  Welcome to our vibrant, multicultural family!
  We are a warm and creative family based in Catania, living in a bright and spacious apartment with a large balcony, two bathrooms, and a cozy kitchen. Our home is in the residential area of Via Giuffrida, just steps away from the metro and within walking distance of the historic center and popular shopping streets.
  
  Our family of four includes a funny 41-year-old mom, a sporty 48-year-old dad, and two energetic, curious daughters aged 7 and 4. Rounding out our household are three serene goldfish.
  
  We’re passionate about embracing different cultures, diving into books, exploring art, and making music. Each of us plays at least one instrument—guitar, viola, or violin— music, sports, and books are parts of our daily lives. Language is another of our shared loves: we speak Italian, English, Spanish, and we’re always working on improving our French and German
  
  We offer workawayers a private room and shared bathroom and kitchen in exchange for assistance with household tasks, babysitting, and occasional cooking. We’d love for you to engage with our daughters through creative play, games, or language practice while helping prepare meals and lending a hand with small chores around the house.
  
  In return, you’ll become part of our family and experience the authentic charm of Sicilian life. Discover the beauty of Catania, its rich history, vibrant culture, and, of course, its renowned cuisine!

  The help we like to have:
  
  We are looking for a Workawayer who can lend a hand in a variety of areas while becoming part of our family. Your main tasks will include:
  
  Babysitting: Engaging with our daughters (ages 7 and 4) through play, creative activities, storytelling, or language practice. They love music, art, and games!
  Cooking: Preparing simple meals for the family. If you enjoy sharing recipes from your culture, we'd love to try them!
  Light Household Chores: Helping to keep the house tidy, such as folding laundry, sweeping, or tidying up after shared activities.
  We enjoy working alongside our Workawayer, so some tasks might be done together. This is a great chance to share skills, exchange ideas, and learn from each other—whether it’s trying new recipes, learning a new language, or playing music together.
  
  If you’re someone who enjoys spending time with kids, has a creative and flexible spirit, and doesn’t mind pitching in with daily tasks, we’d love to hear from you! 😊

We encourage relaxed, immersive practice for everyone to feel comfortable and confident. Activities for learning: With the kids, language exchange can happen naturally through games, songs, storytelling, or even teaching them some basic words from your language. With adults, we can have discussions about topics we love—books, travel, art, or music—or even do language-specific cooking sessions where we learn terms for ingredients and recipes!   Our apartment is spacious, with plenty of natural light and ventilation, making it a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
  Large balcony:
  A perfect spot to relax, enjoy a coffee, or soak in the Sicilian sunshine.
  Common areas:
  Feel free to make yourself at home in our kitchen, living room, and other shared spaces.
  We aim to create a balance of privacy and shared moments, making your stay both enjoyable and enriching. If there’s anything you need to feel more comfortable, we’re happy to help! 😊
  
  We would love your assistance with preparing meals. It would be wonderful if you could help us in the kitchen. Whether it's chopping ingredients, making simple dishes, or learning new recipes together, your support in meal prep would be greatly appreciated.
  The fridge will always be stocked with fresh ingredients, so you'll have everything you need to prepare meals.
  We like to keep a variety of food on hand, ensuring there's always something delicious available to cook or snack on.

  Use of internet and free time:
  internet access is provided but please note that our daughters do not have access to screen time, such as TV, tablets, or smartphones. We encourage outdoor play, reading, and creative activities instead. We would appreciate your support in maintaining this approach, as we believe it’s important for their development and well-being.
  
  Language:
  In our home, we try not speak Italian. We communicate in English. We’d love for you to join us not to use italian during your stay, especially for language exchange and daily conversations. This will help create an immersive environment for everyone, and we encourage you to practice and share your language skills as wel
  
  Respect for the family’s nighttime rest:
  Please be mindful of the family’s need for quiet and rest, especially in the evenings. Our daughters are young and go to bed around 8:00 PM. We kindly ask that noise levels are kept low during this time to ensure they can sleep peacefully, and to respect our family's routine.
  
  Puntuality:
  We ask that you respect punctuality for any commitments or tasks you agree to. Being on time helps ensure a smooth daily routine for the family. We greatly appreciate your reliability and respect for our time.
  
  No Smoking:
  We do not welcome smokers in our home. For the health and comfort of everyone, we kindly ask that no one smokes on the property. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a smoke-free environment.

  We’re happy to let you know that you’ll have your mornings free to focus on your work or explore Catania at your own pace! We believe in maintaining a balance between work and family time, so your mornings will be all yours. You can use this time to catch up on projects, enjoy some quiet time, or discover the beautiful sights of our city. In the afternoons, we’ll appreciate your help with tasks such as cooking, assisting with the kids, or other household chores. The flexibility in the mornings allows you to manage your work schedule while still being part of our family activities later in the day. We have a spacious and fully equipped studio, perfect for your work needs. The studio is designed to offer a quiet, comfortable environment where you can focus on your projects. With a reliable internet connection, a large desk, and plenty of natural light, you’ll have everything you need to stay productive. Whether you prefer working indoors or enjoying the fresh air on the balcony, the space will allow you to balance your work and personal time effectively.
