  We are an animal loving family of five looking for a cultural exchange and extra helping hands.
  
  We have been hosting international language students and au pairs for 14 years and have loved the experience of sharing cultures and also food. We have made lifelong friends and have kept in touch with and are still visited by previous au-pairs.Our children are now 18, 15 and 11 and no longer need an au pair, so we are looking for travellers to bring a little of their culture into our home and help us the day to day running and maintenance of a home and bush property.
  
  We would also like to show you around our lovely corner of the world. We are 30 minutes from Brisbane CBD and live in an area that is great for bushwalking, mountain biking and horse riding. Our families interests are rock climbing, skateboarding, horse riding, bush walking and camping.
  
  We live on 10 acres and have chickens, sheep, dogs, guinea pigs, horses and an abundance of weeds that all need taking care of.

  You are welcome to come on outings with our family. We always eat dinner together and have long chats over dinner. We are happy to help with improving your English . We love trying new foods and attempting to learn new languages.

  Ajuda

  We are particularly seeking help from people with a love of horses and children. Most of the help we need will involve the horses and the two younger children. Particularly supervising horse care and riding and doing lots of arts and crafts and cooking with the children.
  
  There are also home maintenance projects such as building fences, painting and high pressure washing . We like to match your jobs to your interests. We would like 20 hours a week or 4 hours a day 5 days a week in exchange for meals and accomodation.
  
  We are mostly home during the day so will often be working alongside you on projects. However there will be times that you will need to work alone or with the children if I am running errands. With a busy house of people coming and going there is always a list of jobs sitting on the kitchen bench for family members to pick from.

  Acomodação

  You would have a large room with a queen bed, a single trundle bed, table and chairs and desk. The room is downstairs from the kitchen and we are early risers so it can sound like elephants stomping above you. There is a shared bathroom and toilet with the children.
  There is a kitchenette where you can prepare your breakfast and lunch. Dinner we all take turns cooking and eat together. Some nights we go for a walk and have a picnic dinner.
  
  We like to eat healthy, gluten free meals. If you would like bread and cereals we ask that you only prepare them in the kitchenette as our son is coeliac.

  The bus is a 10 minute drive or 40 minute (steep) walk from our house. We are happy to drop you to the bus and pick you up (as long as it isn’t too late). Our home is in a very quiet area so isn’t really suitable to people who like the bustling city life and partying.
  
  We don’t accept smokers or vapers in our house. Also we ask that you don’t wear strong perfumes as we are quite sensitive to smells.

  The internet can be a little slow at times, but we manage to make it work when working from home.
