I was lucky enough to spend 2.5 weeks with Glen, Karen and the crew around the end of October/November. With it being my first workaway experience I wasn't totally sure what to expect, but I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat! The longer I stayed the more I appreciated how well run things were and how they have found a great balance which
… read more benefits the workawayers, host, animals, and the land. Between Karen & Glen they have a wealth of knowledge which they can share with you and I enjoyed picking at it and have taken away a number of valuable lessons in a variety of fields.
On the farm each day was something new but also came with a routine in part. In the morning you would check up on everyone and look out for anything out of sorts, if I couldn't hear loud snoring coming from the pig houses I would've been worried! From here the day unfolds and you devise a little plan with some breakfast. The variety of tasks we completed was something I particularly enjoyed and lead to excitement as to what might be next, the sheep loved to be centre of attention so tasks may be interrupted with a runaway sheep or three coming to say hello! One thing I found particularly difficult was working at the sister farm up the road, Glen expected me to complete jobs like fencing and land clearing whilst 10 piglets charged around the place pleading for me to play with them. It was here my work ethic dropped significantly but the piglets appreciated my time...
All in all I cannot recommend this place enough. I think it's the perfect place to grow yourself and gain more of an understanding of animals, where food comes from and what life was like before it became so modernised. It is well worth a slight detour out to Bretagne and spending 2-4 weeks there is something you will not regret. Best wishes Glen & Karen and to my favourite, Eugenie aka "the barrel". Hope you all have a cozy warm winter! 4th time lucky for England perhaps... :)Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (Scott)

We had such an amazing time with Karen and Glen! We enjoyed our time at Afrinoon immensely. You totally fall for the animals, even as they may come and go (we will always remember beautiful Winston!) and it's clear that Karen and Glen care for them immensely which is lovely to see.
The accomodation is wonderful, you have a rustic but very clean, comfortable and warm space (although we were there in summer!) with all its own facilities, and a much enjoyed hammock!
We doubt anyone would regret messaging these guys, it was a great experience, with hugely diverse jobs, lots of lovely attention from the dogs, many 'Dad Jokes' from Glen hehe, lots of opportunities to learn and grow, and lots of downtime to read and relax in nature too!

Kentish joined us as a first-time volunteer, and we can categorically say he was a star.

Among other tasks, he assisted Glen in taking down trees in our forest, moved wood, did wood chipping,

We spent a wonderful week here - Karen's and Glen's magical residence. We found this little gem in the middle of Brittany to be such a happy place for nature, people and animals to thrive.
Straight from the very beginning we felt welcome as Karen and Glen are such kind, open, attentive and caring people with the loveliest animals around.
Every

Also, they would always take their time to share their vast and precious knowledge in permaculture, gardening, animal husbandry, water or woodland management (and many other topics), their stories and experiences as well as their personal approaches and perspectives on life. We were deeply inspired by their words, their actions and the passion they resonated.
At the same time Karen and Glen were very interested in getting to know us and our views. We had many interesting, deep-diving, thoughtful and also humorous conversations and situations (often also with the animals involved :)) which make us return home with beautiful new memories, ideas and a lot of input to process in our minds to enrich our development and self-growth.
Thank you so much again for a fantastic and inspiring time and for giving so much to us, Karen & Glen. We would have loved to stay longer and hope to be back one day. Keep going to be the change that you want to see in the world! Actions speak louder than words! <3

Caro and Nico joined us for a week and we truely had a wonderfully constructive and enriching time with them.

Jonathan joined us for just over a week in mid October. He was coming to the end of his 3 month european travels and wanted a place to stop and take a break.

He had little prior

Our time spent at Karen and Glenn was amazing 😊
We had the opportunity to do and try a lot of things and we really appreciated the fact that they trusted us with taking care of the house and the animals.
For sure one of the best and healthy ways to start your day is by taking care of the animals. A big lesson for us was understanding that we

Glenn's humour and Karen's colorful laughter brightened our days there. They made us feel really comfortable and they were always checking to see whether we had everything we needed. We had some great talks with them and they were more than happy to share their knowledge on permaculture and other topics. We would have loved to spend more time with Glenn, but for sure we had some great moments together. We even got to meet Karen's brother, a very kind and genuine soul.
The food was also very delicious! Karen surprised us with a great way of cooking and showed us how easy it can be to plan your meals beforehand. Glenn is a very organised handyman and he has a lot of interesting tools. The honey which he takes from his bees is extremely delicious! We had it for breakfast almost every morning, hihi.
We miss Karen, Glenn and the animals (especially the dogs), and we hope that in the future we can put in practice what we learned and surprise them with our permaculture way of living.
Take care. Sending hugs from El Camino 💜Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

From cleaning animal houses, feeding pigs, checking and moving sheep to setting up goat camps.
Daiana and Andrei are very relaxed and easy to get on with. We had many an interesting conversation as they are both bright and very conscious individuals, and we enjoyed learning from them and sharing cultural insights.
We felt so reassured and comfortable with them that we asked them to take solo charge of our animals and property whilst I was away in Paris for a medical appointment for 2 days.

Thank you again so much Karen and Glen ! (And Glen if you want to understand this review, don’t skip your next French class ;) All the best !Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (Oscar)
Oscar arrived at our site for his first workaway experience with his customary enthusiasm, openness to learn and willingness to get stuck into any task.
He stayed with us for a month and we loved hosting him. We found him to be intelligent, articulate, discreet, reflective and also easy going and friendly. We enjoyed sharing ideas (and his

He immersed himself in each social occasion, and everyone that met him commented on how wonderful they found him. He really connects easily with many different kinds of people.
As well getting on socially, he quickly got into the rhythm with the farm animals and dogs, demonstrating care and compassion. He walked goats, fed pigs and fowl, fixed fences, chased sheep, cleared and chipped branches, weeded gardens, created a pond waterfall and painted beautiful artwork onto a couple of furniture pieces.
Oscar really helped us move some of our projects forward, and his contribution is greatly appreciated.
