Descrição
Located in the old part of a small farming and forestry village in Liptov central to the High, Low and West Tatry Mountains. There is lots of hiking and cycling, swimming and cultural centres. The house is located next to a 750 year old catholic church.
I bought this then derelict school several years ago and it is already a comfortable and well located place to live and explore the seemingly endless beauty of Liptov and the Tatry.
I am looking for people to offer general help with renovation and build projects, with some landscaping and garden maintenance. There is lots of woodworking (unskilled), plastering or building work and roofing. There is also general maintenance, gardening, cleaning and outside work required.
There is a varied range of work available, get in touch if you wish to spend some time here enjoying the Tatry Mountains.
Updated task list includes: -
Plumbing and heating
Carpentry and wood working
Plastering, roofing and general building
Windows renovation and roof window fitting
Painting
There is always garden care (more landscaping) in summer, sometimes wood stacking and general home maintenance including cleaning but these normally work as fillers to help vary the work.
Working up to 5 hours per day, 5 days per week ideally for a minimum of two weeks. The work schedule is flexible on agreement to ensure you can make as much of your free time to enjoy the area as possible. We have three bicycles (1 electric) as well as longboards and even an inflatable kayak at the moment. We also have some Ski & snowboard equipment for Winter.
The living area is comfortable (you will usually be sharing with others in a room for up to six people (you'll normally be sharing with one or two others, although it can be more for short periods). There is a wood burning range stove in the kitchen for cooking and heating. There are also wood burning stoves in some of the other rooms in addition to the central heating system. Wood for heating is locally sourced and sustainably managed.
There is so much to do in this area in Spring and Summer, including adventure activities and exploring nature and the mountains you will find this a rewarding visit.
Cycling in spring and summer (free bike use), hiking and peak bagging, skiing and snowboarding in winter. Go alone or we can show you around. Plus there are many more outdoor activities.
The cycling options on the doorstep are seemingly endless. We are currently enjoying the routes and forever finding more routes in the area. The hiking opportunities are many and varied with several valleys that rise into the mountains and the Polish border.
We occasionally have BBQs during sunsets in the garden. Also once we get around to installing the fittings there are a couple of hammocks.
This is the main tourist area of Slovakia. Nearby there are lakes and of course mountains and lots of nature in between. There are rivers a short walk away and forests to explore.
3 meals per day are provided within the home, the exact nature of which will be tailored to suit the people present at the time. It will typically consist of self service breakfast with cereals, bread, jams, tea and coffee. Lunches are anything from sandwiches or soups to stir fries and pasta dishes. Dinners are varied, many stir fries with rice and pasta dishes. Vegetarians diets are catered for. Cooking duties are shared.
Please get in touch if you feel this could be suitable for you. If you have read the above please mention the village of Dovalovo in your request and what work / tasks you believe you can contribute to the project.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

The living accommodation is comfortable as much as you would expect in a mountain home, although it is very much in a state of flux with works taking place. It is situated in a superb position with spectacular views. You are likely to be sharing a room with several others.
