We are looking for a Campsite Assistant April to Sept 2026
come and help us provide a range of self-catering holiday accommodation on the Isle of Canna.
The campsite has 3 Camping Pods and space for around 12 tent pitches. Plus cooking facilities and a shower/toilet block;
On other sites around the island we have the West Caravan and Sanday Caravan (both sleep 4), Kate’s Cottage Bunkhouse (sleeps 8), Sanday Cabin (sleeps 2)
We are looking for someone to help with:
Cleaning to a high standard within a tight turnaround between ferries
Laundry - washing and ironing all linen for accommodation
Meeting guests and giving directions, collection and transport of luggage
Maintenance - helping out with small jobs e.g. painting or gardening
What we offer:
Good shared accommodation (inc. WiFi, bills etc.) provided
Seasonal work April - September - start date approx 1-10th April
Flexible hours with plenty of time off to explore the island
Good rates of pay
Time off to enjoy summer on our beautiful island - time off to explore/borrow our kayaks/ chill out

Necessary Skills:
Practical experience in an operational role in a holiday accommodation business.
Excellent cleaning and laundry skills
Driving licence essential
Energetic, hardworking and able to cope under pressure
NOTES:
Accommodation: bedroom in a modern 4 bedroom house shared with other seasonal staff and contractors.
This role covers the months of April to September 2026. Start/finish dates to be arranged.
Wages: £12.71/ hour - with good free staff accommodation inc no utility bills/ free wifi ,
Hours: approx 30 hours per week but dependent on bookings. Days off arranged around work rota.
You will have plenty of time off to enjoy summer on our beautiful island - time off to explore/borrow our kayaks/ chill out

This also gives you the opportunity to spend some time on our lovely island of Canna and be part of the community here.
There is a lot to learn about living on an island and how the island resources are managed by the community.
We are used to having workaways and other people coming to the island over the year.
We just want people to come, enjoy our island and have a very positive experience of being here. In your time here you will meet and interact with all my family and most of the island population who are very welcoming.
You can also take part in community events including the Small Isles Games, Ceilidhs and beach cleaning days.
On Canna there is a population of 17 people and my family are from this island.
The nearest point on the mainland is Mallaig where you get the ferry from and the nearest town is Fort William.
There is a small cafe/bar in the summer and a community shop and we have a great harbour with lots of visiting boats and yachts. Canna is a great place for wildlife, birdwatching, fishing, kayaking. -

Campsite Assistant needed to assist in the delivery of quality self-catering accommodation and support the campsite
Help ensure the smooth running of the Campsite at all times with a focus on sustainable tourism, a positive customer experience and a good working team.
The main skills that are needed are high levels of cleaning skills and laundry skills. You will be supported in your work by the Campsite Owner/Manager who will deal with bookings and customer communication. This post is for the months April - September 2025 -

Accommodation: We provide very good quality staff accommodation with all utility bills included. This is provided in a modern 4 bedroom house which will be shared with 3 other seasonal staff. These staff members will be working either at the campsite or cafe.

The little island has lots of wildlife and has loads of archeology, culture and local heritage. Workawayers can also spend time fishing,kayaking or just walking and relaxing.

My experience on Canna was extraordinary. The island is extremely amazing and although getting there was quite challenging for me, I would never change it for anything else.
