  Hello workaway'ers. We are a retired couple in our sixties living in a traditional french country house, located in the south west of France in the foothills of the Pyrenees (Ariege department).
  
  Originally from Holland, we moved to France in 2003. We live in on the outskirts of a small rural village, with just over 800 inhabitants at 520 m altitude in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The nearest small city (Foix) is 8 kms away from us. We speak English, French, German and Dutch. We ran a bed and breakfast for over 10 years, then operated a small business, selling wine and cheese on a few markets in the region. We retired in 2022.
  
  This leaves our rooms available for a workaway'er or two, in exchange for some help. We are not (yet) experienced as workaday hosts, but have successfully entertained and fed thousands of guests in our B&B. So we are confident that we can make this work for both you and ourselves.
  
  We are looking for help in gardening, fencing, painting and various other jobs. If you are familiar with operating a chainsaw, a strimmer and or a spade and maybe looking after our dogs Max and Robin, you could be a great help to us.
  
  We offer lodging, but not systematically feeding you... We will share our knowledge of the region with you. We are into hiking, biking. We also have an organic vegetable garden with polytunnel. Smokers are welcome, but no smoking allowed in the house.

  We are big time into food preparation and preservation. Like modern hunter gatherers we are always hunting for mushrooms, nuts and berries. We would love to share this kind of activities with you.

  We provide workers with a bedroom and a living room. We have fibre optics and adequate WiFi throughout the house and garden.
