I'm a semi retired landscape & garden architect and bought this 100acres unique coastal rainforest conservation property near Berry on the South Coast, 3 years ago.
My main purpose with the land is to get to know the flora & fauna, learn the different ecosystems and wildlife plus educate myself how to preserve and improve the property and eradicate weeds and feral animals as much as possible.
The house on the property is an architectural gem which i have preserved during the total renovation plus we build The Black Barn for our kids, friends, family and any guest.
The property is 2hrs south of Sydney and 10min from the beautiful town of Berry, close to Kiama, Gerroa, Gerringong and Nowra.
Seven Miles beach is only 20min and Jervis Bay Marine & national Park with its Dolphins, Rays. a variety of birds and other wild life plus its white beaches is only a 45min drive. -

I emigrated 40years ago from The Netherlands, I’m a Landscape & garden Architect with a great interest in Architecture and Nature and eager to learn about the Australian flora & Fauna and sharing my knowledge with people around me.
We got a list of endangered species on my property which would be great to get identified and located.
If you like stone tasks, there is an opportunity to help with the local available stones, where you are able to put your creativity to work. Entrance wall, seating walls and other building works plus painting & gardening tasks etc

The Barn is totally new with 2 luxury bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms and queen size beds
In regard to cooking, i will check in with my guest and communicate how we can organise this. -

I got a spare car, Subaru Brumby, which can be used for shopping etc in Berry (10Min). . The property borders Barren Grounds National Park with incredible escarpments and amazing views towards the Shoalhaven coastline, Drawing Room Rocks famous outlook is only a short distance drive/walk.
Seven miles Beach is 15min and Shoalhaven beach is 20 min, Nowra is 30min and Jarvis Bay is 45min.
Sydney by train from Berry is 2.5hrs and a great ride, with possible stops at eg Royal National Park. -

They mainly did landscape/building works including plumbing, welding , carpentry, concreting, tree clearing etc etc
All work was done to a very high standards. i will miss them as they became great friends and meeting lots of my friends & family .

My tasks were mostly to help maintaining the green part around the house, keep the trees away on the road to the house and helped for certain projects like building up the sauna and tiling the outdoor part of the house - which was my suggestion to do so as I'm a landscape … read more
