I am SREY SAMBO Called Pagna, my organization is located in the countryside nearby Siem Reap. I speak English and want to educate our children with a key focus on language skills and computer skills to give them a better chance in the future. I believe it is very important to help our children to be successful, I hope with extra funding this organization will be able to grow and expand reaching out to more children, providing vocational training, community development, and extra lessons.
I have been teaching here for a number of years but am in need of volunteers to help this project grow, anyone who would like to come and support me and our projects are very welcome. We have classrooms where most of our lessons take place, this is where you can assist our Khmer teachers as they teach the children. We teach young children in the morning from 7.30 am until 11:30 am, and afternoon from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm we teach young adult students from 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm at night.
I accept Workawayers who wish to stay at least two weeks, however, if you feel uncomfortable, you can leave at any time. Obviously, we would love to have you as long as possible and longer stays are preferred.
We can also arrange an option for you or for your friends to come as a guest, even for just 1 night.
In addition to this, a certificate is provided as proof of involvement with the school and I can be used as a reference for any teaching jobs you may want to apply for in the future. The school is the ideal place as a starting point for anyone holding a TEFL certificate as it offers the opportunity to practice teaching skills and classroom management, although we do welcome anyone to join - whether you have any prior experience/teaching certificate or not.
Accommodation is provided in Lvea or Kampong pluck villages with a Cambodian family along with 2 meals a day but in the morning you can have tea or cofee.
In addition to the unique opportunity to give disadvantaged kids better chance for the future, you will have the chance to experience life in a modest village in the Lush Countryside of Cambodia. In your free time, you can explore the nature surrounding the Villages: Countless hectares of ricefields, many coconut trees, and some water buffalos, all of that away from the noise of the city. I can also take you to the best spot for sunset or sunrise as well as bring you on a boat tour in the floating Village on your days off.
Thank you for considering us, we are looking forward to welcoming you to our Community!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
As a volunteer, travelers will learn about Cambodia culture and customs, as well as have the opportunity to help children learn. Often, there are many students but not enough teachers. Volunteers can increase their overall teaching skills and have the perspective from being involved in teaching in an area where there is poverty. In addition, volunteers can learn how to fix and build homes, and know that families in need are being helped.
Este projeto pode envolver crianças. Para mais informações, veja aqui nossas diretrizes e dicas.
Workawayer with US!
We are in need of up to 6 volunteers at the time for ideally at least three weeks and as long as desired.
We welcome volunteers preferably with special skills in teaching, business management, web development, fundraising and child development, however all help is appreciated so don't worry if you have no experience.
Volunteers are needed to help the children work on their reading skills in the library and to provide English interaction on the playground.
We look forward to hearing from you!

•What is the accommodation like?
One of the highlights for our volunteers is the opportunity to experience a home stay in a rural village. Facilities at our two locations are very basic but authentic and the host families are very hospitable. In Lvea Village you will have your own hut on stilts. All huts are set up with beds, mattresses, pillows, mosquito nets and fans. Toilets and bathing areas are shared and have no running water, so you will need to use rain water to bathe as the locals do, by scooping water on yourself. This can take a bit of getting used to, but is actually refreshing, especially on the really hot days.
•Will I have time for extra activities?
On weekends and when volunteer tasks have been completed for the day, you will have free time for other activities. This might include visiting the local temples, relaxing in a hammock with a good book, cycling around the local area, taking a cooking class, or going into Siem Reap town. You may also have the opportunity to attend a traditional community ceremony such as a wedding or Buddhist celebration.
•How do I get there and around?
Our two schools and homestays are approximately 26km (30-50 minutes tuk-tuk ride) from Siem Reap town. We can arrange a tuk-tuk for you, or give directions to your own tuk-tuk driver, it’s up to you. The cost for a tuk-tuk is $15-$20 one way.
While in the village, you are welcome to use one of the volunteer bicycles to travel between schools and around the local area.
