  Hello! Below is a longer description of our home and family life that we love to share with others.... Usually we need two workaways to look after our animals and home whilst we're away (see specific dates below), and occasionally we host individual or two workaways when we're also at home. Ideally we are looking for any of the following profiles:
  
  - A gardener who would know how to tame, organise and make the most of our wild garden/vegetable patch.
  Or
  - Someone who would enjoy restoring furniture, organising and deep cleaning our home
  Or
  - Anyone with building or carpentry skills

  We currently need workaway help to animal sit from:

  August 19-September 3
  
  Please specify which dates you are available for in your message. If more than one are possible, that would be a bonus, so please also say so in your message. These are the days when we may be away, but there is also the possibility to stay with us a few days more either side if preferred.

  I can take pick you up from Valencia city, and I'm happy to drive you back into the city during your stay so you can experience both Valencia, as well as our home in the surrounding countryside!
  
  When we're away, we are ideally looking for real dog lovers who are comfortable with our big dog panda, and enjoy long hikes in nature to give her some good exercise. If you enjoy gardening and would be able to help there, or have a skill in construction, that would also be hugely beneficial! We've also adopted two kittens, Melocotón and Pipa, who only want cuddles and food, and there are also chickens (Corn and Dacsa) who need feeding. Our home is slightly out of the way (20-30 min walk to the nearest village), so it's also best if you're someone who enjoys this remoteness.

  If you are passing through Valencia and would like to stay a few days ( ideally over a weekend), we may be able to accommodate you so feel free to contact us!
  
  Depending on plans and our kids school schedule, we'll be able to spend time together, or if we´re busy or out, you can just enjoy the home, keep our big, friendly dog company, and take her to explore the surrounding countryside at the foothills of the Sierra Calderona National Park.

  We're Mel and Pablo, a Spanish-English family with two kids, Maia and Max, aged 9 and 10 years old, a big & friendly dog, two kitties and chickens.
  
  We live in a completely off-grid Countryside home, 30 minutes from Valencia city, surrounded by orange groves and with spectacular views over the natural park mountain range.
  
  We have a rustic home, although it has all the usual appliances, a lovely big garden, a swimming pool and a huge BBQ, all to share with a special workaway volunteer.

  As a Spanish/English family, we're able to offer both cultures and a home life where both languages are spoken fluently. We can offer conversation in either language if you want to improve your Spanish or English, and we can show you the cultural sides of both countries like, for example, how to cook a typical Valencian paella or an English breakfast ; )

  Ajuda

  Apart for looking after our dog and giving her exercise, other support may include gardening and vegetable patch maintenance. If you like kids, there's always a football kick around or board game to be played!
  
  In the summer, outdoor tasks need to be done early and/or late in the day when the sun isn't so strong, so ideally you'll be a morning person, unlike us.
  
  Bonus skills would include developing creative tasks to bring a spark of magic to our home and garden, having real gardening knowledge (something we lack but wish we had), being able to do basic tasks (and/or DIY), and enjoying speaking English to and interacting with our kids!
  
  We may need a little help during the day maintaining the house and preparing food, but we do not expect these tasks on a regular basis.
  
  It's really important to us that this is also a positive and fulfilling experience for the volunteer in every way possible. We will ensure that you have at least two full days free every week.

  Acomodação

  The caravan can be used as your own personal space if we are also in the house, and there is a proper toilet for your own use outside, just next to the caravan.
  
  If we are not at home for an evening/night, or you are also home sitting, you can use the home as if it were your own, and we will provide you with a bed inside the house.

  Algo mais...

  There are endless things to do and see in Valencia, from the city centre and it's surrounding long coastline, to the most remote and stunning mountain hikes and refreshing river environments. Many are very close and accessible to our home. Ideally you will have a car, as the closest public transport is a 20 minute walk from the house, but if not we can also help with transport as we go to Valencia city nearly every day.
