  We are a busy of five looking for someone who would like a big sister role in our busy household.
  
  We have been hosting international language students and au pairs for 14 years and have loved the experience of sharing cultures and also food. We have made lifelong friends and have kept in touch with and are still visited by previous au-pairs.Our children are now 20, 16 and 13 and no longer need an au pair, so we are looking for travellers to bring a little of their culture into our home and help us the day to day running and maintenance of a home and bush property.
  
  We would also like to show you around our lovely corner of the world. We are 30 minutes from Brisbane CBD by car, however public transport isn’t very good near our house so it is more suited to people wanting more of a Farmstay/semi-rural experience. We live in an area that is great for bushwalking and mountain biking . Our family’s interests are bush walking, rock climbing, horse riding, ballet, arts and crafts , board games and camping.
  
  We live on 10 acres and have chickens, sheep, dogs, guinea pigs, horses and an abundance of weeds that all need taking care of.

  You are welcome to come on outings with our family if you wish. You will get to experience life in an Australian family, see some local bushwalking spots and some local wildlife.

  Ajuda

  We are looking for a fun and energetic person who is happy to spend the morning hanging out with a 13 yo girl, who doesn’t mind getting dirty in the garden, will jump on the trampoline, play with Guinea pigs and other animals, do arts and crafts, help with all the animal chores, help cook lunch and help clean up all the mess from the mornings fun.
  
  Someone who is also happy to jump in and help us around the house with projects such as:
  Pressure washing the house and pathways and helping with painting.
  Weeding and mulching the garden
  Washing windows
  Raking up horse manure
  Blowing the pathways
  
  We ask for 20 hours help a week, usually 4 hours for 5 days then 2 days off, but are happy to be flexible around your plans. We can also help with transport to and from the bus / train if you want to go exploring.
  
  We are mostly home during the day so we will often be helping alongside you on projects. However there will be times that you will need to help alone or with the children if I am running errands. With a busy house of people coming and going there is always a list of tasks sitting on the kitchen bench for family members to pick from.

  Acomodação

  You would have a large room with a queen bed and a table and chairs. The room is downstairs from the kitchen and we are early risers so it can sound like elephants stomping above you. There is a shared bathroom and toilet with the children. Dinner we all take turns cooking and eat together. Some nights we go for a walk and have a picnic dinner.
  
  We like to eat healthy, gluten free meals. We are meat eaters but are happy to try out vegetarian food and you are always more than welcome to do the cooking.

  Our home is in a very quiet area so isn’t really suitable to people who like the bustling city life and partying. Public transport isn’t very good in our area and it is a 40 minute, hard walk to the nearest bus that comes hourly. We are more than happy to drop you to the bus when we are around but we aren’t always available at short notice.
  
  We don’t accept smokers or vapers in our house. Also we ask that you don’t wear strong perfumes as we are quite sensitive to smells.

  The internet can be a little slow at times, but we manage to make it work when working from home.
