  Calling all visionaries and community cultivators! Since 2019, we've been nurturing the seeds of transformation on 1.5 hectares of young woodland near Paredes de Coura. Our aim? To grow a thriving food forest and co-living space while addressing the pressing challenges of our time. While we've laid the groundwork, we're seeking fellow pioneers to help shape the next chapter of our community's story.

  - 🌳 A flourishing food forest, with some trees already establishing nicely
  - 🏡 A co-living space that balances privacy and community
  - 🌍 A hub for new rurals, digital nomads, and seasonal workers
  - ♻️ A model for regenerative living in the face of global ecological and social challenges
  
  Our renovated stone house, with its common kitchen, workshop, and living room, forms the heart of what we hope will grow into a vibrant community space—with your help.

  Here, you're not just joining our project —— you're becoming part of a warm regional network. Expect invitations to:
  - 🧘‍♀️ Local yoga classes
  - 🍻 Friendly gatherings at the neighborhood bar
  - 🌡️ Rejuvenating visits to nearby hot springs
  - 🎉 Lively parties, concerts, and cultural events
  
  At any given time, we usually have 3-6 people staying on the land. This creates a cozy atmosphere while still offering plenty of personal space. We've cultivated an environment that respects individual needs and differences, welcoming diverse personalities and perspectives.

  - 🏠 For long-term visionaries (1+ year residencies), there's our 7.5m yurt floor, two additional spots inside the forest for tiny houses etc. and two locations which are legally constructible.:
  
  🌱 Where We Stand
  While we've made significant progress since 2019, there's still much to do:
  - 🏡 Our stone house renovation is complete, providing a cozy base
  - 🍳 The kitchen and living room are functional and welcoming
  - 🌳 Planted trees in our food forest are establishing well
  - 🚀 The exciting work of further developing the land and community continues
  
  We're acutely aware of the global challenges we face—climate change, resource depletion, and social upheaval. Our project aims to be a small but meaningful response to these issues, exploring ways to live more sustainably and regeneratively.
  
  🤝 Join the Growing Circle
  We're able to host 2-3 households (singles, couples, or small families) ready to roll up their sleeves and be part of our evolving story. Here's how:
  
  1. 🌱 Start with a 3-8 week "taster" experience
  2. 🌿 If we click, return for a 2-3 month deeper dive
  3. 🌳 For those all-in on the vision, we'll explore a 9-12 month co-creation period

  - ⏰ Contribute about 3 hours daily, 5 days a week to nurturing our dream
  - 🌱 Be prepared for the challenges (and rewards!) of community living
  - 🤝 Connect with nature, yourself, and a growing circle of humans
  - 📚 Learn hands-on about regenerative practices, community building, and self-discovery
  - 👨‍🌾 Work alongside Mathijs (while he's not on his desk work — building AI to accelerate agroforestry) as well as our seasoned agroforestry guides, Nuno and Shiloh
  
  This is an opportunity to be part of something special. The work is hard but purposeful. The conversations are deep, sometimes challenging, as we continue to shape our vision together. We balance our awareness of global issues with a commitment to joyful, meaningful action.

  We believe that learning to live together harmoniously is an essential and enriching journey. This process involves mastering the arts of communication, care, and setting healthy boundaries. Our community is a living laboratory where we explore these interpersonal dynamics, recognising that in an ever-changing world, reliance on collective wisdom and mutual support is vital for well-being.
  
  Mathijs, with his background in physics, informatics, and a broad spectrum of interests ranging from technology, economy, and cosmology to deep ecology and community dynamics, is eager to share knowledge and experiences. Plus, we embrace a wide array of skills and insights from our extended network of friends, volunteers, and local collaborators. Our community thrives on a diverse exchange of ideas, from practical skills in sustainable living and agroforestry to philosophical discussions on consciousness and societal structures.

  Ongoing tasks
  - Join our dedicated forest managers 1-2 days/week, working on the land. 🧑‍🌾💪🏽
  - Pruning, chipping wood, preparing firewood. 🪵🪓
  - Clearing weeds. 🍀🌾🌱
  - Pointing our newly build walls with lime mortar. 🛠️
  - Finish existing tree inventory. 🌳🗺️📍
  - Watering our trees, plants and gardens. 💦🌱
  - Feeding and petting our two cats while owners are traveling. 🐈🐈‍⬛
  
  Overall
  We are inviting you to join us in the process, we are looking for individuals and couples to join us to form a temporary/prototype community. We prefer it if you stay longer (3-12 weeks), are autonomous, respect yourself and others and communicate your needs and limits clearly. 🧠💪🏽❤️🧘‍♂️🗣️
  
  We expect you to help maintain your and our space clean and comfortable, share in common household tasks (cleaning, cooking, shopping, animal care). As a matter of fact, this is the only absolutely required work. Anything additional is fully optional. As such, we will not offer you food and we propose to equally share living expenses - or you can buy and prepare your own food if you please.
  
  There is always a lot to be done (forest maintenance, various construction works, coordination, household and animal care) and you are free to choose what to get involved in. If you stay longer, you could even develop some projects of your own!

  Acomodação

  We offer two options:
  - Camping in your own or a tent provided by us anywhere in the forest. 🏕️
  - A dedicated spot for your car or small (camper)van, with water, electricity and fibre internet. 🚐
  
  Our (nearly fully) renovated house features a common living room/kitchen and a comfy bathroom with toilet and shower. In the forest there's a solar shower which is truly idyllic and our dry toilet through which you'll help us feed baby trees some years from now! 💩♻️🌳

  We've excellent fibre (full wifi coverage) in the house and throughout most of the forest.
