Do you find meaning in giving a helping hand? Do you like to meet people from around the world? Do you enjoy exploring nature? If so, this is the place for you!
Join our family of helpers and local staff. We run a hostel, located in the historical heart of Tiberias, just 100 meters from the water line of the Sea of Galilee and a short ride away from many nature reserves and beaches. The perfect home-base for exploring the northern regions of Israel - the Galilee, the Golan Heights, Jordan valley and the lake itself. Everything is a walk, a hitch or a bus away.
In 2015, we opened the hostel and have been renovating and designing on the run. We have been working day and night to turn it into a comfortable base for guests to head out and explore the surrounding areas. It’s our goal to provide excellent service and travel advice for our guests and staff, all in the effort to make exploring the area easy and fun!
You are welcome to join this project and growing family, take part in daily chores of cleaning and making breakfast, bar shifts, and cooking.
** for paid position you need to have a work visa or be citizen of israel. in which case we can talk about the optional positions, salary and other technical details **

BREAKFAST PREP - Our guests are hungry in the morning! We provide the most rich and affordable breakfast in Tiberias and we need your help to prepare it.
CLEANING - Running a clean hostel is one of our highest priorities. We believe our guests deserve to wake up or check-in at a clean hostel. This includes turning beds, cleaning the common areas, hallways and kitchen. If you have never held a mop or broom in your life, don’t worry! It’s easier than you think and never too late to learn a new skill ;)
MAINTENANCE - This is a constant need for running a hostel. Things break, need replacing or upgrading. You will be asked to perform simple tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, painting walls and light wood work.
RENOVATION AND ART PROJECTS - We are always thinking of ways to revamp and upgrade our place. If you have a skill or ideas you’d like to share with us, please let us know. We’d love to get your input, utilize your skills and have you realize your potential.
PLEASE NOTE - Please only message us if you’d like to volunteer with us, don’t send us template requests. We will also answer you individually. Also, to help the process, specify the dates you’re interested in coming.

We appreciate your help and would like you to focus on your mission with us rather than worry about food or accommodation.
All volunteers get a bed in our volunteer shared dorm. Male and female have separate dorms. Both rooms are airconditioned and have lockers and storage. Linen included. This is why all volunteers are invited to join our guests for a great daily breakfast. We also provide grains and legumes (rice, lentils, pasta, quinoa etc.), as well as bread, eggs and fresh veggies for your other meals. We do our best to make your stay with us as comfortable and fun as possible. We ask that in return you do your best as well.

Nature and history are all around us - Holy Christian and Jewish sites, natural springs, biking and hiking trails. You can explore the Galilee and go further to the Golan Heights, where you'll find great wineries, breweries, the highest waterfall you can swim in in the whole country and much more natural beauty. All these are within your reach! Sometimes we go together sometimes you'll find a guest or fellow team member. What's important to us is that you ask us if you have any questions and actually get out there. The more you experience the more you'll never want to leave.
Furthermore, on your days off, we can book you a free night in other hostels around the country. Just keep exploring!

This was my first time volunteering at a hostel and I had a great time! The breakfast was delicious and it was a pleasant surprise to see how much peanut butter and chocolate spread there was. Great relaxing place wuth so many sightseeing spots in Tiberias. My favorite was Jordan river.

I stayed in Omer's hostel for about three weeks, not the one in Tiberias but in Haifa. The work to do is a lot, but the owners are very chill. Good vibes. I worked as a general cleaner and on various projects, depends from the shifts. They provide you breakfast and lunch. A good experience overall

I didn't stay long in Tiberias but it was a very good experience. Nice hostel and very cool people. Many of the customers were Israeli families which gave me a better understanding of the culture of the country. The lake is also super nice and pleasant. Thank you for everything !

I realy enjoyed my first workaway experience at the Hostel! The crew was so friendly, I felt at home right away:) Work isn't difficult, sunrises/sunsets at the cozy rooftop are beautiful, Palona's cooking skills are amazing and the sea of galilee is only 5min away!!

I had a great time here!
Everybody, the staff and the other volunteers, was super nice and and it soon felt like a big family. The work was fine, I usually did cleaning or the bar shift, which wasn't too hard.
I already miss the Caipirinha nights and the family trips with ''Mama'' Polona and I hope I'll be back some day :hearts:

My first workaway experience and it was all I could ever wish for! I had such an amazing time in the Hostel together with the other volunteers and amazing staff. That was my first experience and I'm very happy with my choice. In the Hostel I spent six short weeks. I did what I like the best. It was never boring. I had fantastic time among cool people, nice views especially from the roof- that will be the best place there. I hope to go back someday.

Well...if I say I really enjoyed every day and every single moment here? Good worker, very talented and smart, independent. too much at times, maybe the best to give him projects and not detailed instructions. Also picked up on other helpers even if they had their issues, not very nice of him, it caused bad vibes in the crew. Had to let him go.
