Our hostel is located in the old town of Antalya, one of the most beautiful cities of Turkey. This is a very popular place among tourists and travellers, and all our colleagues are very friendly. The hostel is the perfect place to socialize for cultural interaction and a great way to meet new people! We work together in a family environment, and there are many activities can be done here, such as rafting scuba divingş paragliding and hiking around ancient cities. All we look for in our volunteers is good vibes and good vibes only!

With this stay, travelers will develop language and social relations and make new friends moreover, there will be opportunities to get to know Turkish culture closely.

The house where travelers will stay is very close to the hostel. They can spend their free time in our bar on the terrace. Also, our hostel is located in the old town, which is the center of Antalya, there is always something to do here. Also, there are many beaches around our hostel. We sometimes even go out for swimming nights all together after having drinks at the bar!

We will host travelers in our own house or in our hostel, we have our own kitchen in our hostel, we prepare breakfast and lunch there. Also, we regularly organize family meals that our customers can be included in, as well as travelers that can attend family meals for free. There is always food available for volunteers.

When I first arrived, I waited upstairs for around an hour and a half before the manager, … read more Fatih, came to speak to me. he also said this was a party hostel and they have had one for the past 6 days.. on here it states chill vibe and not a party hostel.

One of the biggest issues was the food. Under the Workaway agreement, volunteers worked 4 hours a day, 6 days a week, in exchange for accommodation and food. On my second day, there was no coffee, no milk, and the fridge was almost completely empty with very little vegetarian food available. I was told a food order had been placed, but by day five the fridge was still empty, so I had to buy my own coffee, milk and some dinners.

I asked several times about the food, but it felt like it was an inconvenience to even ask. I also spoke to Hakan about my concerns. It wasn't until around day six that a proper food delivery finally arrived, but by then I had spent almost a week unable to prepare my own meals as expected.

Another issue was expectations during my free time. The manager wanted me to stay on the rooftop after my shift to keep guests there rather than going out. then One evening I went for dessert with two hostel guests after around 11pm, and I was told he didn't like Workaway volunteers "stealing his customers." The following day, two new workaways asked if i wanted to join them to explore so i went.. i could see fatih giving me bad looks from the desk.... and I was called for a chat the next morning where I was told this was also a problem.

As a volunteer on a working holiday, I believe my free time should be my own, provided my work responsibilities are completed. I felt uncomfortable being told how I should spend my evenings.

Because of these issues, I decided to leave. When I packed my bags, the manager became angry, shouted at me, and asked who had given me permission to leave, which made the situation even more uncomfortable.

It's a shame because the hostel itself had potential and I met some wonderful people, but the lack of basic food provisions, poor communication, this wasn't a positive Workaway experience for me.
