’re doing here, and we want the experience to feel like participating in a home and community and not a workplace. Depending on the season, we might forage mushrooms, explore local markets, cook communal meals, or welcome visiting ceramic artists to hang out, talk, and exchange perspectives.
  
  About us
  Magali's is a potter who works making ceramics for restaurants and running specialized workshops with artists from all over the world, mainly Japanese or Japanese-inspired. The pottery studio in the property is her professional workspace, but visitors are welcome to experiment creatively as part of the cultural exchange (purely optional and with no connection to the business side of her work).
  
  Mariano works remotely, freelancing in a number of consulting projects, and spends his time exploring regenerative farming and agroforestry, always tinkering with new ideas for the farm. He’s very passionate about cooking, languages, and building small tools and practical ideas for the land.
  
  If you're into climbing, the property has a few fun walls, we’re happy to show you some basics!

  Ajuda

  We're looking for practical, hands-on people who enjoy working outdoors and aren't afraid of getting dirty. This spring and summer, our main projects are:
  
  - Caring for the vegetable patch, fruit trees, and expanding agroforestry module
  - Building and maintaining raised beds, paths, and composting systems
  - Small carpentry and woodworking projects (shelving, fencing, garden structures)
  - General homestead maintenance: fixing, organising, improving outdoor spaces
  - Helping with our small greenhouse
  
  We especially value people with experience in farming, carpentry, basic metalwork or tool use, irrigation, or anything hands-on and practical. If you know your way around a saw, a shovel, or a soldering iron, you'll fit right in.
  
  This is pure cultural exchange, not labour. All tasks are personal homestead work in private, non-commercial areas of the property. We have professional crews for any structural renovation or construction, so this is about the everyday life of maintaining and improving a rural home together.
  
  Optional: if you're curious, you're welcome to spend time in our pottery studio exploring clay or learning about wood-firing techniques. This is completely optional and part of the cultural exchange, not work.

  Acomodação

  Accommodation is simple but comfortable. you’ll stay in one of the rooms (which may be shared depending on availability) in our main farmhouse. The spaces are basic but clean, with access to hot showers, electricity, and Wi-Fi. We provide bedding and towels, and there’s a shared kitchen you’re welcome to use. We usually cook quite a bit and there’s always food around to prepare and share.
  
  We eat pretty much everything and love cooking with local, seasonal ingredients , particularly as we start growing more in our vegetable garden! The vibe is communal and informal, and we are happy to share the food we make or let you cook for everyone. We can also easily arrange for you to keep your own supplies if needed.

  Located deep in a sprawling oak-and-pine forest, The property is a paradise for outdoor lovers: you can hike right from the house, go for a climb in the nearby crags, or bring your own bike to explore miles of mountain-bike trails.
  
  Getting Around & Time Off
  We’re a bit off-grid, about a 25‑minute drive to Centelles or Seva/Tona stations, and from there it's a one‑hour train ride to Barcelona. We’re happy to do occasional station runs, but generally guests are free to explore independently, so this is perfect for those who value the joy of self‑guided discovery. It’s about 45-50 minutes by bike to Seva and just over an hour to Centelles train station , and we have a couple of bikes you can borrow.
  
  Inclusive Community
  We welcome queer, poly, and LGBTQ+ folks with open arms: this is a space where diverse identities and relationships are celebrated and respected.
  
  Local Town Highlights
  • Seva offers a network of scenic hiking and cycling loops, including the popular Ruta dels Molins and summit routes to Puig de l’Agulla
  • Tona charms with its medieval quarter, the 9th‑century Sant Andreu del Castell church, local spas, and modernist villas
  • Centelles features a beautiful old town, the Renaissance Palau dels Comtes, Via Ferrata Baumes Corcades adventures, and a truffle fair (“Fira de la Tòfona”) in December
  • Aiguafreda & El Brull lie at the edges of Montseny Natural Park, home to orienteering circuits, GR‑route access, and rugged MTB trails down to El Brull. There's a couple GR-routes that run through the property.
  
  What We Value
  We live simply, collaboratively, and respectfully. We ask guests to help keep shared spaces tidy, respect quiet hours after 10 pm, and participate in communal chores (kitchen, gardening, etc.).

  We have decent Wi-Fi (starlink) in the main building, so digital nomads can get work done in the mornings or evenings. It’s mostly stable but it can have its moments. We’re flexible with schedules and happy to find something that works around remote work commitments.
