I spent 2 incredible months with Anita and Andreas. My group and I initially came for school purposes, and honestly it was the best summer of our lives.
The work we did was difficult, but very interesting. We gardened a lot (seeding, harvesting, protecting plants form bugs, weeding, watering), helped Christian (the neighbor) to rebuild his house,

During the time I spent in Germany, I met a lot of new people from other countries. Discovering their culture was incredible. I had the possibility to visit some cities like Potsdam or Leipzig (and a ton of other). Most of them were so beautiful and different from what we can see in France.
I really enjoyed the time I spent with you, and I hope I can see you again in the future !Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

I had a great experience staying with Anita & Andreas. They're a lovely and accommodating couple that are always willing to help out. Almost 4 weeks at Anita and Andreas’ garden flew by very quickly. Me and my sister Marija got the best cultural exchange, starting off strong with German and finishing with French, Spanish and English. We weren’t alone, during the stay we spent time with 6 more workawyers!

We all had a clear routine every single day. Feeding the chickens, cleaning, weeding, planting, berry-picking, helping out in the kitchen were our every-day. But we also had free time on the weekends to go to the lake or nearby cities like Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden. Andreas and Anita drove us around the area as well, showing us some cool spots and sightseeing. During the stay, we also hosted a party and made BBQ. That was fun!
Never would I have ever guessed I would find love through Workaway, but I truly did and I couldn’t be happier about it. Thank You, Andreas and Anita, for welcoming me and Marija to your home and opening the doors to a wonderful experience at your place. We are grateful to have known you and we will visit you sometime again!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

I'm very glad I stayed with Anita and Andreas. Having grown up in urban areas, it was great to experience life in rural east Germany. Anita and Andreas were gracious hosts and skilled farmers. I stayed with Anita and Andreas for one week during autumn and am glad that I could learn so many new things with them.
I helped with the apple harvesting and learned how to use this device to even get down apples from the very top of the trees. Also I learned how to conserve vegetables and how to lay turf. Finally, we improvised a protection for

We had many varied meals together and I am happy that they didn't throw me out because I ate three times as slow and two times as much as them :D. With Andreas, I even had a short sightseeing tour in a close city.
Andreas and Anita are very easygoing, open and funny people. When I was working with Andreas, we talked all the time about anything and I was very impressed by his general knowledge. With the two of them, I really felt like part of the family immediately. This also includes that I could ask openly for favors and they didn't hesitate to grant them when they could.
All in all, I can only recommend a stay with Andreas and Anita! :)Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Unfortunately Boris was only with us for a week. But in this one week he has done more than noticeably as an absolute "city person". I spent only a week in Anita & Andrea's place, but it was a very good and intense experience !

So, viele Danke für diese gut Erfahrung in Schönewalde und Liebe Grüsse :)Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

The time with Eric was very enriching for us. Hats off to his courage to want to live and study here for a while with very little knowledge of German. But he is very ambitious, always asked us how something is expressed, why this word and not that word, etc. So we have absolute respect for his ambition and strong will with which he would like to

He was always there when it came to helping and lending a hand. No matter whether it was digging up the garden or cleaning Brussels sprouts.
Thank you so much for your help with us. We hope to see you again soon. all, all the best for you.

I'll admit, I was very intimidated in the beginning at Andreas and Anita's place. The goal was to help me learn German, as I had just been taking A1 classes. I probably should've taken German longer before this experiment, but regardless, it was very culturally rewarding. Thankfully, Andreas speaks conversational English, so when push came to
… read more shove, we could converse in English (and even had some great car rides discussing politics, films, etc.).
Their property is absolutely gorgeous. Be prepared to truly work at least 5 hours during the day, but know that they're very flexible when so long as you let them know what you need to do (for instance I was taking German courses online for 90 minutes in the morning).
The work was wide and varied. Letting the chickens out in the morning, a big variety of garden work (weeding, shoveling, moving hay, watering, etc.), painting, helping to move furniture, and weatherproofing a ceiling just to list some. Definitely bring clothes and hopefully sturdy shoes you don't mind getting dirty.
Generally, both lunch and dinner are had with Andreas and Anita, and usually you'll help prepare some form of it (often cooking what you've harvested from the garden).
Andreas is truly passionate and a teacher of his passions. Don't be shy about asking about farming, the various types of plants, or any kind of work you're doing. He's lived at least 10 lives and is a wealth of information. I once mentioned pesto pizza being a favorite food on a whim (which he'd never heard of), and two hours later we were baking pesto and spicy sausage pizzas, using basil found from the garden.
If you're looking to truly get an experience living in the German countryside, and really do work (with a perma-culture focus) where you see the fruits of your labor, I absolutely recommend staying with Andreas and Anita.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
