My name is Ada and I have been living in Lanzarote (a beautiful island in the Canary Islands) for 20 years. Six years ago, I bought a house in ruins that I am rebuilding with bioconstruction techniques.
The house is located in a beautiful village called Maguez, 7 kilometres from the beach and surrounded by beautiful landscapes. There is the opportunity to enjoy free activities like yoga and trekking in the village and surrounding volcanic landscape.
New priorities: Right now I would love to make a thermal mass rocket stove and I also want to find a pedagogue for my son.

Lanzarote and especially the rural north is not served very well with public transportation but it is very easy to hitch-hike or share rides with people who make the same route as you. I have a car and enjoy going to the nearby beach.

It was nice to help Ada and stay at her home. The home is very nice, people are amazing and I had nice projects to work on. I learned something new, too.
In the village, less than 15 minutes by bike, there are very nice shops on one place – organic store, fish seller etc., that I visited frequently.

I stayed with Ada three weeks and it was excellent experience!
The atmosphere was: chill, fun, freedom. Ada is flexible, nice, inspiring and FUN. What marked my staying with her family is LAUGHING ALL THE TIME. Ada cooked for us - oh my good... SO GOOD.

It was our first experience here in workaway and Ada is a fantastic woman!! Maguez it's a little town in the north of Lanzarote but with Ada's help we had visited all the island. The accord was to stay 2 week but the work, Ada and other things were so nice that we had been two weeks more!

Hanna was nice to be around and she was a really hard worker. She helped in the initial preparation of the house which involved breaking walls and lifting and carrying heavy items so she´s definitely a strong woman.
