  Hello! We are a Japanese family living in Nakatsugawa, Gifu, a countryside area surrounded by mountains, rivers, and nature.
  
  We live in an old traditional Japanese house, and we are slowly renovating and improving it step by step. I work as a software engineer, and I am also interested in old house renovation, countryside living, small local projects, and creating a warm home in the countryside.
  
  Our place is not a finished project yet. It is a real home and a work in progress. So we would be happy to welcome people who enjoy helping with practical things, being flexible, and becoming part of everyday countryside life in Japan.
  
  The help may depend on the season and our situation, but it could include cleaning, organizing, simple DIY, gardening, cooking together, English conversation. You do not need to be a professional. What matters most is that you are respectful, careful, independent, and willing to help.
  
  Nakatsugawa is not a big city, but that is part of its charm. You can enjoy mountains, rivers, quiet evenings, local food, small towns, hot springs, traditional scenery, and a slower pace of life. If you like nature, local culture, simple daily life, and seeing a more real side of Japan, I think you will enjoy this area.

  At our home, we would like to offer cultural exchange through real everyday life in the Japanese countryside, rather than only a tourist experience.
  
  Workawayers can experience local life by sharing meals with our family, having daily conversations, cooking together, going shopping, helping around the house, walking around the neighborhood, and spending time in nature. If the timing is right, we would also be happy to visit local events, small shops, hot springs, mountains, rivers, or traditional old town areas together.
  
  We can share Japanese family life, simple Japanese language, home cooking, countryside living, and the process of slowly improving an old Japanese house. We can also share our experience of living in a rural area and being connected with the local community.
  
  I work as a software engineer, so if you are interested, I would also be happy to talk about IT, remote work, personal projects, and working independently.
  
  At the same time, we are very interested in learning from people from other countries. We would love to learn about your culture, language, food, family life, way of working, travel experiences, and how you see Japan from an outside perspective. English conversation is also a very valuable part of the exchange for us.

  The main help we are looking for is to slowly improve our old Japanese house and the surrounding area, making it more comfortable, welcoming, and enjoyable for our family.
  
  The tasks may change depending on the season and the situation of the house, but they may include cleaning, organizing, tidying up the garden, weeding, simple DIY, sorting old furniture and tools, helping with cooking, and supporting daily household tasks.
  
  We would also be happy to have English conversation and hear your ideas from an international point of view.
  
  You do not need to be a professional. Experience with DIY, carpentry, gardening, cooking, or teaching English would be very welcome, but it is not required. What matters most to us is that you are respectful, careful, flexible, and happy to help as part of everyday life.
  
  We would like to work together as much as possible. We are not professional builders, but we enjoy learning and improving the house step by step. If you have any skills or knowledge, we would love to learn from you. In return, we can share Japanese daily life, countryside culture, local places, simple Japanese language, home cooking, and our experience of living in rural Japan.
  
  This place is probably a good fit for someone who enjoys quiet countryside life, practical work, cultural exchange, and being part of a real Japanese home rather than only sightseeing. We value a positive attitude, good communication, and mutual respect more than perfect skills.

  Yes, we are very interested in language exchange. We would be happy to have daily English conversation with Workawayers in a natural and relaxed way. We are not looking for formal lessons, but we would love to practice English through everyday life, meals, house projects, walks, cooking, and casual conversations. In return, we can help you learn simple Japanese, useful daily phrases, Japanese culture, and local countryside life. We hope language exchange will be a natural part of living together, sharing meals, helping each other, and learning about each other’s cultures.

  We can offer a clean and safe sleeping space in our home. You will stay in a small Western-style room of about 5 tatami mats in size. Our house is an old Japanese countryside house, but it has been fully renovated, so you can enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional rural home with modern comfort.
  
  Bedding will be provided, and you will have access to the bathroom, toilet, kitchen, and basic household facilities. The room is simple, but we will do our best to make sure it is comfortable and welcoming.
  
  Please understand that this is a real family home in the countryside, not a hotel or guesthouse. However, we hope you will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, the renovated old house, and the chance to experience everyday life in rural Japan.
  
  For food, we would like to share some meals together when possible. We can cook simple Japanese home meals, and we would also be happy to cook together or learn about food from your country. Depending on our schedule, some meals may be self-catering, but we will discuss this clearly before your arrival.
  
  We hope the accommodation will feel like staying with a local family, sharing daily life, meals, conversations, and small projects together.

  Our home is in the countryside, so life here is quiet and peaceful, but please understand that it is not convenient like a city. There is no public transportation near our house, and shops or convenience stores are not within walking distance. Even going to a convenience store usually requires a car.
  
  The nearest train station is about 20 minutes away by car. We can usually pick you up from the station when you arrive and take you back when you leave. Depending on our schedule, we may also be able to drive you to shops, local places, or sightseeing spots together.
  
  Because of the location, this place is best for someone who is comfortable with rural life and does not need to go out alone every day. We recommend planning shopping and personal errands when we go out together.
  
  On your days off, you can enjoy nature, walking around the neighborhood, mountains, rivers, hot springs, local shops, traditional town areas, and a peaceful countryside atmosphere. When the weather is good, we can also enjoy outdoor activities at home, such as having a BBQ. We have a BBQ grill, so it would be nice to cook and eat together outside.
  
  As this is our family home, we hope to welcome someone who is respectful, considerate, and comfortable sharing daily life with us. We appreciate simple things like keeping shared spaces clean, communicating openly, and being mindful of our family rhythm.
  
  Smoking is not allowed inside the house. We also try to keep the evenings quiet and relaxed.

Please note that we are in a rural area, not a city. There are no coworking spaces or cafés within walking distance, and going to shops or the station usually requires a car. The nearest train station is about 20 minutes away by car, and we can help with pick-up and drop-off when needed and when our schedule allows. If you need very fast or very stable internet for long video calls, online meetings, or heavy uploads, please check with us before your stay so we can make sure it fits your needs. This is a family home, not a coworking facility, but we will do our best to provide a calm and comfortable environment. This place is probably best for digital nomads who like a slower pace, can plan their work and shopping ahead, and are happy to balance helping, cultural exchange, family life, and their own remote work.

  We have some outdoor space on our property, so it may be possible to park a campervan or a small motorhome, depending on the size of the vehicle. Please note that this is not an official campsite or RV park, so the facilities are simple. We do not currently offer dedicated campervan facilities such as full hook-up, waste disposal, or special camping equipment. However, if you are staying with us, we can discuss access to basic facilities such as the toilet, bathroom, kitchen, and water. Because our home is in the countryside and the access road or parking space may not be suitable for all vehicles, please contact us before arrival with the size of your campervan or motorhome. We would like to make sure it is safe and comfortable before confirming.

  We are open to welcoming pets after discussion, especially friendly dogs that are used to staying in a home. Because this is our family home, we would like to talk with you in advance to make sure the stay will be comfortable for everyone, including your pet. Cats or other small animals may also be possible depending on the situation, so please feel free to ask us. Our home is in the countryside and we have some outdoor space, so it may be a nice environment for pets who enjoy a quiet and natural setting.
