Hola, I'm Leif from Switzerland/Sweden, renting the hostel from Camilo, a 25 year old Colombian who's always been very passionate about traveling/backpacking - we both want to create an amazing place for travelers to come and enjoy. I'm the only permanent staff and I love hosting people - being a good host is my job, but I've found that with 2-3 volunteers at a time, we can run this hostel even more succesfully.
The hostel is placed in Jericó, one of the most beautiful towns in Antioquia/Colombia. Just a 5 minute walk from the main square, this is a beautiful location with a lot of exposure to locals, a river and many amazing walks. There are several good restaurants in town, all within walking distance; from pizzerias to local menú del días and great street food, so you'll always have options. There are river swimming spots just 30 minutes away walking, for anyone who wishes to visit. There's a variety of museums in town, ranging from history to music and art, which makes this town of the most cultured in Colombia.
It's possible to rent both bikes (for volunteers, it's free!) and motorbikes at the hostel, for those who want to expand their horizons :).
P.S: We ask for a minimum stay of 2 weeks, but longer is even better! I am also looking for someone who would want to take on more responsibility, like reception of guests and some other management tasks, or even to run the hostel for a few weeks!

As a Colombian, it's always a pleasure to teach travelers about our culture and language. It's easy to interact with the locals of Jericó, practice Spanish, learn how a Hostel is set up, and how it operates. You'll have a lot of nature nearby to have beautiful views everyday.

I am also looking for people who are interested in learning reception/management tasks who could run the hostel for a day or two at a time :)

Acomodação
A shared room (one bunk bed), fast wifi, and free laundry. Full access to the kitchen and free coffee from the family farm! Mountain bike usage for free for volunteers :)

The town has several museums, parks and beautiful streets, as well as some great hikes with waterfalls in the area. There are places to party on the weekend, nice bars that go from reggaeton to rock. You can hang/work at the house, which has green spaces and beautiful shared areas. Place is great for foodies, as there are a cariety of restaurants (strangely enough, hamburgers are a bit of a specialty here!)

We have just invested in a brand new super-fast wifi router that outputs 200 MBit/s, measured. Electrical outlets are available all around the hostel. Electrical blackouts are virtually non-existant.

I had a wonderful time volunteering here. Camilo is a brilliant host and really took care of me during my stay. I mainly cleaned/ got rooms ready for the guests. It was easy and chilled work, I really felt at home and ended up staying a lot longer than originally planned.

My experience at this hostel was really incredible, from the first day I felt very welcomed by Camilo and comfortable. The work is not too hard and you have a lot of nature to explore around the town. Jerico is a beautiful, charming village. I really recommend this workaway.

Mi voluntariado en Jericó fue una maravilla de experiencia! Con Camilo todo fue genial y con la otra voluntaria también. Te sientes en familia! Todos los días llega gente a la que conocer y siempre hay algo para hacer en Jericó. Las vistas de la ciudad son increíbles! Lo recomiendo al 100%
