We had a lovely time at Gitte's art residency, too bad it was just one week! The house is located at the edge of a small village and there are big and beautiful forests all around, which Gitte is happy to show you. There's also a pretty stream nearby where we spotted dippers every day!
Half the week we were on our own, mostly painting and
… read more cleaning, and the other half Gitte was there too, with her lovely dog Rose. As a host, Gitte takes good care of her workawayers and is genuinely interested in them. We had nice talks, especially while eating porridge in the morning ;-)

It was a pleasure to have these two, and their dog, helping out with cleaning and painting. They stay for just a week. I want to welcome them back.

Holger is an easy and calm person to have in the house. He arrived some time before my dog gave birth to 5 puppies. Rose felt very safe and loved him. He is good with finding solutions for how to fix different working tasks, and I got the help I needed. I did not need to stop my work for helping him. I will recommend him, and he is welcome to come

The time I spent with Gitte in Austmarka was really nice. Not only because of
the amazing Finnskogen that I could explore with Rose, her dog, but also because Gitte was extremely
supporting in every way possible. She organize a speaking partner for me, so I could
improve my Norwegian and lent me her car if I wanted to get anywhere. She

… read more me several tasks and I was free to organize my schedule as I liked it.
One should realize that there is not much going on here and unless there are
other guests at the home be prepared to spend your free time mostly by yourself. For me

Katy has helped me and the NGO art institution for about 2 weeks. My need was not just to have a webpage translated from English to German. What I really needed was somebody to completely rewrite the existing content and bring it into a short, concise form in good German language. Katy, as a long-time professional German and English translator and
… read more proofreader/editor, did just that. I could not be happier with her skills to make our new German page extremely professional. I feel so lucky that she chose my place. Besides her work on the computer, she helped me with spring cleaning and preparing the house (and folding the handkerchiefs a.k.a. “towels” ;-) for the upcoming, new artist residency season.
I fully recommend Katy – it was so relaxing to have her in the house.

Gitte is a hardworking, incredibly smart person. She’s a great low carb chef, and we had fun whenever we cooked together.
Her quiet place with its huge art studio is beautiful, and the tiny, remote village and the surroundings are stunning.
