  We are a friendly family of three living in the beautiful Basque Country in northern Spain. Our family is made up of mum, dad and our young daughter, and we also share our home with four friendly dogs.
  
  We run our own sports and wellness centre, where we help people improve their health and wellbeing through exercise, nutrition and an active lifestyle. We are passionate about nature, sport, music and spending quality time together as a family.
  
  Our home is located in a very small mountain village, about 30 minutes from San Sebastián. It is a peaceful place surrounded by forests, mountains and beautiful walking trails. If you enjoy nature, hiking, quiet evenings and authentic local life, we think you will love it here. Although our village is very small, San Sebastián, the Basque coastline, charming villages, and even the south of France are all within easy reach.
  
  The main reason we are joining Workaway is because we are planning to move to New Zealand next year. We would love to welcome someone who enjoys cultural exchange and would like to become part of our family for a while. Our biggest goal is to create a natural English-speaking environment at home through everyday life, conversations, games and activities with our daughter.
  
  We are not looking for an employee or a traditional childcare arrangement. We are looking for someone who enjoys sharing daily life, exchanging cultures, and becoming part of our family. In return, we hope to offer a warm home, your own private bedroom and bathroom, delicious meals, plenty of free time to explore the Basque Country, and an authentic experience of life in one of the most unique regions of Spain.

  We believe that cultural exchange should be a two-way experience.
  
  As a family, we would love to share our everyday life with you and introduce you to the Basque culture, traditions, food and way of life. We enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring the mountains and coastline, visiting local festivals and markets, and discovering beautiful places around the Basque Country. Whenever possible, we'd be happy for you to join us.
  
  We also run our own sports and wellness centre, so if you're interested in fitness, health or sport, you'll have the opportunity to meet local people, join some training sessions and experience how our community comes together through exercise.
  
  At home, we hope to create a relaxed environment where we can learn from each other. We'd love to improve our English before moving to New Zealand next year, while sharing our language and culture with you. If you're interested, we'd also be happy to teach you some Spanish or even a few words in Basque, one of the oldest languages in Europe.
  
  Most importantly, we hope you'll feel like part of our family. We don't just want someone to help us—we're looking to build genuine friendships, share experiences, laugh together and create memories that will last long after your stay has finished.

  Ajuda

  The help we are looking for is very relaxed and centred around cultural exchange rather than formal childcare.
  
  Our main goal is to create a natural English-speaking environment at home as we are planning to move to New Zealand next year. We would love someone who enjoys spending time with children and is happy to speak English naturally throughout the day while playing games, reading stories, doing crafts, going for walks or simply sharing everyday family life with our daughter.
  
  We are looking for around 10–20 hours of help per week, leaving you with plenty of free time to relax or explore the Basque Country.
  
  Sometimes you may also like to join us at our sports and wellness centre, where you can meet local people and experience our daily routine. If you enjoy sport, fitness or healthy living, you'll probably feel right at home! There is absolutely no expectation to work at the gym—it's simply an opportunity to be involved if you are interested.
  
  We believe cultural exchange goes both ways. We'd love to learn about your country, traditions and experiences, while sharing our own culture, language and way of life with you. We hope you'll feel like part of our family rather than simply a volunteer.
  
  In return, we provide your own private bedroom and bathroom, all meals, a public transport card

  We all enjoy speaking English, although our levels are different. Dad speaks English confidently, while Mum is currently improving her conversational English. Our daughter is just beginning her language journey, so our main goal is to create a natural English-speaking environment at home through everyday life, games and activities. In return, we'd be happy to help you learn Spanish and even introduce you to some Basque if you're interested!

  You will have your own private bedroom and private bathroom, giving you plenty of personal space to relax and feel at home.
  
  Our house is located in a peaceful mountain village surrounded by nature, making it a great place to unwind, go for walks, read, or simply enjoy a slower pace of life.
  
  We provide all meals, and you're welcome to eat with us as part of the family. We enjoy healthy, home-cooked food and are always happy to share meals together. If you have any dietary requirements or preferences, we'll do our best to accommodate them.
  
  We also provide a public transport card, making it easy to visit nearby towns and cities such as Tolosa and San Sebastián during your free time.
  
  Above all, we want you to feel comfortable, welcome and at home during your stay with us.

  We are a relaxed, friendly and easy-going family. We value kindness, honesty and good communication, and we hope anyone staying with us feels comfortable asking questions or sharing ideas.
  
  We don't have many house rules—just mutual respect, helping to keep shared spaces tidy, and enjoying life together.
  
  During your free time, you'll have plenty to explore. The Basque Country is famous for its mountains, beaches, surfing, hiking, beautiful villages and incredible food. San Sebastián is only about 30 minutes away, and there are regular buses to nearby towns and cities. Bilbao, Pamplona and even the south of France are all easy day trips.
  
  We hope that by the end of your stay, you'll leave not just with memories of Spain, but feeling like you've found a second family.
